They were beautifully made cars and solid as tanks to boot. I remember a write-up in the 1979 (or 1978?) Road & Track Buyer's Guide on the 911SC and the 911Turbo. The turbo hit 60 in 5.0 seconds (which was amazing in 1979 considering a Ferrari 308 took 7 and some change and a Corvette needed 8 seconds!). The 911sc did it in 6 and some change. Funny how Porsche tried so hard back then to replace the 911 with something new yet that model remains to this day and is what defines Porsche as a company
@kevrs2 930, 993,996. 997 are just model distinctions. The new models are considered 997s', as the late 80's are 930 models and so on... correct me if im wrong with the dates
@kevrs2 - in actual fact, the 930 was a sort of internal code name used by Porsche for the original 911 Turbo. Porsche used other model numbers like these through the years to distinguish between different generations of 911. They used 930 for the turbo, they used 964 for all the updated 1989-93 model 911's, they used 993 for the last generation air-cooled 911's between 94-98, the first watercooled models with the restyled headlights was the 996, the current generation is the 997.
virtually no squat. gotta say that if i had 2 moan about something then that would be it. i love the way a hard accelerating 911 squats. other than that, its gorgeous and sounds amazing.
1976 is wrong.

Very pretty car.
But, if she's a 1976, why's she got the 1978->1989 'Tea Tray' rear spoiler (instead of the 'Decklid')?
Have you got an Intercooler under that rear wing?
Tj930 2 years ago
Yes i do! a Andial cooler that is why i have to have the later rearwing
