Just to be clear... the "city" of Roanoke has a pop. of 95k, but it's separated into city and county in an unnatural way for traditional demographics. The contiguous surrounding county has an additional ~95k, and Salem (contiguous to the west) has an additional ~25k. So it's a bit north of 210k for the immediate Roanoke city area, and over 300k for the MSA. This isn't a 95k-size city by any means.

@BeUnbroken In terms of live music, you'll hear a lot more rock, blues and jazz here than country. The "country" you find around here is mostly good bluegrass and roots music.

I remember visiting that location all the time. *Smile* I used to live at the bottom of the mountain. The trees have certainly grown since then. You used to have a much better view...
