A better solution would be to take the trial lawyers with their huge malpractice claims out of the picture. That would reduce medical costs by AT LEAST 25 - 30%!

That will kill the private insurance at any business. The group does not come before the individual so the individual should not have to pay for that group member who can't. I sent Chris Dodd a letter about my concern about the lack of funding for the Adam Walsh Child Protection and Safety Act. Although he wrote back to me promptly, his response had absoulely nothing to do with what I wrote about. It was complete rhetoric about health care. It's obvious he, nor anyone in his office, didn't read a word of my note, yet his form letter is supposed to leave the impression that my letter was read and his response what heartfelt. How more deceptive and cunning can he be?

I don't understand y we need the middle man (gvmt) to be involved. Sen. Dodd mentioned a central auction to buy and sell, we have that; it's called the free market. Also mentioned was coverage for teeth similar to coverage for arms & legs. This coverage is already available to those willing to pay for it. There are no free lunches, and once again the feeling is that the individual will be stuck with a higher bill due to gvmt interaction. My request is to stay out of the way please.

I do not want my health overseen by a Government comitee. The Government does not know how to run any service efficiently (Postoffice, Veterans Administration, Medicare, Social Security). I do not want any system that competes with Private Healthcare. I do not want any form of single payer system, because I do not want any excuse by an employer that involves the cost of having an employee increasing. I do not want any system where doctors are forced not to be paid or underpaid.

what would you say if our police officers or firefighters were profit motivated? I don't understand why the people who pay our doctors are allowed to have a profit motive which can override a doctor's opinion to administer treatment. HMO's say they don't deny treatment, only coverage -- and yet, that's still the core of the problem. They wouldn't make enough money off you to treat your sickness or injury, so they don't. This makes no sense. Health should be in the same category as PDs/FDs.
