  • @yuriatayde they do have platforms you can read....

  • Stupid morons. Get to friggin' work! I pay you!

  • Just out of curiosity, how is tax code reform an attack on women?

  • @thegillotine09 related to attack on Planned Parenthood.

  • @ProportionalResponse

    Ah, that's true, thanks.

  • Hur-de-derp,Yeah, their priority is to CUT jobs. That's what they want to do, that's their goal. Make sure no on can get healthcare, too. Yeah! Durp.

This kind of bullshit really pisses me off. Obviously they want to create jobs, they just have a different method of achieving that objective. If you think they are misguided, explain why! That's what the damn argument is!

"Democrats #1 priority-- Stealing candy from babies."

There, how do you like it?

  • @hugesinker If they wanted to create jobs, they wouldn't be doing what they're doing. I'll grant that they're cynical bastards, but I don't think they're retarded. They could give a shit about jobs, their goal right now is to defeat Obama, by any means necessary, they don't care if they have to ruin this country to do it. They're actually that greedy and cynical.

  • @yerk3 If not giving a shit about jobs was their position, there wouldn't be anything. You have to know what the other side is actually saying before you can engage in a meaningful discussion about it. That's one of the very first things taught in a high school level critical thinking class. This kind of theatrical bullshit posturing epitomizes the problem with the level of discourse in this country. We would be better off if he just walked up, farted into to mic, then went back to his seat.

  • @hugesinker Where do you make the connection between "theatrical bullshit" and not "knowing what the other side is saying?" What does the guy tearing paper in this video not know about "what the other side is saying?" He's using a prop, he's using a creative tactic to get his point across, how does that detract from the validity of his position?

  • @yerk3 The Republicans say they want to help create jobs, the Democrats want to help create jobs. They have slightly different means towards this end. The substance of the argument is these differences. It isn't either side saying "They are against creating jobs!" It's bullshit theatrics. I don't know how to explain it more clearly than that.

  • you could actually do a performance like that? wow, that wouldn`t have been possible in any german parliament ^^

  • I dunno man.. maybe it's effective (or not?) but this feels like a really childish publicity stunt to me.. Do we really want to encourage people for this kind of behavior, even if we agree with them?

  • @megamarsvin How is it childish?

  • @yerk3 It's a parlor trick. And that's the problem with politics today in general. It's about who's able to grab the most attention not who makes the best argument. I don't disagree with the guy, I just think we're playing straight into the hands of the Karl Roves of this world.

Without a reasonable and informed electorate democracy will implode, and you can't tell me that's not what we're seeing today with our Fox News and CNN and MSNBC. (ok Fox is the worst of the three but does that matter?)

  • @megamarsvin It's a way of getting a message across. Who cares if the method is unorthodox, the message is still true.

  • @yerk3 The problem is that you're poisoning the well. Even if a silly trick "gets the job done" for the truth, it can just as easily do so for a lie. As I said in my previous comment, democracy can not function with an uninformed electorate and these parlor tricks play into that. It has nothing to do with orthodoxy, if anything this "style" of politics has become orthodox. But it's not helping us. It's just distracting people.

  • @megamarsvin Part of the issue, is that it is hard to grap people's attention anymore, so you can teach them the truth, without doing something like this. Sad, I agree. You give me an attention getting way to educate, and I'd give it a try.

  • @ProportionalResponse No that's true, it's unfair to blame the politicians or the media for that matter. They just give us what we want to hear. Though the situation is somewhat exacerbated by lobbyists who deliberately obfuscate the issues, the society itself is the root cause. We prefer populist finger-pointing at the "other side" and complaining about taxes to actually getting informed and involved.

  • @megamarsvin Ah, so your position is based on a completely arbitrary opinion of how politicians should act. No creative methods must be used, dialogue must be as stilted by arcane convention as possible. As for the possibility of Republicans using tactics like these, we'll cross that bridge when we come to it. There's no way the Republican party could make themselves any less credible than they already are.

  • @yerk3 "Cross that bridge"? Dude that bridge was built decades ago. It's been in use so long it's barely capable of bearing the load of bull that both sides ferry over it.

Politicians, democratic and republican alike, have been using it to push simplistic populist bullshit in our faces for my entire adult life. It's all parlor tricks and everyone acts surprised when nothing changes. But the politician looks great for his photo-op and gets his soundbite played on TV. That's the whole goal.

