My GoodWill store is a bunch of moneygrubbing bastards. They charge ridiculous prices for things that you don't even know if they will break down later on or not.
But, I got a nice Realistic boombox for about $5 though!
Charity or not...they should realize they can sell more things if they charge a cheaper price. $5 for a T-Shirt? C'mon now! I was just at the Salvation Army today, and they wanted $130 for a kitchen table that swayed more than a drunken Irishman! ...and $10 for a file cabinet that was 85% rust!
They sure aren't doing any charity to the people that shop in their junky junk stores...
Nice finds!. You never know what you can find at any thrift stores. Last year i came across a 1987 Pioneer laser disk player for $8.00 at a local Goodwill store. This Pioneer model features a "red diode" laser which reads thru any smudges/scratches on the laser disk with no issues. One of a few models they used the exspensive "red diode" laser. Retail price was $2,200 at its time. Plays like new still.
That Yorx turntable is the legendary Space Saver made in the early 1980's! That was one of the only good products they made before they took a turn for the worse.
i got a bom box something like that from a thrift shop there were going to toss it because the caste did not work but it had a short wave raideo on it you can lissen to all sorts of things at night on it and faraway from other contrys the coolist thing i got for free
At 1:50 Oh my God I haven't heard that song in years, I personally think that's a good thing because I hated that song in 1998, and I'm still not all that impressed with it today.
@passionateaboutmusic It's called Run, it's by Collective Soul, I liked Collective Soul in the mid 90's, but when Run came out as a songle I stopped caring, I hated that song back then, I still don't like it much now.
@rier90. I still have the first compact tape recorder (1979, Sony). It still works like a dream. So solid! It's almost impossible to find compact tape recorders today. And if you do, they break right away!
Wow!!!! They just make stuff this good anymore - awesome you frequent thrift stores ;) it's the ONLY way to shop - 3 days at a Goodwill I found a working Hitachi 1990 LaserDisc player!!!!!! Love your record player!!!!
SORRY I MADE MY COMMENT at the start of the video and don t have see your wonderful boombox with the turntable and the little transistor is nice too that s the kind of units that i collect cheers
very very nice unit i have a radiocassette sanyo but i don t remember the model that look quite like this one when i was young a long time ago love to find one ah souvenirs d enfance!
Very nice turntables, aren't they? I recently picked up a 4 speed Garrard, and it sounds better than any that I have owned. It's part of the "H.H. Scott Stereo Compact" system, featured in a video on my channel. Thanks for commenting!
Are you Talking about the Garrard turntables? yeah they are very nice mine is a 3 speed 33,45,78 Garrard turntables are made in England very high quality too
No, definitely not. They were mostly sold in discount stores and priced accordingly. That turntable in the video is very light and made from veneer covered particle board, held together with glue!
I have a portibale CD player I got for Christmas od 1996, and it still plays. It's one of the first CD players to have skip protection which is only 3 seconds of protection. The original price for the player was $130 new.
DAMN!!! Not only it costs about $400 when it was new, but it costs even more a year for the batteries! I'd be pissed if I put fresh new batteries, and the low battery indicator began flashing half way through a CD.
super there is a lot of vintage audio to save from the trash i have a collection of boomboxes i will make videos one of this days i found them to fleamarkets for very little prices here in the east of france thank you for your videos of your nice collection

mjgriff74 2 years ago
It's called 'Slow Hand', by the Pointer Sisters.

Thank you! It was driving me mad. I recognised the song but couldn't, for the life of me, remember what is was.
