aamir khan is half pathan and half tajic, tajic roots r from herat, the other side is from the niazi tribe.

zayed khan is an afghan but when i met him, he told me that "it could be". but in fact everyone knows that sanjay khan and feroz khan are/were pashtuns, so some of these guys feel ashamed to say that they r pashtuns. so forget them. speak pashto, dance ur attan, look handsome thats what pathans r, these guys just look a lil bit handsome, thats it.

I believe that Amir Khan's family were originally Tajik from Herat, Afghanistan. Salim Khan was born in Madhya Pradesh, and his *ancestors* were part Pashtuns. AQ Khan - the notorious Pakistani nuclear scientist who was rogue - was also from MP and his ancestors were Pashtun.

Hey, I love Afghanistan, as it has influenced by homeland (Indian Kashmir) and I have nothing against Afghans. But I hate the present stock of Khans, none of whom can actually act (except for Aamir Khan).

Pashtoons are the native people of Afghanistan..

You have to read on history to understand all this. All those who are called 'Khan' is for sure Pathans. But the rest who also are named Muslim names (in bollywood) are mostly Pashtoons/Pathans 2. Even if they cant speak Pashto. They are Pathan in some way, maybe their grand grandparents were Afghans ect.

Because India and Pakistan was Afghanistan once .I tried to read about them, and it WAS true! (about the Muslim and Khan actors)

Madhubala, was most definately afghan, since she said so herself, and the fact her father didn't let her marry her kishore kumar because he was a mized indian pashtun while she was pure. She came from Present day Peshawar, which was actually Afghanistan around her time and her fathers..

@beautiful94551 The origin of term "KHAN" is Mongolia. In Mongolia the term was used for ruler. Invaders like Ghenghis Khan brought this term to Afghanistan and even Turkey (Kagan in Turkey). Ethnic Pashtuns just adopted it from their Mongol masters. Many Pashtuns hate to use the term 'Khan' because of it's Mongolian origin.

Well there actually is a difference. If you're a Pathan, you're basically from Afghanistan or from an Afghan family or descent. Pashtuns are people who are from Eastern and Southern Afghanistan either from Khost or close to the border of Pakistan and Afganistan. Afghans generally speak Dari (Afghan dialect of Farsi), Pashto, and some may speak Urdu. Pashtuns generally speak Urdu and Pashto. Pashtuns can be from Uzbekistan, Afghanistan, or even Pakistan.
