  • Adventists believe someone is saved by the grace of God through the faith of Jesus given to us as a gift. As Ephesians 2:8-10 points out, we are saved unto good works. We are not saved by our good works but these are the fruits of our salvation. It is only when a person is saved that they can obey or do the will of God.

  • On this EGWhite question, Seventh-Day Adventists believe she had the prophetic gift. Her writings are however, even from her own counsel, not at the same level with the Bible. She referred to her writings as "the lesser light".

  • This church is the Sacramento Central Seventh-day Adventist Church in Sacramento, California. Doug Batchelor is the senior pastor. For more information, search for us on Facebook, the web and YouTube.

  • used to play this in my school when i was 5 or 6... reminds of good old days

  • Thanks to Debbie K and all the singers. You are a blessing from God.

  • @BelieveandtrustJesus Ellen White wrote from visions given by God, so it is Gods writings

  • Ok people, could you leave your doctrinal differences aside and appreciate a beautiful hymn sung in a church by people who sing well and are gracious enough to post their videos on Youtube that their music can be a blessing to anyone who chooses to partake? Thanks so much!

  • showers of blessings

  • @BelieveandtrustJesus You should care because they would help explain God' writings. Instead of assuming you know who she is and what she is about reading would be fundamental in this case. That is my recommendation, if you believe them or not is not my concern. But making incorrect assumptions is. God bless

  • I know them! that's my church. :^) I run some of the cameras there.

  • @ElenaAdanwen Good work with the video capture...God bless...

  • Praise God for this wonderful and blessed church posting these hymns. It is because of the teachings, testimonials and praise through songs to Him All High, that His holy glory and merciful forgiveness can and is being shared. Amen

  • i love this

  • A religion w/c didnt follow the bible are cults. Example, bible speak the day of worship to God is only saturday. Therefore, sunday worshippers are absolutely cult religion like catholic, jehovah witness, mormon, protestant, anglican, baptist, methodist, presbytarian, evanglical, pentecost, lurtherian, calvinism, millerites, waldensian, hussites, islam, iglesia ni christo, orthodox, hinduism, budhaism, etc. Judaism is saturday worshiper but no Jesus also a cult. Study all church b4 u decide.

  • She's absolutely phenomenal.

  • it's also not a very good song.very plain & boring. just like the people singing it.

  • very good singing but I got a feeling this is not a christian church but some cult

  • @vovkaau

It looks like a church to me. Mostly people in a cult are behaving strange.

  • @valibucuresti Who was and is Ellen White???????????????

Why is she such a controversial part of this church????????

  • Comment removed

  • @vovkaau Ellen White was a cult leader lol.

  • @vovkaau I dit a short research on this because your statement intrigued me and this is what the wikipedia reports about this cult "The Seventh-day Adventist Church (commonly abbreviated SDA...)... the sixth-largest highly international religious body ... The denomination grew out of the Millerite movement in the United States during the middle part of the 19th century and was formally established in 1863. Among its founders was Ellen G. White..." A cult has one leader but here it say founders.

  • @valibucuresti I am so glad you did some research!

    What is a cult?

A religious cult is an organization that has departed from mainstream Christianity to follow doctrines that are not Biblical. They hold their leader's Bible contradictions over the Word of God. The Seventh-day Adventist Church teaches many non-Biblical doctrines.

  • @vovkaau I think its important to state that you obviously have never read Ellen White's writing, if you read it and were a man/women of God you would realize how wrong you were. It is not a cult, you should do your own research not reading what Wikipedia states or what others say about it read her writings for yourself. John 8:32 "And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."

  • Vovkaau mentioned non biblical doctrines. We have a book, fundamentals of SDA faith. Everyone of them gives bible study questions and places to go look them up.

Anyway you and vovkaau seemed interested in our church. I would suggest you both go and do research and ask a minister to answer some questions. Having faith in christ is one thing, following in his footsteps is a life long commitment. If my minister(s) ever told me something that went against my gut feeling. I would tell him!

  • @valibucuresti Hey, being involved in the music part of the SDA church, The statements regarding Ellen G white.. I dont know alot about her, but when people use her to quote scriptures they normally call her "A christian writer" By no means would I value something she said over the value of the bible. ~ The majority of us can have bible studies without Ellen G white, though many people love what she has written. I have seen 1-2 complaints about her writing and inaccuracies.. but not studied.

  • @ancientsolar she is of Satan if she claims (and its a woman too /facepalm) that her writings are equal to the bible, she is not equal to God or her writings its a joke, cults are dangerous.

  • @kentx333 Like i said in an earlier comment, she is regarded as "a christian writer"

When I got baptized I told my minister it is because of my faith in christ. ~ Take that hymn "In christ Alone" and "My hope is built on nothing less" ~ I like the SDA church im in. I feel I belong there.. but my personal testimony has nothing to do with EGW.

The bible will always come first. ~ Im sure there are people who can talk with you about EGW..

  • @ancientsolar what do SDA people believe you need to do to be saved? is keeping the sabbath part of salvation i.e. believing in Jesus + keeping sabbath? Can you please answer that one, I've been curious about it.

  • @kentx333 . ~ Having faith in Jesus dying to saves us is no.1, then we grow in our relationship with Jesus and we try to walk as he did. When we falter, we can count on grace ~ we are aware of sin we feel guilty but we know of grace and try to become stronger in our walk. the commandments are part of the walk.

There are a lot of debates about the sabbath, some people say it was done away with, some people keep it sunday, some Saturday, and some say it doesnt matter what day.

  • @ancientsolar So SDA people don't believe you must keep the sabbath to get to heaven?

  • @kentx333 To get to heaven you must "Matthew 22 vs 37-40" So then 1 John 5 vs 1-5 makes sense.

    When we commit sin

    Then Revelation 1 vs 5

We then see we should keep the commandments including sabbath, but to say we must to get into heaven.. "We must try". Loving God with body mind and soul is the walk we have in Jesus

  • @kentx333 If you're still curious about what SDA's believe about the sabbath, I recommend SabbathTruth(dot)com. There are also other sites I can point you to for information on other subjects. If you want more info just ask. God bless.

  • Ages may past but the word of God never fails as well as the songs which were written for his Glory will never be sub dued.
