  • Thank you for making this! I spent 3 hours trying to thread and watched your video and had it threaded in about 10 min.

  • Thank you so much for making this video. I had a problem threading the lower looper like many others and now I finally got it right. My stitch is perfect!

  • Thank you that was super helpful!

  • YOU ARE SO AWSOME!!!

THANK YOU, THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO!!

    (((HUGS))) :)

  • You literally saved my life and kept my girlfriend from burning the house down (and the serger with it).

  • Thanks! My wife and I had trouble exactly where you said most people did. She was wondering why she asked for a server after all - but has now finished a couple nice seams.

  • Woot! My tension is working now!! Threading that lower looper correctly really helps...duh. THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!

  • OMG Genious. I have the 1134DW and the video mine came with was not only old, but also didn't even show how to thread the serger! And the manual doesn't have very clear pictures either. I can't even thank you enough for helping me figure this out in like 15 min! (had to pause the video a few times to double check my work haha)

  • I finally got this serger and thanks to your video, it works like a dream. I'm so happy. Also I have found out that not hand turning the wheel AFTER threading the lower looper works better. In the manual video, they say turning the wheel helps align the looper thread but what it really does is loops the lower loop thread over the upper loop thread causing the lower loop thread to break when you start to serge.

  • I can't tell you how relieved and grateful I was to find your video! I finally got a chance to play with my new toy tonight - my first serger - and I very quickly found myself with a broken bottom looper thread. You did a great job demonstrating how to thread this machine and save me lots of frustration. Now I can just sew! Thanks a million!

  • Thank you so much! I had broken threads out of the box so I didn't even get a visual of correct threading to begin with. The video was too dark and neither the video nor the manual sufficiently addressed two issues for me:

1-The third thread needing to lay over the fourth thread

2-Drawing all threads under the foot as a last step

I greatly appreciate your time and talents!

    Party!

  • Thank you soo much for this video : ) Could you please do a video on maintaining this serger (IE: detailed video on how to clean, oil or whatever needs to be done to keep this serger going)

Would greatly appreciate it so would BROTHER I am sure :)

    Take care

  • @perm1212perm You're welcome! That is a great idea. First I need to learn how to do it, LOL. When life slows down and I get a moment, I will try to do that... it would be excellent; most people don't clean their machines as often as they should... makes a world of difference.

  • Perfect!

  • THANK YOU SOOO much for posting this ! i was WAY confused from their video and yours was sooo simple and easy! Great work!

  • Holy crap! I sat in front of that stupid Brother dvd for 2 HOURS and I could not figure out what I was doing wrong. I watched your video and had it threaded in 2 additional minutes (plus the time of the video). THANK YOU SO MUCH! You should totally be making new videos for them! Thank you so much, you saved me from some tears! <3

  • WOOOHOOO! you rule. thank you so much for this tut. I am on my way :)

  • а на русском языке нет?

  • Thank you, thank you, thank you! I could not understand what was going wrong until I watched this video. The Brother video did not make it clear how the lower looper thread was supposed to go under the upperlooper at the end. I would have been frustrated for days without this. Brother should pay you!

  • Bless You! I spent HOURS trying to thread my new serger before I found your video. The Brother people should be embarrassed about their poor video instructions and hire you - really. Thanks for taking time to share, I appreciate it! Would love to see more serger tips video from you.

  • You are amazing!!! I was getting ready to throw my serger out the window after trying to thread it for at least an hour and a half before I found your video

  • Thank you for this video! I have had a serger for some time but I was overwhelmed by the lack of info. This is great. Please do more videos.

  • Thank Goodness I found this video. I was struggling with the 1980's video and could not see anything on the threading. You were so clear and precise and loved the different angles of view you created and seriously helped the whole community of people who have this machine. Please make some more videos.

  • thank you! I appreciate you and others who share what they know! Whenever I begin to learn something new, I head here first :)

  • OMG.....a thousand thank-you's I will be saving this video as you were awesome in your demo.

  • Yet another resounding THANK YOU! Seriously, the instructional video completely fails to be such. Your clear, patient, 'real person' guide to threading got me serging with my new (first) machine in minutes after a long, frustrating time trying to re-thread it. Yay!

  • Way better then the dvds that come w/ the serger!!! Thank you

  • Better than Brothers video. I am loving this....This was the first time I was able to thread my serger that fast and have it work. I am thinking you should forward this to brother and tell them to see how much better your instructions are....my thread hasn't broken in over 200 organic wipes. Thanks so much I am putting this in my favorites....Please keep making video's that we can learn from... :)

  • EXCELLENT Video...My wife is making a couple robes for our mom's and the other night she mentioned "Serger", I was like ????? So, I ordered the brother model for a early Christmas present & found your video. I totally understand why she was talking about it. She has been sewing for years, but does not have one of these. So, Just in case I'm linking you video to her for part of her Christmas present.

