  • Impossible saves - 70% luck, 30% skill...it's true, i'm goalie too

  • 2 people pushed the dislike button because they got scored on!

  • 2 people pushed the dislike button because theygot scored on!

  • 2 people got scored on!

  • These are great saves because the goalie never gave up on the play and knew what to do in these emergency situations.

  • At 1:52 it looks like the puck went in with the glove!

  • @powderfinger09 his glove was partially over, but the mesh of the glove where he caught the puck was on the line.

  • @TheGoalieGuru

Youre a retard that has clearly never played as a goalie

  • TheGoalieGuru is butthurt because he couldn't make the minors

  • For example, look at the save at 2:19. The goalies poor technique on a lateral move puts him into an awful save position and if you stop the video right before the player releases the puck at 2:20, it was more bad shooting then a great save because he had the whole net and released a crappy, weak back hand that he would score 99 out of 100 times. The goalie was LUCKY!!!

  • @TheGoalieGuru so what you're saying is that the goalies had absolutely no idea where the puck was going when they made these saves? they reacted to the shot in the best way possible make up for lost ground. that is a great save if you are able to compensate for your own let up. It is impossible to play a game without ever being out of position so you will have to make these kinds of saves if you plan on being a good goaltender.

  • @Xpuckstopper33X They had no idea where the puck was going!!! They didn't track these pucks. Ask the goalies and they will tell you they were lucky! If you could watch them in slow motion you would see the limb is extended before the puck is released from the stick in most cases.

  • @TheGoalieGuru so your idea of a great save is just a butterfly save since it represents 100% execution? you are so clueless it astounds me.

  • @Xpuckstopper33X If you think a goalie reaching behind him in desperation is a great save than you are the one that is clueless sir!

And yes, a retreating semi butterfly save with a well trained lateral transfer rotation execution would be a great save if it hit the goalie in the belly button because there was NO LUCK INVOLVED and years of training to master it!!!

  • @TheGoalieGuru years of training to master getting hit in the stomach with a puck? i'm pretty sure even YOU could do that sitting behind your monitor acting like you know everything about goalies when you really don't. a goalie making a desperation save is a great save because it's a save that they really shouldn't make and they do.

P.S. stop trying to sound professional by using sophisticated words that have close to no meaning when strung together as you so desperately tried above.

  • @Xpuckstopper33X Your P.S. officially tells me you know very little!

    Peace, and God bless you.

  • @TheGoalieGuru i love stupid people like u you couldn;t be a goalie for ur life a goalie DOES FOLLOW the puck the hell do u think they get their chest in the way first?

cause its the first step and then when they duke u out u know where the puck is going its just a matter of if u can reach it in time in other words YOU ARE A MORON NOOB

  • @TeamPowerHand Your grammar and spelling is terrible.

  • @TheGoalieGuru Its called being off school if I wanted to always spell and use correct grammar i would but guess what? I don't give a shit cause that's all you could come up with as a response so essentially your a fail goalie bitch :3 also noob while your leaving make sure you actually play the game before you criticize, okay? thanks

  • @TeamPowerHand Go play childens' card games leave the hockey playing to the men.

  • @TheGoalieGuru XD your the she-man here lol you couldn't stop a puck aimed for your face you'd duck or flinch, little pussy. So again noob get the fuck out or just get your ass handed to you. You just soo happened to have sooo much spare time to look at my channel thats just sad man, sad. God you make real goalies look like whimps i hope no noobs in hockey like you read your comment and agree

  • @TheGoalieGuru You're an idiot dude, obviously you've never played real hockey before. Probably just NHL on the XBox. Go back to whatever hole you crawled out from under, quit talking shit about something you'll never be able to do. Definitely butt-hurt from getting deked outta your shorts. Must be a redneck to boot, but from the red lamp and not the sun. Maybe if you played something harder than you oldtimers/co-ed beer league shit you might know wtf you're talking about.

