The Oak at the Gate of the Dead (just days before it split in two)

This great tree has had a top 'tree professor' to survey it last week He will be reporting back soon, but for sure this tree will continue to live for a lot more years than most of us. We are keeping a close eye on the tree. It has many friends that will do everything to help it. Also the Pontfadog Oak and the Duelling oak which are both nearby are being hepled too.

That is tragic news of it splitting ......is it still alive ??

@JERHxART Yes the tree seems to be ok, certainly the one side is good the one that fell away we will have to wait a year or two to see how it goes. There is a lot of root breakage but the tree is in leaf but this may just be stored energy.
