the thing is, heyenas aren't the only animals that have been known to do this. birds, crabs, fish, ants and all sorts of dogs do this toe. even domesticated dogs once they get into a pack mentality. the animal just has to be too weak to defend itself and hardly any animal would bother to kill it. it's the wild. not a camp ground.