  • @Kickazzgoalie Did you play and coach Junior hockey? check out my website...goalietech.webs.com

  • @TheGoalieGuru You are clearly fucking retarded. these guys play in the fuckin show man, you have no place to chirp ANYONE in the show bud

  • @TheGoalieGuru Is hard to not lose your position on ice after the first save

  • I get a real kick out of what people think are great saves. None of these are great saves! They are lucky saves that they simply reached back for and hoped it hit them. A great save takes years of skill training to master. Like a shooter making a great deke!

None of these are skill. My mother can fall backwards and reach out an arm and extend it. But she can't retreat backwards while maintaining gap control, maintain balance, and then lateral transfer rotate into a butterfly on a one timer.

  • Amazing video, I subscribed to you. GO JOSE THEODORE!!!

  • Awesome saves!

  • tht looks like luongo

  • who makes the save at 20 seconds?? i want to see it in full speed.

  • @goalman15 that would be curtis sanford

  • @goalman15 on vancouver its luongo on san jose its mason im not sure which one u want

  • needs more fleury

  • @Fransworth5000 he is my favorite goalie, but i try not to bias my videos towards one goalie or one team. part 3 has a lot of him if you want to go check it out

  • 3:33 woops i ment 3:33

  • damn... 3:35 is sick

  • 1:49 Did that seriously happen?

  • Pause at 1:52 It looks like it went past the line

  • 0:20 ... unreal.

  • 2:59 is a bad ass save nabokov has to be the best goalie in the NHL

  • nice song, nice musik, nice quali = 5*

  • miller!!!! best goalie ever

  • hellz yeah

  • Comment removed

  • That goalie at 0:43 or 0:42 was lucky cause his glove is on his right hand if he wasn't that hande with his glove that would have been a goal.

  • @lucasn23 of course and all others was lucky because have glove on left hand... you are not a goalie...

  • @lucasn23 of course and all others was lucky because have glove on left hand... you are not a goalie...

  • @lucasn23 of course and all others was lucky because have glove on left hand ... you are not goalie, because goalie cannt say this...

  • @rermix2 actually i am a goaile... o.o I play on ice i play midgets for Mission AA

  • @lucasn23 regardless, if he had a left glove it would have been a blocker save, not impossible to make by any means

  • @Xpuckstopper33X yeah but what about a rebound.. think dude.. his glove was in his right hand so he was able to CATCH it for a whistle Now he could covor it on the blocker.. but idk.. It could be a rebound and goal ... Yes it would be a save if it werre his blocker.. i ment he was lucky cause his advantage for that shot was with his glove on the right hand.. if it were his blocker it woulda rebounded and MAYBE goal idk i cant see into the future ..Get what im saying now ?? ffs

  • @lucasn23 not all rebounds come straight out, also, the offensive player pulls away after the shot so the defender would have gotten there first

  • @lucasn23 Thing with the blocker is, you turn your shoulder when you make the save so the rebound actually is pushed to the side boards. Thats one reason the blocker is slightly curved (I think). So, even if it was his blocker he still would of made the initial save.

  • @ShadowStalker08 no the blocker is curved because it helps with the angle.. so it goes up a little... and you don't turn your shoulder ALL the time.. you can do w/e with it so im not saying this happned im not a fortune teller but anyway, what if it hit his blocker and some goalies cant turn their shoulder to push it to the side when they have 60-90 mph slapshot/wristshot some people cant react that fast.. so think of THAT.

  • Comment removed

  • @lucasn23 The reactions actually turn into reflexes, wich means most NHL players know how to react to these situations. As for turning your shoulder, your right. It may take to long but the blocker is curved already so that should help the puck rebound off to the side boards anyway. And 60-90 MPH pucks arn't to bad once you get use to tracking them. And why think about it when I live it?

  • @ShadowStalker08 .. "why think about it when i live it" oh yeah im sure you're in the NHL.. i know you have SUCH a life to go on the computer and pretend your nhl players.. get a life. and if you WERE then you would have better things to do. so stfu.

  • @lucasn23 If your a goalie, then you should understand that a save with the blocker would work. All your doing is trolling, and I don't see you being a goalie for midget double A, maybe you are maybe you arn't? But please, stop trolling your not cool.