  • @megamarsvin Again, how does the delivery impact the truthfulness of what is being said? The "performance" in the video got the message across quite nicely, the only concrete claim you can make is that it may potentially be used by Republicans. Of course Republicans will be childish, that's not something we can change, it's not our fault they're so stupid.

  • i bet sarah palin would look at it and be like, "Well you democrats are just grumpy, as always"

  • Bob Dylan springs to mind :)

  • Ha!

  • this is comical. The republicans got won the house by promising to cut spending/deficit. Ofc they totally failed on that but now leave it to the democrats to attack them on a job plan that would have gotten any republican run out of town if they dared propose it.

This straw man is so big, am SPEECHLESS

  • pwnage just pure pwnage!

  • They baseless hyperbole and over-generalizations of most comments here are a good indication of why this country is slipping into second nation status.

  • I guess this gives a new meaning to 'right there in black and white'...

  • The same thing is happening here in the UK.

  • A Democrat is someone who can't live without government assistance. Most Americans do for themselves and live without goverment handouts.

  • @dakota19021

    This is statistically untrue. Sorry.

  • @dakota19021 Most people in America are Democrats.

  • @dakota19021

"A Democrat is someone who can't live without government assistance"

    hyperbole.

if you take the home mortgage deduction, you are getting government assistance.

if you get federally guaranteed student loans, you are getting government assistance.

If you benefit from a safe food supply, you are getting government assistance.

If the national guard shows up to rescue your ass in case of a disaster, you are getting government assistance,

    don't act simple.

  • @dakota19021 Oh FFS. That is the most 2nd grade way to look at the problem. I get closer and closer each day to losing my patience with simple acting idiots like you each day.. You can not be this dumb, and still have the ability to turn on a computer. /watch?v=tF_xHFBDhqE How about this. How freaking simple can we make this for you. Want flashcards?

  • @ProportionalResponse

I share your distaste for the level of political discourse in this country (expressed by dakota19021). We're to the point where the more simplistic and fallacious the argument, the more applause it receives. It's ludacris.

And it's precisely why I'm unimpressed with the argument made in this video. Although creative in format, the substance is the same refrain of straw-men.

  • @dakota19021

If you used a road, then thats gov't assistance.

If you went to school, thats gov't assistance.

If you used a library, hey, guess what? Gov't assistance!

If you use most products bought from stores, they've probably been subsidized to a certain point.

If you depend on the military to keep you safe, gov't assistance.

Get your head out of your ass and wisen up. Even the internet was funded in large part by...

    THE GOVERNMENT!

    shithead.

  • @dakota19021 It's cute when republicans don't know what they're talking about.

  • @southdakotagirl30 Well after that, I can hardly say no to your invite :) See, look at that : Democrats bringing people together :)

  • @southdakotagirl30 I suspected (if your anything like me) that you would not be aware of the thumbs up, which is why I mentioned it :)

  • day before day of silence... damn.

  • He doesn't look happy.

  • the art of making silent statement really loud.

  • @southdakotagirl30 My thoughts exactly, and judging from the thumbs up on your comment, many others too

  • very well spoken lol

  • this is so dumb

  • A message that make me wonder what the GOP is doing.

  • I will never understand idiots that worship Democrats and Republicans... One is a Party of Socialists and the other is a Party of Fascists... You Americans are ignorant... Having grown up in a Socialist country I know the bullshit when I see it... The same goes for Fascism... Which your "right" wing loves... As a real right winger I am ashamed of your right and your left... Grow up with the leftist worship fool... I am subscribed because you usually post interesting vids but now... LOL!!!

  • @shartasticful wow if your comment wasnt hint enough your unavailable comment proves it: TROLL

  • @AussiePolitics Prove my point to be wrong and I will respect your assumption that I am a troll... Even though you are wrong... Loser...

  • @shartasticful the fact that you keep your account hidden, the fact that you insults others both in your original comment and just then. the fact that you claim the two major parties in america are socialist and fascist shows you have no understanding of the meaning of the words.

you are just another annoying troll who was just too obvious.

