@GunznGear I'm honored that you replied. Thank you for this video. I do enjoy my guns. I never owned one before the 08 election cycle. I got in line at the local guy shop back then.
@GunznGear sure no probs.look 4ward to seeing it, maybe a collection of colts ,past n present would b good. ...or any lge cal revs. over ere in blighty, replicas, or decoms is the nearest thing. starting a collection is like a gun with no trig !!!!!
I recently acquired my CCW and also picked up a S&W model 438 (black w/ shrouded hammer). I really enjoy the gun and do agree with your statement on it being tougher gun to shoot, but with that being said I also feel it is an easy gun to improve with at a quick pace. It feels good in the hand and in my opinion with a non +P round the recoil is perfectly manageable. Good Video... keep it up
I'm thinkin of getting a gun. I love the slender looking revolvers not the fat looking ones. Also would it be better to get a pistol or a revolver for my first gun. I Probably will be a one gun guy and I want it to hit all my expectation.
hey man umm what kind of job do u have ? because u seem to have alot of gunns and im wondering what job funds thos guns and ammo ect. u dont have to answer but i was just wondering
@swordfish020 I am a High voltage lineman, and I've been working for the utility co. here, for almost 26yrs. I've been collecting guns since I've been old enough to buy them. Working OT and side jobs has helped greatly w/ my collection, but the real secret is that I didn't get married untill I was 34. I've been broke ever since! LOL
@TheRaulf Those grips are boot grips, and they are supposed to be compact, but I wish they were a little longer. The width and over all feel is excellent, just a little short for my liking.
Great video. I laughed when you said a snub isn't for beginners. Well it was the first one I bought, failed CCW test, re tested and barely passed. Imagine a beginner shooting a snubby at 21 ft for a test.
@passionforguns Because of the small grip and the handling features, you really need to build some skill to operate a snubby well. Thanks for your comment
@bear022013 I don't know about all of that, but I've either done farm work or construction work (high voltage lineman) my whole life, and I do seem to hold on to whatever I grab. Thanks
@GothChristianPatriot Since the 41magnum is around 20yrs older, I rekon you could say that the 10mm is sorta like a rimless, redused powered 41 magnum, designed to be used in semi auto handguns.
@dazco2121 It is a shame that many countries who hold freedom dear, have given up the individual's basic right to protect themselves, which is the cornerstone of liberty. Thank you for your comment.
B een a sub for awhile, always enjoy your vids. Especially like this one. I started with revolvers, moved to semi-autos and love both. Each has its own special features, but my first love is revolvers. Had to sell my Taurus .44 a few years ago and regret it, but now I have the S&W .44 mag Classic DX on layaway, and it'll be one I'll never sell. Love your collection, including the NAA Black Widow..mini master? It's on my list. Really great video, and I learned some things. Thanks.
@oldairforcedude I enjoy both revolvers and semi auto's as well. The S&W 44mag is a nice revolver, I hope you enjoy it as much as I have mine. The NAA is a cool little gun. Thanks for your comment
@Polarisdog123 I have actually used my 41mags more often than my 44mags and 454's for hog hunting. I do suggest using the heavier weight bullets, I use heavy hardcast lead rounds to promote better penetration.
@minigunlover 38 spcl is a good defensive rd. For defense I think it's better than 22lr,22mag,32acp,380. I think it's about the same as 9mm. Idon't think it's as good as 40sw,357mag,357sig, 10mm, 45acp
I just bought my first hand gun. It is a used Dan Wesson Arms 357, 5 1/2 inch barel. it is has wooden grips and is quite used, I payed $260 for it, did I over pay?
@hosea1111 You usally can check gun values at a gun shop. I know several folks who have had Dan Wesson revolvers, and they liked them. I always thought their pistol packs w/ several different barrels was cool. I hope you enjoy your revolver!!
nice collection, i love revolvers especially 357 magnum. 2 thumbs up for you buddy. keep on posting more videos. pls post a quick draw shooting videos using your single action or double action.