  • @ShadowStalker08 Do you know me? No... Do you know what i play? NO.. all i'm saying is i doubt you play in the NHL. and you saying i dont do what i do... sorry but it's not gonna magically make me not play hockey.. does that make sence? Also, If you were a NHL goalie wtf would you be doing argueing with a 16 year old.. if you reply, you're only proving my point.

  • @lucasn23 You play goalie don't you? And no im not NHL, but I face 60-80 MPH pucks all the time, and a save with a blocker is no where near impossible. And I just can't take your word that your 16 double A player. Maybe you are, I don't really give a shit. Im just saying that a 75 MPH puck going blocker side is not impossible to block. You should know, shouldn't you?

  • @ShadowStalker08 i never said impossible.. -.- stop taking shit out of my moulth dude... this whole arguement is fucking pointless i just said some guy with a save.. caught it , with the glove on his right hand. so he didnt have to use his blocker, therefore a whistle is blown... in other words a faster covor up. and blocker saves are not IMPOSSIBLE.. they're just like any other save skill or instinct

  • @ShadowStalker08 and after i said that you and some other dude replied then it got all wierd.. so.. i never really tried to argue just stated a fact -.-.... not with you.. but with some other guy.

  • @lucasn23 Makes sense, no hard feelings. I just got caught up with the argument. And yeah, the glove save would of stopped play completely.

"Our first priority was staying alive, our second was stopping the puck."

  • @ShadowStalker08 alrighty, man thanks.. haha.. finnaly someone who's not ingorant and stubborn :D .. lol to be honest that was my first youtube fight with some other guy :/ i've been on the computer more cuase, my season ended so 1-3 weeks break.. idk if you know the travel team "Mission" ..but i'm in tryouts for them i had them this morning, yesterday. and tommarow morning

  • i now NHL has the best player in the world!!!but its not deficult do score on a goali....lake Ribero....hi suck........

  • are you serious. i want to see you take ten shots on an NHL goalie and guarantee you will not score one.

  • 10 shots? i doubt a regular person will score 30 shots

  • @Xpuckstopper33X i agree

  • 1:52 was definetly a goal

  • @mansonnite

not at all, theres a clip from that game just after it that shows the ref waving it off. Also, you have to understand that because the back of the glove is over the line doesn't mean the puck is

  • I'm a wild fan and I saw the save at 1:27 : That was robbery!

  • canucks kick ass! I live in vancouver and i love watching them play! Go canucks, go LUONGO!!

  • that last goal was in go cunucks

  • @codydill123

It was ruled no goal. i trust the officials in Toronto on that one

  • gotta love tim thomas

  • the dude just never gives up

  • always puts his best effort forth, especially last night right at the end of the game, it was close

  • yeah, im not a bruins fan, but i am always amazed by the guy's saves. he is flat out ridiculous

  • yah thats why he was the vezina winner last year and had the jennings trophy too with fernandez, but fernandez only helped a little bit

  • this video was awesome man! i use it all the time to get me pumped up right before a game!

  • thanks dude, im glad you enjoy them! I'm off to a game right now too haha

  • @ruFoRizzle Thats exactly what I'm doing.

I'm a goalie, and I'm watching it right now.

    Hopefully it works :D

  • @ruFoRizzle Same with me awesome video right!

  • This is what they're paid to do...doing the unexpected.

  • thats part of the reason that this sport is so amazing

  • awesome but the last save was in :/

  • no, it was ruled a save. There is one angle where is shows the puck halfway over the line when osgood pushes it back out

  • What is the name of this song?

  • Hell Yeah by Rev Theory

  • The Music is Perfect to this Video 5/5

  • thanks a ton man

  • PERFECT MUSIC GREAT MATCH UP BRO!

  • nice video dude

    -->Subscribe

  • Thank you for making this video. Whenever my friends and I have a hockey game I am always a goalie. Mater of fact I have a game tomorrow at school. Hope I do well!

  • good luck with that dude, ill try to keep it up

  • 0.22 BOBBI LOUUUU

  • 3:03 slashing LOL!

  • Best Vid Ever!

  • NICE VIDEO MAN goalie is the best position in hockey.. pumped up for my game hope i do well..

  • good luck dude!

