BIG UPDATE! The dual boot guide (see vid description) now allows CM7 and CM9 side by side on internal storage, and there are scripts to move the alt system back to primary for updates or back up, making the whole thing much more practical and flexible. If I get a chance, I'll put up a vid walkthrough.
@b0nz88 Easily. Just follow the "Getting Started" link in the vid description and you'll find links for emmc install and for SD install. Do both, substituting CM9 and a compatible gapps in one of them, and there you go. The emmc install in that case won't be able to use the SD card for storage.
@Paced98real Probably one of two things: corrupted download of the file, so re-download, or you didn't re-partition to 1GB /data 5GB /media, as mentioned in the pre-requisites of the dual-boot guide.
@snipe88 Everything's in the 'More Info' links, including a disclaimer that this process should probably not be your first run at either altering the NC or using ClockworkMod. Take a look at the "getting started" link, and think about making a CM7 SD card first.
@TheTaosaur Well this wouldn't be my first run. I did root my NC using LockerGnome's guide for Nook 1.2, but that ends up with an awkward hybrid between the Nook stock OS and Honeycomb. I'd really prefer a clean dual boot between the two. I presume I could use your process and just use CM7 instead of the CM9 alpha?
I have the newest software version 1.4.1, it was purchased in late nov.Is this able to be rooted? Not sure read if this version needs to be rolled back to 1.4.0.and then done. The video was great by the way
Great vid!. I just got an NC on 1.4.1. Is there a tutorial and download links to everything I would to root and flash CM7 on the internal like you did before you dual booted? Thanks for any help.
@dvalle07 There's no need to root before starting this process unless your goal is rooted stock, but if you hit the "Getting Started" link in the description, you'll find an overview of what you can do with the NC and links to the different guides.
The B&N market issues mentioned at the end may be addressed by flashing the 1.4-to-alt-partition update file found under Other Resources in the Dual Boot Guide. It's been suggested that there's a problem in the froyo-to-dualboot scripts, and a corrected version is being tested.
