  • Deutches Luftwaffe Sieg Heil !!!!!!!!!!!

  • Ohhhh to have had the original sound!!!!

  • I Agree. I'm italian but Germany rulez.

  • Anyone who loves jets (like me) has got to love the ME262. It was the first.

  • it was the first operational fighter

  • The 262 was probably the most badass plane there was in WWII...if the Nazi had planned things earlier, we would be speaking German today!

  • ahhhhh..yes it was badass ie BAD ASS THE ME262 could only be flown for about 30odd flights the the metal used for the making of the Junkers Jumo jet engine would literally fall apart the metal used wasn't heat resistant enough to fully protect the engine because they didn't have the technology to create a stronger more heat resistant metal at that time

  • Yes the 262 was very cool. First jet fighter developed by a country that was getting the crap bombed out of them. They produced them too. Hitler the dumbass interfered with the program.

BUT THE ATOMIC BOMB WOULD HAVE DECIDED THAT WAR.

  • that's fucking british propaganda you idiot. Hitler did not even want war with the west, he just wanted to reclaim lost territory due to the versailles treaty.

  • Not so. In his own words, he wanted to "Dominate the European Continent, and eventually the world." Try reading books instead of gaming magazines...

  • "Bullshiters" of GE aircraft engine says that they are the first to produce jet engines in the world.... They must say that they are the first to have stolen a design of jet engines, not the first to have built. so stupid they are !

  • nice plane, i think my friend has one, but its only an rc plane 262 version.

  • Anyway, apart from my other comments, it is a beautiful looking aircraft! Sad all that know how was diluted by the Yankee chaps and the Ruskies, imagine what would have been by keeping those technocrats together!

  • Walshy Walshy! you sad little prick! How are you? Oh, you've been suspended! Do drop us a line some time! would love to hear from you.

  • I believe the Me 262's jet engines were axial-flow (the kind used today) while the British engines were radial-flow. The 262's aerodynamics were also far superior to those of the British jets.

  • AlDoughy, are you an engineer? Sadly the german engine engineers, while plagiarisng the Whittle design(OHAIN worked for Whittle in the 20s) they were very weak on metalurgy and high temps. The 262 engines lasted for 8 hours. MTBF on the Whittle was 1500 hours, he well understood the prblem that is why He is acknowledged by all as the father of this type of engine. Turbines were invented, by the way, By a chap called Parsons!

  • The Gloster Aircraft Company's Meteor was the first in history, however the Germans made the ME262 the first OPERATIONAL jet aircraft, 9 months before the Meteor was oprational, fact fans.

  • it was the first jet fighter ever created. German engineers are the best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever'll be.

  • Do I percieve we have a German who is not afraid to be proud? Well boy you should be. Slightly wrong on the facts though but never mind

  • Hey Walshy, I'm not a German, and I'm still 'proud'. When viewed from a purely technological angle, those 'Huns' sure had some ideas. Ideas that we are all still refining 60 years later. I'm not sure where you're going with the 'Whittle' thing though. Surely, if his designs were so good, why didn't his countrymen follow up on them? Because it was too simple to be true. And he couldn't afford the 5 pounds to secure the patent. So it went 'open market', and the rest is history.

  • well i guess we should bless them for not getting patent for the idea:)

ideas this good should be shared:)

  • no it was the first jet fighter to see combat

  • The first jet fighter in the history.

  • Always its great to see original german footage of the ww2 planes.

Also the 262 seens to fly so smoothly.
