@RC62 It is a mute point I guess because it's hidden by the pannier. But if I were to leave them off for some time it would definitely get it painted.
The main reason they tell you to disconnect the battery, is so the ECU will reset the first time you power the bike up with the new exhaust. Kind of a self test adjustment after adding a slip on exhaust.
When i put the Yoshi on the SV, the strapping was stainless, but it had a white plastic strip on it to protect it during shipping. Cant believe they actually paint theirs white.
Looking nice. That seems like a pain to put all together. My exhaust is on the side of my bike so there was literally no disassembling of my bike other than the bolts to the exhaust. :)
@L0udP1p35 I tore the last pair I had at the end of the exhaust install. I had to put the new levers on without them. If I have lots of the same size bolts I will just throw in a bucket or can. it's those unusual ones that I tend to put back where I got them
@oymeit you sure you want one? they are kinda like women, expensive, lots of maintenance and need new shoes often....ok ladies don't get offended...:)
Honestly the white strap doesn't look bad. it breaks up the dark color like a stripe. :^)

@Wilks89 Yea that is what I was thinking but then I have to reload the ECU with a new map to best utilize the new exhaust.

@ToastToGo I like tinkering on things so it was not a pain. The pain was not having much room in my crowded garage.

Good point on using anti-seize on the clamp. I've ordered some exhaust shields for my FJR, and I'll do that when I bolt those on. I

@JimNtexas It's cheap assurance to make sure they will come off at some point.

@speedemon103 Oh I hate it, especially when everything else on the bike is silver or black.

Great general tips there, Britex. I make it a habit to put nuts and bolts back where they came from instead of in a coffee can, when it's possible.
And I always remember the latex gloves...just about the time my hands are really greasy and my nose itches lol.
