  • I think the cutter he is using is this one: Classic-Tungsten-Carbide-Wheel-Cutter/... YOu can find it on amazon.

Do not buy lowes Kobalt Glass Cutter... It does not cut well at all. I would rather have one quality glass cutting wheel than the five poor quality ones that comes with the kobalt.

  • Thank you so much for this video! I had the tool to cut glass, but had no idea how to use it. Again, thank you!

  • Isn't pvc a safer option these days than glass?

  • You are a beginner,isn`t it?

  • Thank you and God Bless you too!!!!

  • No offense, but that score sounded horrific. Should always wipe the glass clean where you're about to score. Also, use an oil cutter. It's more important to use an oil cutter when cutting longer pieces or lami. That fletcher you got wont last more than a month.

  • Thanks for the video Lonny. VVhat thickness of glass will the handheld glass cutter work well up to in your opinion?

  • @OurTroopsRule The handheld glass cutter has worked on every piece of glass I have tried so far. But the glass I have been using it on is all window glass from houses that I got for free. All types of thickness, but nothing that was super thick. That is as far as my experience goes for glass cutting. I hope that helps and thank you for the question, Lonny

  • Once I tried to cut tempered glass and it exploded in my hands! Don't try it. I used a diamond wet saw

  • @TheSolarmike You are correct. you can not cut tempered glass at all. It will break on you everytime. I only cut non-tempered glass for my projects. Thanks for the comment, lonny

  • @supergokue1 What about bathroom mirrors is that tampered? I got a old huge bathroom wall mirror that i need to cut down and take to the dump, I bought one of those hand held glass cutters from Home Depot like the one you have featured in the vedio i wanna make sure this will work on the mirrror that i'm cutting.

  • @1998gst4611 I have not tried to cut a mirror yet, but I will make a guess and say that it is not tempered. If I get a chance I will try to cut one and make a video of it real soon. Thanks, Lonny

  • @supergokue1 A mirror is not tempered glass. The best way to know if a piece of glass is tempered is to check on one of the corners and see if it has a logo. If it does then its tempered, and if it doesn't then its not tempered.

  • Dude Congratulations, your video Its Too Clean and easy, i have a question, im from mexico, i want to buy TINTED GLASS CAR and CUT IT, And PUT it into my CAR... because its ilegar to have TINTED the front Glass in my city, but i want to Cut TINTED GLASS and use It in my CAr.. do you think its posible that Idea??

    thnks

  • @ContigoSinTi Hello, I do not think it is a good idea. There are 2 types of glass, saftey and regular. If you try to cut saftey glass it will shatter into a million pieces. You could cut regular glass but if you get in an accident and the window breaks you will have huge pieces of very sharp glass flying all around and someone could get really hert. I hope that helps, Lonny

  • @ContigoSinTi there is more than 2 types of glass, tempered glass, regular glass, laminated glass, anheled glass, in different thickness too with different desing and colors, if u want to buy tinted glass for ur car ur best option is laminated glass and u can get it tint already too, is a safety glass and is under code too!!!!

  • i hear a kity

  • This is wrong. It's pure luck that the glass didn't crack in this case.

  • What if I want to cut a hole in a window? Just use a glass cutter and press hard against the window?

  • @numbah12time I have never tried it, but i do not think it would a clean hole in the glass. I have seen people try it on tv and the glass cracked. Thanks

  • @numbah12time it is possible with a circular cutter or if u want a square cut u have to drill the 4 corners first and then cut it hole to hole...

  • This video really helped me. Thank you for a great tutorial! 5 stars

  • thanks, very useful to me!! do u think i can do the same with mirror?

  • I have not tried it, but I think it should work. As long as it is not tempered. If it is somehow a tempered mirror. when you go to snap it, the mirror will go into a million little pieces. But I have not heard of a tempered mirror. Thanks

  • can you cut different type of glass like car windshield glass or house window glass or just thin art glass?.

  • There are 2 types of glass, Tempered and non-tempered. If you look at a window in your home and see a little white stamp or sticker in one of the corners with a bunch of numbers and letters on it, that is a tempered glass window. It will just shatter all over the place if you try to cut it. If you see no writing in any of the corners of the glass, that is non-tempered glass. It should be just fine to cut.

  • @Pyramidtank the only glass that u can cut is tempered glass, ur windshield is laminated glass meaning 2 pieces of glass with vinyl in between !!

  • cool! but i think your using the gloves wrong?

  • Good and simple. Nice