  • @AussiePolitics Well... Just prove me wrong on it, not that you think I'm wrong... The Democrats here in the USA are Socialists and the Republicans are Fascists... The Democrats wish to steal wealth from people and redistribute it to other people that lack wealth... The Republicans wish to let Private and Extremely Wealthy Corporations run the country... I moved here from the former Soviet Union in 1995 and I see the tug of war between these two Parties... Any intelligent person would see it...

  • @shartasticful what you're showing is an incredibly simplistic view of the world. you're acting as though politics is black and white - polar extremes. for your information economically there is virtually no difference between a fascist economy and a socialist one. sure businesses can say they are still privately owned under fascism but that is not the case when you consider that the government tells business what to produce, how much and by when and if they refuse their business is removed.

  • @AussiePolitics With that reply I have to apologize with the "loser" remark... It is simple when it comes to the economy but their are also personal issues with Socialism... With that system everyone but the "ruling class" is brought down to a level of poverty... Except for those that operate within the black market, which doesn't translate into taxes for the roads and what few Gov. programs that are needed... It takes away the motivation to openly earn... Plus the personal control is insane...

  • @shartasticful I know socialism is pretty nasty, but its like most things in the world if you go to an extreme it turns out to be pretty horrible. look at most countries in the world, you could argue that places like australia etc are 'socialist' compared to america but I would say that the poor and sick are taken a lot better care of in our countries and we're not exactly living in a dictatorship.

  • @AussiePolitics There is nothing wrong with helping the sick but I do believe endless benefits based on poverty crosses the line of reasonable... It always ends with a collapse of the Government... The Soviet Union isn't here anymore because it just costs too much and nobody really wants to earn for others... But don't worry... As much a right-winger I am, I am not a Republican votebot here in the USA... I tend to agree with them on most issues but this "Tea Party" is nothing more than crap...

  • @shartasticful the tea party appears to me like the anti-war left - they don't care when their own side is doing it but as soon as the other side of politics gets in suddenly its this horrible things thats going to destroy the nation

  • @AussiePolitics The Modern Tea Party here in the USA are a mixture of idiots... Some liberals, some conservatives and some people that just want to hold signs and belong... They didn't protest anything until a half negro man was elected President and started pushing Socialism... The funny thing is that this country has been tainted with Socialism ever since President Franklin Roosevelt... A white man... So I do believe the main motive for the Modern Tea Party is racism...

  • @shartasticful

Since you bring up socialism and even use the word "tainted", I'd like to ask you a question.

What is it with Americans and their phobia for socialism?

  • @laflugantabastardo I was born and raised in the former Soviet Union. I moved here to the United States in 1995. People here either hate Socialism because they actually know how it works and how it does not work or they hate it just because they don't understand it and someone told them to hate it. I hate it because I have experienced it. There is no doubt that Socialism and even Communism are great ideas. They just always end with a ruling class dictating to others...

  • @shartasticful

But we in Holland also have socialist-leaning parties. Labour is the biggest party in the opposition. Isn't socialism just a guise under which the dictator can rule?

  • @laflugantabastardo Socialism is just a matter of using Government Programs as bribery to get votes... The Republicans here do it rich farmers in the form of subsidies... The railroad system here is also subsidized... Both Parties here are pretty much full of sh!t... One bribes the rich and one bribes the poor while the working middle class are left with the bill... Which now is a bill too large to pay... But yes... Socialism is a dictators dream come true... The hand that provides, controls...

  • @AussiePolitics I agree both the tea party, and progressive democrats are nut jobs. Both extremes make no sense.

  • @shartasticful I think... not sure.. but think the difference between the USSR and USA were a bit... just a tinny weeny bit... more complicated than that. =) But I get your point.

  • @ProportionalResponse At least you get it.... Just don't fall for the crap these politicians throw at us... They each preach a different speech but they always go back to each others arms... They are all nothing but dictators... Democrat, Republican and whoever else tries to tell us how to live, what to eat, what to drive, where to live, what Doctor to see, where to fish, where to hunt, what "god" to pray too and so on and so on... Government has it's place but nobody seems to know it...

  • @shartasticful I said I get your point.. I didn't say I agreed with ya. THen you go all looney bins. (pokes you) What is wrong with you? (poke poke)

  • @ProportionalResponse Ah come on... Does it really seem crazy? No worries... I'll stay subscribed... I do like your videos... It's nice to bash religion.... Just not into the Democrat garb....

