If the recording date is correct, this can't be the NBC Symphony Orchestra - it didn't exist in 1936. Both the New York Philharmonic and the NBC orchestras recorded this overture under Toscanini - this one sound more like the NBC version.
You're right, the first concert with the NBC Orchestra in 1937.
On my CD there are 9 Overtures of Rossini, the two oldest are from 1936, it is probably the Philharmonic Orchestra of New York at that time the Maestro conduct this orchestra
Beh, non c'è raffronto possibile. Toscanini e Rossini sono uniti da un filo doppio; qualche libertà sugli staccati, ma lui è Toscanini. La ricerca del climax genera una tensione emotiva unica e a volte devastante