Thank You so much! You did a Great Job on this video :)

  • Thank you so much for this video.. I have been trying to thread that lower lever for like 3 hrs using the enclosed video. It kept breaking. Thanks to your detailed video. I can now move forward..

  • this was a great demo....could see for once what to do...at the rectangular clasp as said in the brother video....your really a wonderful help ...... thank you so much from an old lady 70 yrs old....dolores ps..I may need somemore help so i'll keep you email address

  • Thank you for posting this video!!!!

    It works!!!

  • So nicely done. You are such a natural speaker and demonstrator, and I appreciate it very much. This is my second serger, though I've not used one in quite some time. I know your video will make getting used to this one much easier. Thanks for your patience and generosity with your time and talents.

  • Thank God I found your video!!! My machine became unthreaded because it was packaged upside down in the box! All the treads were a mess. I watched the video (I agree with the other person, too small) and thought it wasn't very clear explaining what goes where, especially the looper threads when you are told to "pull to the back"!!!! I love how you emphasized to put one of the threads UNDER the other one. You saved me hours of frustration, not to mention tears. lol

  • Thank you so much! I failed repeatedly to thread my serger, because you are absolutely correct that Brother's video sucks! The part you focused the most on was the part I was messing up. Thank you for relieving my headache!

  • I just received my Brother 1034D. I followed your video, and it sewed perfectly the first time. Thanks so much for your help. You're amazing. Thanks again.

  • Thank youuu i just got my sege and that video helped me a lott!!!! thaaankssss!!!!!

  • Thank you. I purchased a 1034D a short time ago. I removed the threads that came witht the machines and just used your threading video to successfully thread the machine. This was my first time threading a serger. I will look out for more of your serger videos.

  • I really appreciate that you took the time to make this video! This is not my first serger, so I never thought when I bought it that I would have any problem threading it, but of course, I did. The cd was horrible. I am contacting the dealer I bought this from and telling him he should make future buyers aware of this link!

  • oh sweet jesus, thank you for this video. I have been staring at my serger (still in the box) for the past 2 months terrified to take it out. Maybe I wont break the machine now :)

  • @thatgirlhaswoe

I laughed at your comment, I felt the same way after numerous attempts to thread the ever popular (or not so popular) LOOPERS! Her video and explanations are a God send.

  • WAY more clear than the old, fuzzy videos! I was a little panicked when I saw the older ones. So glad I found your video!! Thanks so much!!

  • Thanks so much as you made my life so much happier...

    you rock,

    Debbie

  • thank you!!! Your guide was so helpful, the cd tutorial was entirely too small for me [to see clearly], so thankfully I came across your help on youtube. You should contact Brother & see if they'll pay you for all of us that you have helped!!! If not, they should at least send you a few free perks (maybe some free accessories) since it looks like you have not only helped some of their newbies, but also saved the 2 people ahead of me from RETURNING theirs! ;o) many thanks!!

  • Thank you so much! I was about to return my serger because I couldn't figure out how to thread it! :)

  • Thank you so much for taking the time to make and post this! The lowerlooper thread kept breaking on my overlocker, and the rubbish DVD made it impossible to see how to thread it properly. I was going wrong in exactly the bit you highlighted. You're a jem!!!! :)

  • Thank you. Once again I pulled your video up to thread my serger, it is so much easier for me to follow. I havent used my serger in 3 weeks and forgot how to thread it..... You are a blessing!

  • Thanks so much for this. I just got this machine and so far this is the best threading video I have seen!!!!

  • OMG, am I glad I did this search.

    THis CD is horrible!

    You-da-gal!

  • You comepletly saved my as* today. I have had this machine for a long time and never can get it threaded right and always have to have it threaded at the shop, hence never using it, but today I had to and the threads of course broke, but your video made it easy to thread..

  • thank you excellent instructions simple to follow

  • Thank you, thank you, thank you! Yes, I strongly agree Brother should hire you and show "this" video not theirs. I have wasted 4 hours trying to get my serger to work before I thought of You Tube.

  • Awesome guide, Thanks for posting.

  • GREAT JOB! THANKS A BUNCH!!! GOD BLESS!!!

  • well done video, thanks

  • This helped so much. The dvds that came with it were terrible. You showed everything and clearly. Thanks so much for the great video. I agree with the other comments.

  • I cannot put into words how thankful I am that you put this video up for the last 6 months I have not been able to use my serger because I did not know how to thread it. after a bunch of tutorials and failed attempts I had just about given up. Thank you thank you thank you. This video is the best and it has helped me greatly and will help many more people in the future!!!

  • Thank you thank you. I used this video to thread my Brother Lock 925D which is a little different but the upper lower looper parts are exactly the same and I got stumped trying to figure out the instructions. There was no dvd when I received my serger. Thank you again. Saved me a lot of frustration.