  • OH WOOOOOOOOW!!! This is the best video of goalie that i see!!!! My idol is a Goalie and my boyfriend too..i play hockey but i'm not a Goalie XD But i think it's the best and beautiful part of ice hockey!!!

Very good job =) And great song too =)

Sorry for my english i'm italian (hockey) girl =)=)=)

  • thank you very much, it means a lot

  • yeah great job on these videos man, thanks

  • IM so pumped for my game today, nice video man

  • im glad i could help and thanks for the compliment

  • at 3:26 that is an amazing save by conklin

  • Good job puckstopper, this is the best pre-match pump-up video on youtube! I watch this before every game I play

  • that video gave me goose bumps. great video. got me very bumped for the hockey season.

  • thanks man, that means a lot to me. Good luck with your season

  • Not to take anything away from the superb goalies, but I feel that half these saves happens because of poor execution from the shooters. Goalie commit with the stick along the ice, the player got an open goal except where the stick is and they shoot at the stick.

  • honestly from a goalie's standpoint, the position is dictated by anticipation. So if i leave the net open, im putting my stick where it will most likely hit the puck, nobody just throws their stick somewhere randomly. its one thing if the player physically shoots the puck at the goalie without the goalie making a move, but if the goalie dives, its usually in anticipation to where the puck is most likely to go

  • Indeed, but once the stick is on the ice, it's up to the player to hit every where else than where the stick is. I'm not saying the goalie is not doing a great job by putting his stick in that position. I'm somewhat saying that the player is doing a bad job NOT putting the puck anywhere else than where the stick is.

  • true but in the player doesnt have all day to shoot that puck, when he sees an open net, he pretty much throws it where he can and its up to the goalie to make the save. I mean there are a good number of players that are patient enough to find the open net, but they usually score so they don't end up on the goalie save reel

  • im not trying to be mean or anything im just saying that some of these saves are ones from part one but from a different angle

  • Not at all. I archive all my clips and none have been reused.

  • steve mason ftw

  • damn straight

  • How the hell did you forget the save of Kipper against Wellwood??????????

  • Look at the description:

    "The best saves from 12/1/08 - 2/3/09."

Kipper on Wellwood and Turco on Toews both werent in that time frame. i just fixed my video software so you can expect part 3 soon.

  • 2:37-2:38 Osgood made the save more dramatic than it really was.

  • That's cause Osgood is a piece of shit. I loved the pathetic look on his face when the Wings lost in Game 7. There's no NHL player I'd love to punch in the face more than Osnogood.

  • agreed

  • I totally agree with you.

  • Your vid is amazing !

  • i think this is an amazing video but i have one question, y didnt you wait till the end of the season to make the video?

  • because there are too many great saves to put into one video :)

  • What editing program do you use cause this is a really good video and where do you get the video clips from?

    Thanks

    my favorite goalie is luongo

  • at like 2:55-3:00 where the guy got a suicide pass and did a backflip thats at my home arena. i was at that game it was played at the whl prince george cougars arena. I SAW THAT GAME!!!!!!!!!

  • 1:31 to 1:45 are 3 sick saves !!!

  • 3:12 and 3:17. Amazing! I love Timmy. he's got a lot going for him. so many great saves on this video!!

  • thanks man, thomas has been great this season. the reason hes so good is because he never gives up on the play

  • it's amazing. when he first came into boston i was unsure because he was pretty inconsistant. but over this past season and a half i've gone from scared, to completely calm while he is in the net haha.

  • Agreed 100%. In game 7 against the Hurricanes, I felt pretty bad when Walker scored in OT. He was SO close to knocking that rebound away. Granted, I wanted the Canes to win, so I was happy about that, but I wish the Bruins won, because they had a better chance of knocking the Pens out.

If only he had dove on the puck there, it might not have been able to get past him. Oh well =/

  • ooo too sick ! nice vid!

  • 1:43 by fleury sick save

  • yeah, hes my favorite goalie. he had some amazing saves during the playoffs too.

  • sweet vid!

  • thanks!

  • :30 Why would he bring it to his forehand, he should've just backhanded it , good save none the less

  • Comment removed

  • those are very good pads. good luck with your new team

  • Great video!!!!

