  • Just something to mull over. A lot of us commenting are Americans, right. More than likely at some point, up all those branches in the family tree that converge on you here in the present, are a load of immigrants that came here from somewhere else.

  • @TwwigLyniard except for the native americans :)

  • @captainzaptain Hahah, I checked back just to see if anyone was going to say that very line. = )

  • There is one man in this country preaching the message the rest of the world wishes we americans would understand. He even happens to be a man of fitness, not obesity. That is Ron Paul. He gets that we should fix our own problems and mind our own business, and maybe others wouldn't want to harm us as much. Unfortunately, there aren't enough folks comprehending what he is preaching.

  • they saying all this and they play it poor but vevo is under theyr video...pfff gj playing it underdogs and making tons of money

  • @Karfitsas they don't play it poor. they are singing for the strength of immigrants. how they started and still fighting.

  • @endamgrd895 thank for the answer if not maye i wouldnt realize my mistake to refere america just as a geographic area

  • He looks a lot like Frank Zappa.

  • @TheLeoOfCostaRica Thank you! I've been waiting for someone else to agree on that for years!

  • @IndustrialPet I agree also!!!

  • VAAAI BRASIIILLL

  • @necroshadowknight I think of the United States as only part of "America." So I used the U.S. to open because I am talking about the U.S. in that sentence. After that I was referring to what "America" symbolizes not necessarily a geographic area. Thanks for asking.

  • Bottom line, if you can't see the video for the message it has, you should just stop right there and not bothering listening to Gogol AT ALL. I was born in America but still have a rich heritage that I am proud of, why should anyone be ashamed of that and denied a chance at a good life?

  • @endangrd895 i agree with you but i just have a question: when you say American, you mean america as the continent that it is all the way from alaska and canada to chile and argentina? or you had the common mistake that only the united states is america?

  • Name your country and I'll name your shame. European colonialism anyone? When the United States was formed every other country in the world was was under a crown or a dictator. America symbolizes the dream of equality, justice, and freedom. If you are an American and you want to be proud then get involved regaining the freedom of the press, the right to assembly, government for and by the people, etc. This isn't football.

  • спасибо!

  • Yes you are. Thats why we have to close the borders :D

  • @everyone

shut the fuck up and enjoy the music

  • Urm Britain

  • now lets stfu, stop the useless bickering and enjoy this badass song please!!!

  • American citizens can't do anything about the corruption so to argue about it with us is pointless. But every country has certain level of corruption. Every big country has killed innocents before. What our government decides to do does not directly reflect what the citizens truly want.

We were a nation built on immigrants and thats partly what this song is about. We are proud Americans because our ancestors (immigrants) had an opportunity to come here and live a better life than before.

  • Bordello, you rule ¡¡¡

  • Очень люблю этот клип.

  • Eugene's eyes. <3

  • Since when did being proud of your country and enforcing the law become a bad thing? only liberal dumbbells want people to think this way. Mexico enforces its immigration laws with military force. so, please, don't even try it.

  • @nikto45 Why are you proud to be American? Seriously, for what reason? The rest of the world hates your country. What do you have to be proud of, and why would chose to align yourself with the most denegrated national identity in the world. Enforcing what is right is one thing, but the law? What gives you the right to stop anyone entering the North American land mass, oh yeah, you murdered thousands upon thousands of innocent people so now you can say you 'own' it.

  • @jame55millie Murdering thousands of people has happened in pretty much every country at some point in history in order to secure sovereignty and outline borders. You are right in that is what happened in America, but it has also happened pretty much everywhere else.

  • @jame55millie Fuck you and fuck the rest of the envious American-hating world, if everyone hates America why do thousands try to come here decade after decade, some risking their lives? People like you who talk shit about America are just small minded simpletons, whose anti-American sentiments cloud the tiny amount of reason they have. America is a young nation we have made many mistakes and will continue to make them, but humans in any nation or race are all guilty of inhumanity.

  • @greentexian "We're inhumane, will continue to be so, and are fucking proud of it" American sentiments make me smile. You really don't realise how stupid you all are do you. "Come on lads, lets go protect our freedoms THOUSANDS OF MILES AWAY, by killing a load of innocent people." Hahahahahahahaha

  • @jame55millie Jesus H tit-fucking christ you are dense, every country in the history of the world has done similar actions your anti-american zealotry justr won't allow you to have a real worldview because you are too caught up in hating a place you know jack-shit about.Fuck go back and read your weird ass comment you need to seek help soon!

  • @jame55millie Why does the rest of the world hate My country? Because you, personally, have witnessed the horrors that is America? Or is your hatred for my country based on your chosen social group, therefore you brainlessly share your bias views, on youtube?

