Hey cool video, but that is not a Checkered Garter Snake. They live in the midwestern part of the United States such as Texas, Oklahoma and southern Kansas.
That is just an Eastern Garter Snake. They look like that in your state and pretty much all over.
aww, he's soo cute ;) pretty sure thats an Eastern Garter Snake though, it's pretty easy to get the Eastern and the Checkered confused because of the similar patterns. but I really liked this video!