@GunznGear. what i like with revolvers compare to semi auto is semi auto might loosen up the spring inside if you let the sit in ready to fire mode. revolver is ready to shoot but the disadvantage is the number of rounds; i'll be waiting for your next vid. =D
To sum up this video: Check out my toys.. now be jealous.... joking aside, great video. I've only owned 2 of the guns you have in the video (GP100 and 627PC).
that 44 special is a neat gun, but for the price and hassle wouldn't it be more practical to just have a 629 and shoot the numerious rounds for the 44 magnum?
@tamapalagi Very good point, but I already have a 629! lol I didn't have a 44special, and this 44spl is made on the L frame, so it is more compact. It is never a hassle to think up a reason to buy another gun!! LOL Thanks
@FireArmsResQ Thanks bro! No, I've never had a Nagant revolver. If I were going to get a foreign designed revolver, it wouls have to be a Webley. The British used them for a long time. It was also used often in Sherlock Holmes ;)
If you don't mind shopping online ammo is readily available online. Good old Commie Brown Bear makes ammo for it like they do with all the Commie Guns. Not as cheap as Makarov and Tokarev rounds though. I beleive Nagant revolver rounds go for like $20 for 50 rounds.
The NAA .22 wouldn't be my first choice by any means, but I suppose it shouldn't be. If I were to have a .22, it'd probably be a Walther P22 or something similar. Out of these, the one I'd like to fire the most is probably the 629. I'd also someday like to fire a .500 S&W though I am aware of the recoil, and the fact that if you hold it wrong, you can blow your fingers off. You think 5 shots of .357 is effective, try 5 .50 caliber, high-velocity bullets! What do you think?
@MrGrakk The S&W 500 magnum was designed to be a big game hunting round, and defense against large critters (brown bears, moose etc.)
The 357 magnum was designed to provide LEO' with a more powerful rd to shoot through cars, and stuff. It's adequate for hunting deer size game. It is a proven man stopper.
I know you can buy lower power 500mag ammo, but with such a giant frame, I don't think it would be handy to carry when you head up to the local 7-11. I would love to shoot one though! Thanks
Revolvers are actually the safest guns you can possibly get especially the Ruger Blackhawk and Vaquero the only way those guns can go off is if the loading gate is closed, the hammer is cocked back, and the trigger is pulled, that is about as safe as it gets unless you want a cap gun covered in bubble wrap.
@GunznGear Well out of any weapon they are the most unsafe types of weapons, the can sometimes fire when you drop them if the hammer hits the ground, they dont have any safety mechanisms if you press the trigger they will fire no matter what.
@millapepe I think you're being unfair. Older designs like the Colt Single Action Army (1873) did have the issue of firing when dropped. Many modern designs have removed the firing pin from the hammer, and added a hammer block eternal safety. As far as pressing the trigger and they fire; so does many modern semi auto designs like Glock, Sig Sauer, Walther, etc. In my opinion revolvers maybe safer than the mentioned semi autos, b/c of the longer stiiffer trigger pull.
really good video, and very nice collection. i am looking to get a .357 mag stainless steel with a 6in barrel and cant decide between the 686 or the GP100 the only real up side to the 686 other than i think it looks just a hair better than the GP100 is the extra bullet camber, but the price diff is more than a little bit between the 2. what would you consider and y, well thanks for ur time and take care.
@Bskidz1983 I think that both the 686 and the GP100 are excellent revolvers. The down side for Smith is their price, but the 686 has been made for a couple of decades, so you might find a good deal on a used one. The GP100 is built like a tank, and it costs less, and I really like mine. I think the trigger mechanism on the Smith is easier to work on if you should ever wish to, but I like the trigger on my Ruger. I think it comes down to your personal preference. Both are solid choices! Thanks
i was wondering do you watch dirty harry with any of your revolvers at ur side and do you recite the catchphrase with ur 44 in hand i just wanna know and im into airsoft and i wanna get a revolver cause of dirty harry so hes awesome ur awesome oh n im 14 but imma film maker.