We have the right to stop people from invading our Country. In 1845 we successfully accepted texas as part of America, thus shortly after (1846) we also got immigration problems (same ones that Texas had from Mexico)..

  • @jame55millie Its not our problem that Mexicans don't wanna be part of Mexico, think about what letting all of the mexicans into America would be like.. more poor people, which costs the government more money, non-American-Mexicans are criminal in nature (hey, its a bad country, they need to be criminal - think Mexican drug cartels), that would also, give all of these criminals free range, which would also encourage more drug trafficking..

it seems like a great idea to let them in, but its not

  • @jame55millie "You murdered thousands upon thousands of innocent people", Actually, you're right about the murdering bit, but who you're directing it at, is completely incorrect, me personally, I don't know 1 single American who has ever killed a Native American..

What country HASN'T attempted to eliminate people, or murder people for some form of gain or another? Oh you can say England (I'm assuming thats where you're from), but Australia sure says otherwise..

  • @russellreal Actually, England and the British Isles have been responsible for some of the worst institutionalised genocide in modern history ( look up 'salt tax'). My problem with MOST americans (all of the ones so far responding to me) is your blind nationalism. Basing your identity on the land mass you were born in is fucking stupid. You have it trained into you from day one at school that you should be proud to be an american, and it would seem most of you never question this brainwashing.

  • @jame55millie read my post again, there's no doubt in my mind that our government is very corrupt but you don't mention some of the good things that we like about our country well because you've never lived here....

I don't condone a lot of certain actions that took place but tbh i can't help where i was born and locally im living a good life. The fact that im able to live such a good life here compared to other countries is easily a good enough reason to be patriotic.

  • @jame55millie People are proud to be American, because American gives us more freedoms than 100% of the other countries, find another country that gives you freedom of expression (part of freedom of speech), freedom to protest your government, freedom of the press, freedom to keep and bear arms..

Its about how great the country is, not about where we're from, if I was born in Iran, I'd prolly dislike it (I know many Persian people)..

I love this country, for it is my home..

  • @russellreal ...not sure if sarcastic or highly stupid...

  • @russellreal

my country is just fine. your america is overrated

  • @russellreal Buddy, you better take a better look at whats happening here in America. During Hurricane Katrina the Feds took peoples guns away because they would be "safer" without them, they said. Have you seen the NDAA bill ? The Patriot Act ? The SOPA and PIPA bills? We have the most people in prison than at any time in history for any country ever! America is slipping away slowly. Do something about it and VOTE RON PAUL 2012!

  • @jame55millie America* sorry, rushed typing lol

  • @jame55millie You're absolutely right in that this nationalist bullshit is pushed on us from day one and, most buy into it because it's easier to believe it than to open your goddamned eyes and see what's really happening and where we've gone wrong. Being an american doesn't mean anything anymore anyway. Other than having an undeserved ego and a weight problem.

  • @wolfbane343 I understand your point, but may I ask you why being an american should mean something? I mean, where you were born is just a random fact, nothing more. Why one should be proud of being born american? We should be proud of our actions, those mean something, where you were born will not ever define you, unless you let they shape you the way they want to. WIth an undeserved ego and weight problem. We should choose to be human, not american, german, chinese, chilean.

  • @wolfbane343 What matters is that we are all equal, humans. This is the kind o "nationalism" we should all praise.

  • @wolfbane343 there is such a thing of being an American, ask Louie Ramirez, he is a soldier in the US Army and he is stationed away from his family and friends doing what most Americans will not do. He is one of my friends and I want him home safe. He is an American and he will fight anyone to keep it that way.

  • @DiRTWaL92 all I was saying is being american doesn't make you any different AT ALL than anyone else living anywhere else. The only people who buy into that are the same ones who buy into all the lies about being free. We're not free unless you look at it comparatively speaking. Do we have more freedoms than some? Maybe, but it won't last for long. In all of human civilization, since the beginning, peace and freedom from tyranny never last for too long.

  • @wolfbane343 There is a difference, I can choose to get fat, I can choose to work for something, I can choose to get a better education, I can choose to run this government. My friend is in Korea right now because he wants to keep it that way.

  • @jame55millie While I agree that my country has done some fucked up shit, and will continue to do fucked up shit, I think it's wrong on your end to generalize all Americans in the way you're doing so. The american government and american citizens are 2 different things, and I agree with many of your points. But saying we're all the same is just flat-out ignorance, like based on what you have displayed here I can say "All people from 'insert country here' are ignorant assholes"

  • Homegirl from Spain....WOW ;D We are immigrants and proud!

  • Love this video. Excellently put together

  • this is dexters laboratory

  • THIS IS MURKA, AND IF YOU DONT LIKE IT, YOU CAN GEEEET AWTTTT

  • In which record does this song come?

  • @xordda It's on their album Trans-Continental Hustle.

