Love the pattern on that oscar. Awesome moray eel, I have one about 18in long but it isn't as voracious as yours, it actually eats a shrimp from my tongs in the morning and won't touch another till the evening, just 2 a day. how big is yours?

They call them snowflake eels i had 2 of them in my 125 gallon tank but 1 died it seemed little messed up when i bought it but the other has been alive for about 3 months so far in my tank, i feed it "feeder goldfish" seems to take about 5-6 out every night on wednesday when i get them but have never seen it actually eat one.

the eel is a gymnothorax tile, and is not a freshwater eel. they are commonly sold as freshwater eels, but its a mistake. they should be kept in brackish water. They can live in freshwater, but they do much much better in brackish water.

i posted this above, but it's a gymnothorax tile. its commonly refered to as a "freshwater snowflake eel". it is not freshwater, nor is it a snowflake moray eel. They cost around 12 dollars if you get them small (around 8-12 inches long). i got mine a few days ago. just make sure you give him a good cave or log to hide under, they get very stressed out in the open and they like dark hiding spots.

There's no such thing as a freshwater eel. They do spawn in freshwater,but they go back to where they came from,which is the sea.This eel won't live as long in freshwater as in saltwater.
