Green Energy for World Peace, is the theme for the novel, "With These Eyes. " The story combines the knowledge behind a sustainable green energy source with Buddhist wisdom to show humanity the simple steps that lead in to a calm & prosperous world.
I heard nothing of Buddha and his enlightenment. I would think that a Buddhist education would begin and end with the goal of becoming and being enlightened as Buddha is enlightened.
That's like asking, who taught Jesus about Christianity? Enlightened teachers are enlightened in due season, to raise human conscious to higher levels, until the whole human race is enlightened.
I understand this, because I've been enlightened in due season. Do you know why we had the abstract art movement of the 20th century? It was for me to use as the means for becoming enlightened and raising conscious to where we understand all religions, philosophies and disciplines as Interdisciplinary.
OK, I don't think you understand. Would Buddha have talked about his method by referring to himself? Where did he get his "Buddhist" education?
His education was introspection and observation. You make it sound like enlightenment is a contest. It isn't. And the closer you get to it, the more you realize it isn't a personal goal, you're just obeying the teleological purpose of self-awareness.
If Buddha was enlightened, his enlightenment would be understood in relation to his incarnation of knowledge. Similar to Jesus, as an author / finisher, Buddha's enlightenment and incarnation would be what a Buddhist student or disciple would eat and drink. If Buddha dis not pass along a body of knowledge for his student / teachers to pass along also, you and I should consider the fact that Buddha's ( assumed ) enlightenment might not provide the means for defining and understanding the concept.
So why then do you contend that a Buddhist education should begin and end as his?
Each one's path is different.
As far as a Buddhist education, he is talking about here an education that would lay a propitious foundation and framework for the dissolution of maya illusion.
An education is as good as the origin of its teaching. In the case of Buddhist education, that should be Buddha. You and I should consider the fact that a Buddhist education might be good, but not that good.
When each one's path is different, here and now, you and I should consider the fact that their paths have not an end-in-itself and are meaningless and pointless, and full of maya illusion.
This also is how words can just as easily sow confusion as understanding. Maya.
He is not talking about a Buddhist education as an education about Buddha the individual, but as I said, an education that lays a propitious foundation for what is Buddhism.
Besides, who are you to say that some don't have lives that are an end-in-theirselves, meaningless and pointless? They are who they simply are because nature simply made them thus. Everything has a meaning in the microcosm and macrocosm.
I'm claiming to be the enlightened genius of the athletic exercise of tennis. From my perspective, I can separate the individuals with the meaningful relationship with tennis from the individuals with the meaningless relationship. With this, I can cross reference all disciplines, relative to the standard of an enlightened teacher, as well as their enlightened students.
Let me ask you, are you an enlightened teacher and / or student and to what illusion were you enlightened from?
Do you know anything about the Buddhist or Zen discipline called " Enso Painting "? It's based on the painting of a circle. The enlightened teacher uses the discipline to bring their student to their enlightenment.
I'm also claimimg to be the enlightened genius of the philosophy of aesthetics, through the fine art form of painting. The enlightenment I witnessed is understood in relation to me being the last of the avant-garde painters of the 20th century abstract art movement.
'Enso Painting', not really familiar, but from what you describe it as, it seems very similar to mandala drawing/painting.
It also appears to me that maybe you are just wanting to argue, or just have a conversation. But I explained why I think your original comment was from a misunderstood perspective of what this guy's discussion was about. You have now changed angles of the topic.
Enso painting is different from mandala painting, because the goal of Enso painting is recognized through the profoundity, which can be achieved through the painting of a pure form like the circle.
I can cross reference the painting style of Jackson Pollock, Mark Rothko, Adolph Gottlieb and myself to the enlightened masters of Enso Painting.
I can tell that you feel a new sense of psychic vitality. However, a little humility might suit you better. I'm very skeptical of people who always hammer the idea of their 'enightenment' as if they use it as excuse to separate theirselves from others.
Off topic, have you ever read "Ego and Archetype" by Edward Edinger? Also, have you heard the terms, 'circumambulation' and 'enantiodromia'?... interesting concepts.

Looking down one's nose at others has no place in enlightenment. You seem very idealistic, this also has no place as it blinds one to the peripheral.
Everything has meaning and is interconnected. Jung even said once that the right way to wholeness is made up of fateful detours and wrong turnings.
It's a false comparision to compare a sport with something as the heart of Buddhism.
I won't go into myself, but I'll say this much, I'm a student of life.