  • Bassnectar!!!

  • я не уловил смысла

  • i saw them last night and just fell in love! greatest band ever!!!

  • @njsurfer100 TERMINAL 5!!!!

  • @YungB0211 ya it was awesome where u there the 30??

  • @njsurfer100 yeah I wanted to come again today but i couldnt make it. Every gogol show is amazing.

  • @YungB0211 i enjoyed the mosh pit

  • @njsurfer100 i was going to go in2 the mosh pit but it took me a while to get to the front of the crowd. and if i wasnt going to be able to come back to the front if i went in. The crowd was great,

  • @YungB0211 it was crazy i dropped like 5 ppl though cuz ppl wanted to crowd surf but ppl just didnt want to carry them... but then i just went into mosh n the one song when kids had littler up i was one of them it was great time

  • @njsurfer100 I can't wait for the next concert. I know there gonna be a lollapalooza, but the size of terminal 5 was real close and thats really cool.

  • @YungB0211 it was amazing though it was a great place

  • Apparently, 47 people are against immigration.

  • and no one from Serbia... sad mate sad...

  • But still some of the Americans were born there, so they can call themselves "native". The fact that they descendants were immigrants doesnt make those ppl immigrants too... Of course still only real Americans are the Indians :D

  • Приятная такая композиция.

  • I would cut my left nut off for a guitar tutorial

  • I hope you guys know, that if you live in america, you're an immigrant. No such thing as "true american" We all came from somewhere.

  • @bugzNstuff yes but to a point, my parents on both sides came here legally and went through a process, the condoning of no borders is absurd, you can kiss goodbye any aspect of language, culture and ethnicity if you want to just allow no citizens.. without a set line in the woods of who belongs to what tax roll you have nothing... and that makes all the same..no identity of anything, just all the same language, the same food and the same same same same same, borders are what make us all healthy

  • @roastbeefdinner I don't care what you said, a comment that long deserves a like!

  • @ODSTsnipaman1 But what he said is also pretty important. He did make a point, and that deserves a like even more than a long comment does.

  • @purplewhitetiger I know I read it too

  • @roastbeefdinner The point is that claiming superiority because you happened to be born on one chunk of land rather than another is absurd.

  • @bugzNstuff Native Americans, brah. But srsly, in all srsness, this is an amazing song. Saw them play it live, was awesome.

  • 2.58 NICE BIG BOOBS

  • Pessoas que vem até um vídeo do GOGOL BORDELLO e que ainda mantém suas mentes cheias de preconceito perante os imigrantes. Como vocês ainda tem coragem de escutar uma banda tão maravilhosa como essa?

  • GOGOLBORDELLOVEVO WHAT THE

    FUCK

  • There's no "pure american" in the world, people from US, just as people from other countries, as Brazil, Argentina and Canada, which recieve massive immigration from several parts of the world, are the "hybryds" of the world... And, sincerely, I don't know why people still thinking it's bad...

I'm a brazilian with galician, icelandic, italian, austrian, rom, catalan, egyptian and jewish ancestries... And i feel very proud of my multiethnicity...

  • what about irish, japanese and italians?

  • WE (the human species) ARE ALL UNWANTED EMIGRANTS ON THIS PLANET ! ! !

  • It's obvious that the song is about immigrating specifically to america. But at the same time who says the song can't apply to other situations like timoc90 mentioned. That's the beauty of music. Although the artist may have a specific message the audience can adapt it however they may like and still enjoy the song to it's fullest value. The message is obvious but that doesn't mean music can't be open to personal interpretation.

  • As Earthlings, we have the right to travel the Earth however the hell we damn well please!!

  • дядя с моего города Боярка.

  • being allowed to immigrate to America is a privilege, not a right.

  • @nikto45 Hahahahaha wait that is a joke right?

  • @nikto45 I was an american emigrant (in another country) and I relate to this song. he's not talking about any specific country. so, you dickhead, can go fuck yourself , you dog and your pickup all with the american flag if that's what gets you off.

  • @timoc90 The song is about immigrating to America. read the lyrics. He talks about double standards, etc.,etc. Hey, and what's wrong with dogs? dogs are cool. Trucks are cool too, but gas is so damn expensive. Your mom loves being in back, especially when she is laying on top of Old Glory. being allowed into America is a privilege. Anyone who says its a right is a typical liberal goofball.

  • @ Nikto45 America is a continent! United States is a country (that's why they say OF AMERICA) learn that! you're right, there is no right to be allowed to live in the U.S., but it's the immigrants who have built this country, and there are more immigrants VS. whatever you call yourself! this video and this song it sure is talking about the U.S. because they are a band that live there!

  • @natatch11 You understand very well the song is referring to the US (America being the vernacular). nice try.