@TASKFORCESoldier141 LOL well, I can't say I take my guns out when I watch movies, but I've bought guns that I've seen in movies. I do love the Dirty Harry movies!!! Good luck with film making. "Go ahead...make my day!"
I don't own a handgun and I'm not planning on owning one anytime in the future, but I'm glad I came across this video. Entertaining and well-presented, you seem to be very knowledgeable of firearms.
@subtleSteppes Thank you! I've enjoyed shooting handguns since I was a young boy. I've used them for hunting, carried them for defense, but mostly I've just enjoyed shooting them. I appreciate your comment, and if you ever get a chance to shoot some tin cans with a handgun...give it a try!
@GunznGear I shot my Night Guard. Shot handloads with 240gr FMJ, Blazer Hollowpoints and some WInchester cowboy loads. The cowboy loads were very comfortable, as were the handloads (6.0grs of TrailBoss Powder) but the Blazer 200gr hollowpoints were aggressive, but still stayed on target. Great gun, great caliber
Great video!! We in CA are finally getting some decent weather, I'm going to take my mom shooting, she wants to try the 10/22 before we get our friend to take us shooting handguns.
Pretty exciting for me seeing as I've never fired anything bigger.
@GunznGear would you get, if you could only get 1, the 627 or the 625jm? the boss said i could get a new kid i mean gun...but i cant make up my mind i love the .357 i have a model 19 and gp100. looking for a gun i might try to do some competition with for the first time. and i love wheel guns
@fisherdigital I guess in your situation, I would get a 625. 357mag is an awesome round, you have two great guns already. You said you have an interest in competition, so here are some considerations. It is a lot, I mean a lot easier to reload 6 short fat 45's with the moon clip, than 8 long skinny 357's. I have to wiggle and jiggle even the shorter 38's to get them into the cylinder. Those big 45's just seem to fall in. 45's are more expensive to practise w/, but it will save time during comp.
@GunznGear thanks for you input. i think 625 is the way to go after seeing some more people reloading the 357's. i see reloading in my future. i really like your vids a ill be adding 1 more view to them over the next week or so. good job and thanks again
@jmkpns Thanks, You and I are on the same page. I have often wondered if the GP100 could be converted to 41mag. I believe the frame is tough enough, but not sure if they could squezze 6rds into the cylinder.
Good reference on revolvers. Certainly a handsome collection and nice to look at. I'm not going to be buying a new handgun soon. I'm still breaking in my Sig and working on my fundamentals. However I do think the next handgun for my collection will either be a revolver in 357 Smith & Wesson or Taurus perhaps. Or maybe a 1911. Decisions, decisions...
@FireArmsResQ I love the revolvers too! 357mag is a great round, as for the 500 S&W... it's a beast to shoot, I bet you'll love it, and when you're not shooting it, you can hold a day's supply of skittles in the cylinder!!!! LOL
good vid,its seams the 357 is an great all around firearm.I have an Taurus m85 I hit bulls at 10 yards all day.A super shooter,Im thinkin. a 5 or 6 shot 357.the thing is I have small hands.something not so chunky any ideas? thxs again for cool vid
@bennra26008 Any of the 357 mag revolvers from Ruger, Smith & Wesson or Taurus would be excellent choices. If you look on their websites, there is a vast selection of models. I would suggest full size models though, like the L frame Smiths, or the Ruger GP100, with either 3" or 4" barrels. They have enough heft to help tame the powerful 357 mag cartridge, and there are a multitude of different grips to fit any size hand and mode of use. Hope that helps.
@LiftedShooter I'm anything but rich. Just a blue collar worker who has been buying guns with ot money for over 25 yrs. PS I didn't get married untill I was 34.... now it seems like I'm always broke!! lol
Man I wish you lived close by, I could learn a lot. Appreciate you sharing, great revolvers. 44 mag is next on my list, don't have one at this time. Have narrowed it down to two and hopeful will be able to swing it before Christmas.
WOW!!! What a beautiful collection! I always wondered why the .41 magnum didn't take off. Actually I never had one but always wanted one. That 57 is SWEET!. A Jerry Miculek you are the man. By the way none of us making these videos can count!LOL! 5*s Thanks!