  • @shartasticful Just out of curiosity, which Socialist country would that be?

  • @shartasticful While your comment that we could do without the Republican and Democratic parties is one that I can agree with I'd say that the way you back up the statement is highly inaccurate.People often scream "Fascist!" or "Socialist!" simply as a way to discredit another.Let's leave off that crap,it's not a way to make a valid argument. The two party system does not allow for adequate representation of ones interests. For instance,I'm a Progressive...do you think that means I'm a socialist.

  • @triel77 I am a bit of progressive in the sense of freedom and Nationalism... I believe a country should care only about its people... I however believe that caring involves letting and making people be dependent on themselves... Other than the elderly and physically handicapped... The mentally handicapped should be euthanized unless their family wants to pay all medical bills... A crippled person still has a useful mind... The other has a wasted mind... So I believe in Medicare and Medicaid...

  • @shartasticful "The mentally handicapped should be euthanized unless their family wants to pay all medical bills." Whoa!!! Did you really just say that? The mentally handicapped should be euthanized. Unless of course their family is rich.

Did you mean that, because that is what you said. That is freaking INSANE! You don't kill people because there is something wrong with their brain dude.

  • @triel77 I said it... Do you honestly think rich people care about their mentally handicapped family members? They are a pointless burden to them just as poor mentally handicapped are a pointless burden to us... There are brilliant minds within physically handicapped bodies such with Stephan Hawking and then there are the mentally handicapped that slobber on themselves and play with dirt... Which do you see as a benefit or even a possible benefit to society?

  • @shartasticful I think I'm done engaging conversation with you actually. I just wanted to be certain as to what you were suggesting, since it's INSANE! The idea that people don't have a right to life simply because of a mental handicap, that's some F'ed up logic. Now that I know, we are done have a nice life.

  • @triel77 I do believe you agree with my point and are only scared to admit it... And yes....I will have a great life... I do wish the same for you... You are obviously not mentally handicapped, so please live well... Even if we don't agree...

  • @shartasticful really? and you think there is nothing wrong with YOU ???

you are morally base no even less you are an animal with the concept of only the strongest survive drilled in your head

  • @ShieldOfIslam Yes... Really...

  • @shartasticful ok the first step to healing a psychopathic mindset like that is acceptance i guess your on the right track at least

  • @ShieldOfIslam This is coming from someone with the username of "ShieldOfIslam".... So I can only assume that you pray... Am I right? Just understand that life is a concept based on biology and accidents... Not miracles and prophecies... I am far from psychopathic... I am just very straight forward with my views which happen to be logical... Healthy people produce... That includes the physically handicapped... Not the mentally handicapped... They are a burden to everyone... Including themselves.

  • @triel77

Progressive. Sounds like the opposite of a conservative. And if you're not a conservative, you're a socialist commie nazi homosexual jew that hates God and wants to destroy America. Clearly.

  • @laflugantabastardo LMAO! Clearly it is the case that all Progressives are straight-up homosexual socialist commie nazi jews that want to destroy America! I personally want to yarn bomb the Golden Gate Brigde one day. Plastering it with yarn counts as destruction right?

  • @triel77

Only if you have sex on it with a random woman just to push your lesbian agenda on the people so you can better corrupt and destroy America's youth. Also, wanting to kill off people because evolution social darwinism hitler.

  • Cool! Politicians engage into performance art! :D

  • Great video. Wish I could say I was speechless, instead I know they just don't care about the middle class, working poor or poor.

  • Very cool, but all I could think was "Man, what a waste of paper."

  • Whoa...that was pretty powerful

  • They can't read anyway...

  • The only thing the right wing wants is to make their rich friends richer. That's it.

That's the entirity of the right wing agenda. Everything else is a cover, or made to confuse people. Money for the rich is all they care about. End of story.

  • I think this way gets the point across better. It's like he's so shocked that some people in his country do such things he can't even talk to them. And for those who don't like what he "said", I'd love to hear you disprove an ounce of it. Would be fun.

  • @SamWiseGingy Cheering for him all the way

  • What a waste of time.

Do you know that Republicans can't read?

  • Very well done of him. Txs for sharing this.

