I remember this well. Was in WV for my wife's grandmother's funeral. Her sister and her family are bama fans. Kinda hard to celebrate and rub it in when you're together for a funeral. What made it worse, I got a condolence card the year before from them when we lost for teh 15th in a row.

Dear Sir, II really do see UF as diminsishing. We have been a great standard ...past few year but Tebow is graduating and I think Meyer is heading up to Notre Dame which is his dream team. I went to UF and I have a lot of credo to the University who took a chance on me. However AL has been the SEC standard and that makes it a doubly enriched when AL is defeated. Good luck to AL

The AL-FL SEC championship games are always classic. I'm still not over the loss last year, that one hurt but I admit the better team won. We did win solo titles in 25, 30, and 34. Undefeated and rose bowl champs. Hell, the way FL is going you guys could have more national titles to come.

Let's see. Auburn has won six in a row. How many of those were we on probation for? Five. What was his record when we weren't? 1-2 at Auburn and 0-4 at Ole Miss (but in fairness, he was on probation at UM).

So Tommy benefits from the second hardest probation any team ever got (and note he barely won most of those games despite the recruiting advantage and the revolving door of coaches).

Let's see - starting in 2009 - how it pans out. I suspect he'll find it much tougher.

Uh, Alabama beat Penn State to win the 1978 national title. They beat USC to win the 1977 title that the voters took from us and gave to Notre Dame. Alabama beat USC in 1971 when they unveiled the wishbone.

For nation titles, Tide has beaten: Miami, Arkansas (twice), Penn State, and Nebraska (twice). And every national title Alabama ever won, they beat MSU that same year.

Bama has a great winning tradition.....I mean winning ball games and yes Solo national titles which equals 3...I personally....which I just a fan of sports so my opinion could count less, but I personally don't think that unless you are the champ in all the poles...that you are the champ. In real life there are NO CHAMPIONS....because the NCAA doesn't have a champion these are things only done by poles like the AP, UPI, coaches poll or some obscure poll that was once accepted.
