I am HUGE supporter of both of these women, I have been since they both have started out. Carrie is an amazing singer--I have seen her live, she is beyond AWESOME! Carrie sings about getting drunk ("Last Name") and losing a husband ("Just A Dream"), things she has never experienced in her life. If you ask me, she's kind of a poser. If she wants to make money out of songs other people wrote for her that aren't genuine, let her. Taylor will always be better, more responsible and write songs that actually apply to her own life and her fans'.

Taylor writes songs that are somewhat her story and her being a teen is shown in most of her songs like fifteen, love story and back to december...while carrie sings songs that are more deeper and emotional...the two of them have their unique style of singing and writing their songs...i'm not saying that taylor is not better than carrie or vice versa...my point in here is that if we appreciate their vocals and uniqueness we may be able to like both of them and not make a fuss about it....

Taylor and Carrie are completely different artists. Taylor is teen, Carrie is adult contemporary. You cannot compare two artists from different categories because it makes no sense. Personally, I love them both, and I do not understand why fans of either of them would feel it is okay to hate. I am HUGE supporter of both of these women, I have been since they both have started out. Carrie is an amazing singer--I have seen her live, she is beyond AWESOME! Taylor is a great singer as well, even though I have not heard her live, I am pretty sure that she is still good, because if she wasn't then how come she is still so popular? They both have their own very unique styles of music. I believe that Taylor should at least go to pop and country; Carrie should stay at country, hands down! (:

Taylor can't sing live, but her lyrics about crushes and love and style, and her humbleness are what make fans love her. Her songs are catchy and cute and say what every girl has on her mind. Carrie is more mature, so she doesn't appeal as much to young people. But I definitely think that Taylor shouldn't be famous for her voice because it is not good. Carrie has a very powerful voice and is definitely the better singer of the two.

You can't compare the 2. Yes, they are both female country singers. But that would be like comparing Elvis and MJ. They are both great in their own right. One has stronger vocals then the other. Throughout her career she's only gained 5 #1's. When Carrie has record of 13 consecutive #1's. And her 14th single will peak by or shortly after Christmas. Carrie is the better artist of the two. Even her song Change that's played in this video has slightly distorted audio, and it still sounds better than Taylor.

She didn't even get her record deal until she was in her 20's. And I never said Carrie didn't have a more powerful voice than Taylor's, however the power of your voice does not necessarily determine how great of a musician a person is. All I'm saying is that I believe Taylor is a better MUSICIAN, and it is proven fact that she's a better writer than Carrie.

@rhays203 Carrie is a better songwriter,just because she doesn't write all her songs doesn't mean anything.Taylor's body of lyrical work is beyond cliche, juvenile, and quite frankly, REDUNDANT at this point. If you've heard one Taylor song, you've heard them all. It's sad how she's shown absolutely zero artistic growth since she was 15, and she's now what, 21? Her shtick WILL dry up one day soon, and so will her record sales. Carrie is not only a better vocalist (that really obvious)

He also says that she's going to be around for A LONG TIME. Scott Borchetta of Big Machine Records says that Taylor's 1 of those artists whose fans will continue to grow with her as she continues to write music that people can relate to at each stage of life. Rolling stone gave her 4 out of 4 stars on Speak Now, and you say she can't write?

@AshleelovesCarrie What really makes me laugh though is that you say her record sales will drie up! Funny considering both Speak Now AND Fearless were the #1 top selling albums ALL GENRES. Plus the fact that Taylor took home ALBUM OF THE YEAR at the 2010 Grammy's, Artist of the Year @ this years AMA's and Billboard Music Awards, and she was CMA's EOY this year (and in 2009). They also just got word that her tours have grossed over $100 MILLION. Carrie's success is incomparable to Taylor's.

Being the first time that has happened since 2005 when 50 Cents album was released. And Taylor Swift has consecutively sold more albums (including digital tracks) than any other artist for three years in a row! Plus, she was also named the top-played artist of 2010. And in 2009 she took the #1 COUNTRY song for Love Story, and she had a other songs in the top 10 as well.

And Carrie did have a record deal at the age of 14 :) but something happened illegally so she was never signed I'm bot for sure what happened but she did have a record label and she made an album called Broken Wings.

Well if you realy want to analyze them from a good perspective, Taylors voice, is very girly, where carrie has a more soul and warm voice.
thats one, then two, carrie is older, so shes preaching to a different musical crowd so while you may be an older person who loves carrie, taylor preaches to the young crowd. Theres also the fact that taylor writes all her own things while carrie dosnt, their both very different without any similarities, except their both blonde =)
