Fallout 3 and New Vegas are too different to compare. Fallout 3 does give a very post apocalyptic world feel. I mean. When wandering the D.C ruins you feel like an ant in a broken world. Fallout New Vegas didn't satisfy my post apocalyptic hunger but still was a great game. Much better main story board than FO3 but side quest on both games were great.

@OniLink96 I felt that fallout 3 had a slight better story than New Vegas. fallout 3 really brought the wasteland feel into the gameplay. New Vegas did the same, but because of the environment and the story, i didn't really bring in the feeling. But New Vegas does deserve a lot of credit because of its Vegas like feel.

@JordanLeePreston I don't really share his opinion about FO3, I enjoyed it quite a bit, but NV is much more faithful to overall mood and atmosphere of the first two games, imo, which puts it above FO3 for me. I also felt the writing was a lot stronger.

I LOVE New Vegas, so much more than fallout 3. I dont care how bugged you may think it is, the patches fixed most eveything anyways.

New Vegas feels like it actually belongs in the series. FO3 shit all over the story. Im glad obsidian and ex black isle employees made it.

How so? Fallout 3 introduced me to the series, so I may have some bias here, but it seemed like FO3 did a good job of covering its tracks. Everything made sense if you read into it.

the difference between Fallout3 and Fallout NewVegas i that in fallout 3 i played for about 400 houres and i still play , and on Fallout NewVegas i played like 10 houres and i wish i didnt played it...the newmonsters are gay , the collor correction looks bad and makes u feel sooo bored , and the game jut gets booring after a few houres .. but fallout 3 ? adicting as hell , can't stop playing it , great mod cumunity and soo on

Well there is a massive open world. So the the engine has to compute a shitload of matrhs. Much more than anyother game. So it is bound to come across errors. To be honest I would be happy to keep the bugs if it kept the big open world.

deathclaws are a bitch to kill. the AntiMaterial rifle with AP bullets helps alot, but you better make your shots count, once they get in close, ur pretty much done for, especially on hardcore mode with stimpaks not healing instantly

Now all I have to do is wait until midnight for the game to unlock on my PC. Only about 9 hours to go, now after that all I have to do is swap the HDD in this kraken laptop with the Seagate Momentus XT Hyrbrid drive that I bought, install windows 7 and add another 4GBs of RAM. But, that would be overkill might as well save that drive for the boot disk for my first system bulid.

@RUbixCUb3ed you don't get my point yet you do at the same time. I compared it to a toy to emphasize that different energy weapons do different levels of damage no matter what your skill is in them. Also, different weapon type's damage aren't based so much on the damage they would realistically give because they've been balanced. A 9mm pistol for example has to reload a lot more so it was given better damage.

@oblivionfan345Tony The noise of the gun wouldn't be distinct from another one, plus they're trying not to 'copy' the same weapons from the real-time weapons. The world changed in 1950 in the Fallout universe so anything after that probably won't be their. The assault rifle in Fallout 3 does look a hell of a lot like an AK though.

@MrVid1000 VATS is just a poor substitute to turn-based combat. If Bethesda was trying to be creative, they failed. It gets boring to see heads fall off or simply explode, with same effects, for thousand times. Same old bullet-time. Nothing new.

I use it in NV, but it still is a one trick pony.

@MrVid1000 I use it, because then Fallout can be a bit something else than your-standard-WASD-shooter. It is not perfect, but I have seen most FPS since original Doom, and Fallout just sucks in that department (except in sniper-role, which I love btw)

@MrVid1000 Yeah, that was too bad. Van Buren looked really nice. Of course visuals and 'being there'-feeling is way better in F3/NV.

There are lots of mods for the PC version, and more is coming, but sadly turnbased combat is way too complex to be just a simple mod. Mods, however, make PC-NV way better - you can even bottle water and add radio stations..
