On a lyrical tip, in my opinion alone, I truly think the best rappers with actual legitimate record deals were Big L AND Lord Finesse. Both Lord Finesse and Big L could both lay down mind blowing freestyles AND put out great albums with substance. Nas, AZ, and KRS one are also great. Canibus, Jin tha MC, SuperNatural, and Eminem are the greatest freestyle emcees to touch a mic. But those four were never known to put out quality albums/records.

Listen y'all, historically melle mel has been kickin it for a while and there ain't no doubt that he's talented. For all y'all "newschool" dickriders who claim that either Tupac. Biggie, or Eazy E or some other bullshit rapper was the BEST to ever do it are really out of touch and y'all are NOT hip hop. Even Lupe Fiasco and definitely wayne ain't shit compared to the rest. Nas is an honorable mention but not the best. Rakim, KoolGrap, KRS, Kane, AZ are runner-ups. East Coast=superiority.