Thanks

Revolvers are actually the safest guns you can possibly get especially the Ruger Blackhawk and Vaquero the only way those guns can go off is if the loading gate is closed, the hammer is cocked back, and the trigger is pulled, that is about as safe as it gets unless you want a cap gun covered in bubble wrap.
jledford72 8 months ago
@jledford72 I agree, revolvers are very safe and reliable.
GunznGear 8 months ago
Revolvers are way too unsafe, thats why I dont like them that much
millapepe 8 months ago
@millapepe I have never heard someone say that before. I disagree.
GunznGear 8 months ago
@GunznGear Well out of any weapon they are the most unsafe types of weapons, the can sometimes fire when you drop them if the hammer hits the ground, they dont have any safety mechanisms if you press the trigger they will fire no matter what.
millapepe 8 months ago

Bskidz1983 9 months ago
@Bskidz1983 I think that both the 686 and the GP100 are excellent revolvers. The down side for Smith is their price, but the 686 has been made for a couple of decades, so you might find a good deal on a used one. The GP100 is built like a tank, and it costs less, and I really like mine. I think the trigger mechanism on the Smith is easier to work on if you should ever wish to, but I like the trigger on my Ruger. I think it comes down to your personal preference. Both are solid choices! Thanks

Entertaining and well-presented, you seem to be very knowledgeable of firearms.
subtleSteppes 9 months ago
@subtleSteppes Thank you! I've enjoyed shooting handguns since I was a young boy. I've used them for hunting, carried them for defense, but mostly I've just enjoyed shooting them. I appreciate your comment, and if you ever get a chance to shoot some tin cans with a handgun...give it a try!

spanky44mag 9 months ago
@spanky44mag I really like mine, I hope you enjoy yours!
GunznGear 9 months ago
@GunznGear I shot my Night Guard. Shot handloads with 240gr FMJ, Blazer Hollowpoints and some WInchester cowboy loads. The cowboy loads were very comfortable, as were the handloads (6.0grs of TrailBoss Powder) but the Blazer 200gr hollowpoints were aggressive, but still stayed on target. Great gun, great caliber

@spanky44mag Sounds great! I think the Night Guard series from Smith is awesome. thanks for sharing

Great video!! We in CA are finally getting some decent weather, I'm going to take my mom shooting, she wants to try the 10/22 before we get our friend to take us shooting handguns.
Pretty exciting for me seeing as I've never fired anything bigger.

@GunznGear would you get, if you could only get 1, the 627 or the 625jm? the boss said i could get a new kid i mean gun...but i cant make up my mind i love the .357 i have a model 19 and gp100. looking for a gun i might try to do some competition with for the first time. and i love wheel guns
fisherdigital 1 year ago
@fisherdigital I guess in your situation, I would get a 625. 357mag is an awesome round, you have two great guns already. You said you have an interest in competition, so here are some considerations. It is a lot, I mean a lot easier to reload 6 short fat 45's with the moon clip, than 8 long skinny 357's. I have to wiggle and jiggle even the shorter 38's to get them into the cylinder. Those big 45's just seem to fall in. 45's are more expensive to practise w/, but it will save time during comp.
GunznGear 1 year ago
@GunznGear thanks for you input. i think 625 is the way to go after seeing some more people reloading the 357's. i see reloading in my future. i really like your vids a ill be adding 1 more view to them over the next week or so. good job and thanks again

Nice collection. I would like to see Ruger make a GP100 chambered for 41 magnum.
jmkpns 1 year ago
@jmkpns Thanks, You and I are on the same page. I have often wondered if the GP100 could be converted to 41mag. I believe the frame is tough enough, but not sure if they could squezze 6rds into the cylinder.

Best revolver collection ever ! thank you for posting !!!
jsdubon82 1 year ago
Good reference on revolvers. Certainly a handsome collection and nice to look at. I'm not going to be buying a new handgun soon. I'm still breaking in my Sig and working on my fundamentals. However I do think the next handgun for my collection will either be a revolver in 357 Smith & Wesson or Taurus perhaps. Or maybe a 1911. Decisions, decisions...
xxFRANKENZTEINxx 1 year ago
If I was told i could only keep one gun I would probably pick my 357.
My favorite gun to shoot is the AK but the overall points go to the 357!
I love revolvers. I'll probably pick up 2 more. Snub nose 38 special and a S&W 500. At $1500 thats a bargain to have the "most powerful" of anything.
FireArmsResQ 1 year ago
@FireArmsResQ I love the revolvers too! 357mag is a great round, as for the 500 S&W... it's a beast to shoot, I bet you'll love it, and when you're not shooting it, you can hold a day's supply of skittles in the cylinder!!!! LOL

@GunznGear
You can fit a different food group in each chamber and a whole pizza in the barrel =P

good vid,its seams the 357 is an great all around firearm.I have an Taurus m85 I hit bulls at 10 yards all day.A super shooter,Im thinkin. a 5 or 6 shot 357.the thing is I have small hands.something not so chunky any ideas? thxs again for cool vid
bennra26008 1 year ago
@bennra26008 Any of the 357 mag revolvers from Ruger, Smith & Wesson or Taurus would be excellent choices. If you look on their websites, there is a vast selection of models. I would suggest full size models though, like the L frame Smiths, or the Ruger GP100, with either 3" or 4" barrels. They have enough heft to help tame the powerful 357 mag cartridge, and there are a multitude of different grips to fit any size hand and mode of use. Hope that helps.
