This movie bonded my mother and I when our relationship was strain but at the same time created this lifelong debate on how Sarah is her Christine and mine is Emmy! I owe this movie a lot.
I am in tears right now. I cried so hard at the end of this fim which I just watched. Critics are so harsh against this movie for no reason. Its PERFECT!!
After watching this movie I have a completely different look on beauty. Beauty isn't just on the outside, and the Phantom is the perfect representation of that. He may have a disfigured face but when his sole is bare, it's beautiful.
I absolutely adore this film, Gerard Butler was the right choice, and he did such a brilliant job at it!
I have become infatuated with the Phantom and Christine love story, it's true love and it's truly beautiful.
The only thing I don't enjoy about the trailers for this on YouTube, is that they all have this echo or screech to them. But I still love it enough to listen!
I LOVE THIS MOVIE, but I still crave a book adaption, and I want Tim Burton to direct it, I honestly think he can provide that Gothic romance feel that is The Phantom Of The Opera.
@RavenshadowandCielP no it's not it's a musical based on a book by Gaston Leroux it was never a ture story and what are talking about? there is no disney version of the Phantom??? theres a animated version of the book if thats what you mean
when i was little my dad would put the cd on. i fell in love with it. it came then when it was time for me to see the movie. so i watched it....it was too sad and i didnt like it. i never saw it from then on. i was probably 5 wheni watched it. im 13 now. its been so long....
I like the story but the movie was so boring. No needed to have a musical movie for this story- I prefer Dario Argento,s 1998 version. I should read the book.
There's a young woman, named Christine Daae. After her father's death at seven, she is taken to the Opera house in Paris to learn to be a chorus girl in dance. However, ever since her arrival, she has heard a voice claiming to be the Angel of Music, and he teaches her to sing. When her chance to sing in the Opera comes, the Voice reveals himself as a man who haunts the Opera House, and who has fallen in love with Christine.
His jealously begins to corrupt him and he starts threaten the Opera house, and those within it until he can have Christine for himself. Christine and Raoul, her lover, have to try and create a way of escpaing him, forever.
My school marching band did Phantom of the Opera this year. And won state championship. It was amazing. Should I watch the movie first or read the book first?
read the book then go and get the OLC (Orginal london cast) soundtrack if you can find it somwehre should be online...
and read throught the (complete) script you get with that and listien to it then see this film adaptation and possiblyg the complete motion picture soundtrack CD
and check out the bootleg versions of the stage show on youtube
ive just brought the book half way through it. ive seen the film like 1000 times (i love it) but the book is so different, you get to understand the phantoms feelings in much more depth. its beautiful & gerard butler (the phantom) in this film is abosolutly positively the most gorgeous man ive ever seen.
Right now I just want to give the phantom a big hug. I cried the whole night for him after reading the book. It's not his fault that he's disfigured. He did not deserve all that pain. If he had a normal face, as the book says, he would've become one of the most distinguished of mankind, then his heart wouldn't have hardened and turned bitter from all the resentment people showed him. Why did life have to be so cruel and unfair to him?
I love the guy who wrote this musical... Maybe hes not the best Broadway musical genius, but hes way up there on the Broadway charts for his musicals "CATS", "Jesus Christ Superstar", "Evita" and of course, "Phantom Of The Opera". Andrew Lloyd Webber is AWESOME.
One of my very great regrets: I didn't see this movie in a theatre. I should have! It's awesome as it is, but on the big screen, I would've died of all the awesomeness <3 A very happy death it would've been... Phantom <3

It's about this guy called the Phantom of the Opera, who trains this girl to be a really good singer but he really wants to be with her.
Then she runs into her childhood sweetheart, and the Phantom goes a little crazy.
It's a good movie, if you get a chance, you should watch it.
