I suggest you buy a whole new computer because the computer is crap. You really cant get a better graphics card then the 8600gt without changing the psu maybe I'd suggest the 4670 it's a little bit better. Check out musicasrequested's page on my friends list/subscriptions we tried to mod the hell out of the E521 my computer, putting a gtx260 but in the end we decided to build a new computer from scratch. If your on a budget a good gaming computer doesn't cost much. Mine was about 560 bucks

well, idont have many options, i cant upgrade my pc with a higher video card cuz my power supply wont support it, also i dont think my motherboard can handle it, etc, it's a nice office pc, but definately not a gaming pc.

I have a similar Dell ..all these days i didnt know which graphics card to go up too . Not all of them fit on the E521. So the one your using XFX GTX 260 ..is that a good one to go for?

no the gtx260 doesn't fit in the computer I tried to mod my dell to make it fit but it was such a pain and there were to many problems, I have a different case and motherboard.

Yea I got this comp and have not done anything to it its a great pc and it run WOW about 17-20fps but if you go to outlands runs about 10-13fps on short view distance o well still a great cp!

i don't believe it has fire wire! but i did get a evga ge force 9400 gt 512mb and with 4gb of ram it allocated to the graphics card and it is'now1024mb! so if you have plenty o system ram you may not need a 1 gb card!

You cant use a 9800GT. The power supply is only 305W and the 9800GT takes 400W.

yea i got the latest wotlk wow Patch and it's not a problem with the graphic.

i dont fps lagg that much either unless i pick high performance.

but buying some cheap + Ram Mines wouldnt be wrong :)

I have this system but no stereo mix and I don't know how to install a sound card (which is what stupid Dell is telling me I need to do) and I shouldn't have to pay for a sound card when they failed to tell me that I didn't have some audio features and no sound card! I have Windows Vista Premium 32-bit and a SigmaTel card. Please help me get the option so I can play/stream music in chat rooms! Thanks.

You can either put one in one of the pci slots .all you do is power it down unplug open the case find the slot pop open the holder and pop the card in .pop the holder back in place and plug it in ,start puter .go on the internet to the site for your card download the latest driver for your operating system and install the drivers .

turns out the video card wasnt compatible with vista after i searched on the internet becasue it kept crashing.i dont see how the games couldnt be running smoothly though mine runes at excellent quality with minor lag in online games from time to time.Then again that's my personal opinion anyway.

I'm afraid I'll have to disagree on the part about gaming I had the 256MB ATI Radeon X1300 Pro card installed it by Dell and I have the 2GB of RAM and so far I haven't found a game the system can't handle and I've played games at 1024X768 Resolution it'll even run Half Life 2 with the HDF turned on.

hey guys ive got a dell dimension e521, not exactly the same as the one in the vid (mine doesn't have the memory card readers.. if you want to open the housing, simply pull back the black handle thing at the back of your pc, on the top, and then remove the right panel, really easy, no screws involved. i want to upgrade my dell for gaming, anyone got any ideas? im gonna get 3gb of ram, but im not sure about which graphics card would work..
