you should really be using your hips to build the momentum. your arms should really not be involved. the are basically keeping the kb from flying away. you really want to focus on the hips. it's kinda like a deadlift. i recommend pavel tsatsouline's book "enter the kettlebell". it goes into great depth and you can get it fairly cheap on amazon. hope this helps.
When I watch you and other kettlebell experts on youtube and they're swinging their kettlebell up to head height/higher, are you not using your shoulders/arms at ALL? Like are they 100% deadweight? Or are you using them just a bit? Because I look at myself in the mirror and I look exactly like you guys, but I am using my shoulders/arms to build up the initial momentum...