  • what does GOP stand for?

answer: we like to fuck you in the job and your wallet, and at any point you might find a way to lube up to make it hurt less well take the lube away and put on an even bigger strap-on

  • @wayneqjr Grand Old Party. I'm serious. That's really what it stands for.

  • That might have been the greatest "speech" ever held in congress.

  • Too intellectual a speech for a lot of the people in that house, but he is right.

  • yes, that's witty and yes it drives home important message

the only problem I cloud have with the format is that is uses so much paper :-P

  • @pawsoned A reasonable sacrifice to make a valuable point. Just think of it as being instrumental in getting the GOPs out of power. The party that has no interest in protecting the environment.

  • @cherylln Yeah, you're totally right. I hope there won't be more worse sacrifices down the line

  • i bet they still don't get it.

  • @bewarethefunk69 It's not that they don't get it. They just don't care.

  • @vintis88 It's not that they don't get it. It's not that they just don't care. It is that this is the way they WANT it.

  • Haha thats funny :D

  • Brilliant!!

  • If this is what has to be done to get attention in Congress, even when the message has been obvious all along, then something's wrong.

  • I am impressed. I am definitely an advocate of artful presentation in venues that normally don't see that sort of thing.

  • Awesome, America is going through some tough times it seems.

  • Priority #5, Non-spontaneous Abortion and fire up the GOP base about non-spontaneous abortion.

  • This is one of the most meaningful 'non-speeches' I have heard in a long time. The idea of representatives in Congress was so that the voice of the people could be heard. Not so anymore. We are voiceless and this speech points that out most poignantly and precisely. Should we give up on the system? I would hope not, for if the people give up, the last resort is revolution and remaking our government.

This could be the only way to assure the people's voice is heard in the halls of power. Revolt!

  • @journeyer58

To what end? To establish another venal legislature? Legislature will always be capricious, insidious, and dubious. It's inescapable.

  • I've got to say, that was kick ass!!! ...and probably along the lines "If you can't SAY anything nice, don't SAY anything at all." He sure found a loop hole in that phrase!!!

  • Actions speak louder than words! He drove home a point.. the Republicans are doing absolutely nothing for this country except stonewalling those that do. Year after year people keep voting them into office... why?

  • @gregoryaparker I think I might have the answer to that today Americans rely more on emotion than tangible facts I mean think about it why do idiots like Glen Beck and Palin get support? because they know the rhetoric or in other words talk that stimulate the American people We don't care about statistic all we care about is if a guy can make you do things just by scaring you into doing them- it astounds me that a high percentage of people in America are like that That's what republicans do best

  • @gregoryaparker I no longer vote for Incumbents and resolved not to do so years ago. I detest scare tactics used by some of our elected officials during elections. It's simple enough to go online and look up voting records of those that may have served previously. I try not to vote for people that have proven they don't give a crap about their constituents. I need to start getting out to more rallies though, the idiots in my district voted in an utter twat(Dan Lungren).

  • Whoa damn! The look in his eyes as he pulls away the last sheet! O_O

  • What does G.O.P stand for?

  • @Vire70 Getting Over Paid!

  • @Vire70 Grand Old Party. It's a nickname for conservatives.

  • @DCStream When I was a kid, I thought it meant government of the people. Ahhh, childhood!

  • @DCStream It's the party of Lincoln! They still tout that like Lincoln would be in favor of them now.

  • This needs to be played as a commercial on every channel. Wake the country up from the GOP's deception.

  • This is going in my favorites. I love this.

  • I don't like the completely negative message of what he did. Seems like the grown men and women up there can't actually discuss priorities and debate without first flinging shit at each other. It reminds me of kindergarten minus the shit flinging. Still, the way he carried out the "speech" was a really interesting idea. I'll give him props for that.

  • That was the most badass thing I've ever seen a congressman do.

  • ooooo artsy fartsy

  • You have to admit, but G.O.P. is one hell of an evil sons of b*tches.

Gotta agree with democratic dude on this one, the republican party just ain't the same.

  • Where's the jobs Speaker Boenher?

  • Meanwhile, Republicans still weren't listening.

  • "I'm on the pavement thinkin' about the goverment......"

  • This just about made my night. :) Thank you so much for posting this. As for the speech itself, I have to say I like it. Simple and to the point.