  • thanks, im working on my next one. its been set back due to other school video projects but its coming

  • Nice song choice.

  • That was a good heads-up play by Sanford at 0:22, nice glove by Raycroft at 1:24, Labarbera's golve at 3:07 and Luongo's blocker at 3:35. Very well done.

  • thank you, currently working on the end of the season video and then hopefully a playoff highlight video

  • great work. also waiting for some King Henrik. and how's about some Grateful Dead, Mozart or Willie Nelson instead of all that darn heavy metal? :-)

  • heh, the only thing i like about the music i choose is the energy and the strong down beats to which i can sync the saves to :)

  • that song is definitely NOT metal

  • THE ONLY THING I HAVE TO SAY IS WOW!

  • thank you! im working on my next one for the ending of the season then i might do a playoff video with all the highlights. I just need a song :(

  • the song sirius by the alan parsons project isnt bad

  • I think that song seems a little more suited for a tribute than a highlight video in my opinion. If i decide to make a tribute video, thats first on my list :)

  • Ya your right lol

  • no lundqvist???? in either of the videos????? wtf?????? y you beastinnnnn sonnn

  • The only highlight save ive seen from lundqvist will be in my next video since this was made before his amazing glove save

  • mannnn theres so many saves that lundqvist made that were absolutly redic especially in the playoffs... im tellin you. i jus figured you hated the rangers or sumthing lol

  • Well this video is from 12-1-08 to 2-3-09. The only great save that i saw lunqvist make was his glover near the end of the year against Philly. If you have other regular season saves that i may have missed then be my guest to point them out. And i don't hate the rangers, i don't bias my goalie videos :)

  • lol ok jus makin sure the video is great by the way!

  • i love the devils but they had the biggest choke ivee ver seen

  • great vid, whats the song?

  • you need to get antero niittymaki's crazy glove save in some video!!!!!!

  • Check my last video, its in that one :)

  • Nice to see someone give Ozzie a little credit...this song would do better in a playoff tribute.

  • thanks. yeah but i had no songs in mind at the time so when i found it i just used it. Im having trouble figuring out a song for my next video

  • paralyzer by finger 11 would be a great song for one of your goalie videos

  • it's a great song but i dont think it has enough energy to it like a lot of my other songs do. I have a few songs in mind and might mess around with them and see, but any suggestions are helpful

  • I love lamp

  • No Kipper save on Wellwood? That was by far one of the top 3 saves this season and it's not in the video, but still, nicely done man

  • that also happened after this video was made. Don't worry, i know which saves have happened, that is definately going to be in my next video.

  • I know I already commented or whatever, but I just wanted to add that I like how you had the announcer's voices behind the song. Just a little positive constructive criticism.

  • thank you, it was a little soft at most points, i needed to turn it up on vegas because its wayyyy to low. Thank you tho

  • Some of the things goalies can do is incredible, it's my favorite position to watch and play. I only play street hockey, but i do play against kids who do play for the school. One plays for Exeter in N.H but when you make saves that are great, youre not feeling scared at all before...truly amazing

  • if you ever get the chance to you play ice hockey, you will enjoy it so much more. it is honestly the best sport and position ever. But dont forget, it all starts with street hockey :)

  • i do plan to play for the school next year, the only thing holding me back is the cost. i'm looking forward to it.

give me a hell, give me a yeah lol

  • yeah the cost is always a pain. especially for the gear. well, look at the bright side, at least your school has a team, i live in california and i have to drive like 30 minutes to get to the nearest rink.

  • we have to drive an hour. Our school, and another school joined for a team and our rink is an hour away lol, takes home ice to a whole new meaning

  • oh wow, thats a bummer. An hour is a long ways off. I wish my school had a team still, it would be much more fun and i would know the players from my school instead of meeting them all at the rink.

  • Yea the cost is always a pain in the ass...but i recently got a bargain at a yard sale that was happening on the highway...haha yea i was driving home from school and there was a yard sale happening and i decided to go there and some old lady was selling

"V2 Vaughn" pads and they were just my size and the lady was selling them for $100...i thought it was to good to be true so i bought them apparently her son moved away and didnt take em..lol lucky me...:P