  • Thank you so much! The instructions DVDs also confused me and I spent an hour trying to figure out why the lower looper thread kept breaking. Thanks to your instructions, I'm now serging! :)

  • you saved my nerves!!! this is my first serger and that video was like.. OMG I will never get this. thanks sooo or as the other posted so nicely put..SEW much!

  • This was extremely helpful. Up and running 5 minutes flat. :)

Thank you SEW much! Can't wait to get going.....

  • Thank you! I was having the lower looper thread break over and over. Thought it was me.

  • Thanks so much!!

  • Thanks a a lot for your video.

It was very helpful to me.

  • Very big help. Thank you so much! Brother should hire you. :D

  • Thank you so much!! This has collected dust on my sewing table for months because I was so intimidated. The instructional videos won't even play on my Mac anyway... thanks so much!!

  • Huge thanks! The video, photos and your clear instructions saved me hours of headache. The thing is I've recently moved to Japan and can't read Japanese very much. The overlock that I bought here contains only Japanese instructions and pictures are not super comprehensive. Last weekend I wasted hours trying myself and watching various videos :( And you know what was wrong? The 2d thread which you have to pass UNDER the metal thingy... Thanks again!

  • I ordered this machine today, so it hasn't even arrived yet, but I am confident I can thread it using this video, first class. Thanks for taking the time! we all really appreciate it.

  • I Got the Same ONe I LOOVVVE MY Serger

  • Thank you so much! You saved my friend and I hours of headaches trying to watch that video that came with the machine and such!! Brother needs to hire you! ;) We were able to thread my serger in MINUTES!! You're awesome!

  • @Ellebeelb You are welcome!

  • Thank You!!!! Thank You!!!! I was giving up on my serger not having a chance to use it when all the threads broke and the DVD was not clear on how to thread the machine. I watched your video and YEP - YOU AND I GOT IT THREADED ON THE FIRST TRY!!! Thank you for sharing the knowledge. Keep up the good work. I say go for the videos for the special features of the serger - you got a student here :)

  • @pepielapew You are welcome!

  • @amylynnjohn29 You are welcome! That's a good idea, LOL! All these comments are inspiring me to make more videos about the special features of the serger.

  • I just got a 1034D serger and your video is a great detailed version of how to thread this serger. Thanks so much

  • @MsGordot Thank you for your comments! I appreciate it!

  • Thanks for posting this. I've had this serger for almost a year and have been too scared to take it out of the box. I bought this after seeing a great t-shirt dress for almost $200 and thought what-the-hell? After watching this I'll definitely will go for it.

  • @winebox You're welcome!

  • THANK YOU! I should have watched your video first LOL! Now I get it :)

  • THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!! You GET it. I was messing up exactly where you focused - lower looper thread should be NEXT TO that channel, not snapped back behind it. And the 15 seconds you spent describing where each thread should go AFTER it's threaded made the entire difference. After watching your video, I threaded in 60 seconds flat. BLESS YOU!!!

  • @AQWPhoto You're welcome!! I'm so glad it helped!!

  • Awesome video thanks for posting. I am a visual leaner and this video helped a lot. My Serger has been sitting on my sewing table because i was too scared to attempt to re-thread it.

  • Thanks So Much for posting this.. it was a big help :)

  • Thank you!!! I'm getting this serger in a couple of days, and have been looking at the original dvd here, on youtube... Let's just put it this way, thankfully, you shared the video with the rest of us.

    Much thanks once more! ;)

  • Thanks so much, it worked like a champ!

Where I kept messing up before was how the threads should lay over the upper looper and under the presser foot before you chain off the first time.

I am making some costumes right now, too, so I am interested to check out your blog.

    Thanks again!

  • Some more ... threading is more easy.

  • I discovered the 3034D is more convenience , especially on the part of turn down the cutting knife.

  • Thank you so much, Artistkae! I was so frustrated with the video tutorial that came with the machine - like you said, it was confusing, and they always panned away at a crucial moment! I used your tutorial, and I'm up and running; no problem - yay!

Also, your voice is husky and sexy, unlike the awful voice on the manufacturer's video ;-).

  • @AllysonPDX I don't think I've ever heard that one before, LOL!

  • THANKS! Question, when threading the right needle thread, do you run it under the metal plate? Thanks!

  • THANKS! Question, when threading the right needle thread, do you run it under the metal plate? Thanks!

  • @dewdrop222 Hi there, sent you a message on Vimeo,

    (for others reading this)

Yes, it goes under the presser foot, just like the left needle thread. When everything's threaded all should be under the presser foot and pulled to the left.

  • Thank you! this is a great vid and cheery!

  • @beesparkle No problem! I was so pissed I wasted 3 hours trying to thread this thing with "correct" instructions that I vowed to make my own video...