  • *salutes him*

  • man this guy was ANGRY

  • surely he doesn't need to lick his fingers EVERY time he rips off a page.

    Interesting idea though.

  • @Cooley47TD Depends on the paper and so on, I've had times where I've needed to do it just reading a book, and it's an effective way to grab just the one page you're after, rather than 2 or 0. To me it didn't matter how often.

  • Fricking amazing

  • those poor trees :P

  • @TheIrishlonewolf Trees are a renewable resource unlike plastic :D

  • I don't understand how the Demies are comlaining about the state of the US when it's the Demies in power?

  • @aveyowyns The Democrats don't really have the power that they did in 2009. With the Republican Majority in the House, they can't pass much of their agenda, and therefore the Republicans can send their crazy ideological bullshit to the Senate. Ofcourse, the Senate is majority Democratic, which means that the Republican nonsense usually dies there. Essentially, no one gets anything done.

  • @ZooseyBear

    I see...

"No one gets anything done..." Except that which upsets the Demies, then?

*On a different note: It is senseless for people to condemn or change a system that allows for what they do not want to allow using the very same system.

  • wtf stop wasting paper idiots.

  • Giant note pad for president.

  • That was delicious.

  • That was so gimmicky I could see the adult characters in south park acting that way.

  • @nyarlotep, I think it had to be to get people's attention. Otherwise, it would just be more white noise, drowning in a sea similar sounding speech.

  • @DarkMatter2525, sea *of similar

  • @DarkMatter2525 Yes I understand that and understood the message; but the problem with this kind of statements is that is too easy to fall into the realm of ridicule or being ridiculed for it.

  • What a powerful, er... "speech". Really, though. This makes a good point.

  • ...So the democrats are promoting jobs in logging by wasting paper?

  • @TruthVsLiars In the words of the cool cat himself "Why Ike, whatever do you mean?" You failed to provide any info, other than "um.. I don't like them" You know my policy. Back it up, or get out, man.

  • @ProportionalResponse Greg, you and all your loon libs are too stupid to notice I am saying stop spreading propaganda. Don't put up politians at least 95% of them are liars.

  • @TruthVsLiars 94% of statistics are made up on the spot. 36% of people will believe me. And it's only propaganda if it's misleading. Nut up or shut up - say something about the video instead of bitching that we're biased.

  • @UnreasonableSanity Well, I can only criticize a video if I think it will make a difference. If not it dosen't do any good. It's like telling someone that they are an alcoholic. If the person won't listen it makes no difference. Until people stop believing Congress Democrat/Republican lies I can't help anyone. Sometimes I have to wake people up.

  • @TruthVsLiars So we have to believe you first, then you can tell us what to believe. Sweet. How you about you make your case that Congress lies, and if we find it compelling then we can talk?

  • @TruthVsLiars, you're making yourself look pretty bad, man. Address the points made. They guy in this video used around 500 characters. You have the same and all you got is "heads in asses"?

  • @TruthVsLiars Why don't the TeaTards get their Biblical suppositories out of their asses and stop doing the bidding of big oil? If these guys were the ones participating in the Boston Tea Party they would have helped the East India Company destroy American tea businesses.

  • @TruthVsLiars Your screenname is misleading because it suggests you have interest in the truth while your comment shows that your only interest is name-calling. If you were so concerned with the "truth," you would articulate your point in an intelligent manner and provide evidence as to why this video is "retarded." Oh and your use of the word "retarded" is misleading as well because it suggests that you can form an intelligent thought when clearly all you did was generalize and name call.

  • Remember Republicans: Only you can save the environment by going digital and using less paper. Save a tree

  • Good thing it didn't come up with "Save the Rainforest" ;) but then that's not something the republican party care about.

  • @lanceawatt "Save the clock tower!!! hehe (wonders if you'll get that ref.)

  • @ProportionalResponse That's easy. Back to the Future. A central part of the opening plot and the climax!

  • @Nightmare060 Love those flicks!

  • @ProportionalResponse I was lucky enough to see it for the first time in a special anniversary showing at my nearest cinema. I was always a 90s kid, but I still felt much nostalgia for the film!

  • @ProportionalResponse I would like to know how are we suposed to do that when the lightning hit on November 12 1955 10:04PM
