Nice vid man. Only thing I'd say is be careful...more than once that spear is pointing right at your chest or head in that video...once wrong kick with your fin...and you'll spear yourself. Be Safe
Nice catch man also letting the little ones go nice job, here in Aruba we use bottle of soap to get them out, when u spot a hole just squeeze a soap in the hole and after a few seconds they come out of there holes u can catch them with ur hands or u can use a hook, and less chens of destroying the house, so next time u come u could fin another one in the same hole... keep it up man nice job once again...peace
Hey the video was cracker, really enjoyed the shots. Must admit I'm with Alekscee, freaked me a bit to see the gun pointing in your personal space, I don't trust safetys. Really enjoyed the seeing the little ones sent on thier way well done. BTW how are you cooking them / eating them? Cheers
our tako's here are 2-3 times as big and when tickled with the spear gun dont come out of their hole! I will make a tako vid soon so make sure u subscribe :)
Id just be carefull pointing a loaded gun towards u when showing off the catch, u can never 100% trust the trigger mech, just a thought :)
nice. Very new to it but I suck looking for takos. Aside from diving with friends your video seems more informative. My goals are to pull up my first tako and "spear" that elusive group of uhus i see around my surf break!
1.Takos-Look for holes with funny colored rubble and invertebrate shells around it.That's a sign that he dug in and ate stuff and left the skeletons.
2.Uhus-Once you see a pile of Uhus, swim the opposite direction as if you don't care they exist.Uhu's will sense that and want to check you out.Look for a nice crevice or shelf to hide in. Dust the ground or scratch the reef, but make sure your well hidden.Depends how tame the pile is.Sometimes just laying on the bottom and dusting is enough.
1LB limit per Tako, no bag limit. But I think about 10 or so for 1 person is plenty. Unfortunately there are people who catch as a part time job, and catch 150lbs at a time and sell it. It pisses me off.
lol isnt biting the eye not needed?

Yeah, if they continue to take 150lbs a day- they'll wipe out the population. They need to be conservative.
