Nope, the 2.9 is a syncro or 4x4. Check wikipedia of you like. I do talking about the golf 3, not the corrado... There are 2 types of VR6 in the golf 3: the 2.8 FWD with 174hp and the 2.9 Syncro with 190hp... I know quitte alot of these engines...
in the mk3 vr6 in usa there us only 2.8 fwd vr6. But in Europe they make a awd 2.9 with a 20 hp increase over the 2.8. But mk5 usdm they came out with the 4motion r32 which is awd.
My freind took his car there to get a stage 2 turbo and motor rebuid,tranny work.
10 months later we were crusin and seen his car out on the street!!!!! they were absolutly beat the shit out of it, they said they were testing and tuning(I understand t@t)but we watch them beat the shit out of it for 4 hours.

You have the 2.8 and that's FWD, and the 2.9 and that's AWD, or better syncro
