  • Yeah I remember when the Gobots came out in Japan, When I lived in America!!!!!

  • Even the Gobots commercials were cheap.

  • the gobots are like the kmart of transformers

  • Gobots were cool...until Transformers came along.

  • @tampalicious ha ha shoved down you throat. sorry you left it out there.

  • A transformers rip off

  • @criceto Actually it's the other way around. Gobots were out an entire year before the Transformers were and thus they were the rip offs not the Gobots.

  • @CelesteK check your information more thoroughly.

the first series of transformers robots were in production in japan in the 1970's. If i remember right, they were originally called diaclone.

  • @CatsLairArchives02 But I wasn't talking about when they were produced in Japan. I was talking about their production in North America. Hello?

  • Go-Bots are a joke of a toy line in the '80s

I mean one of the good go-bots transforms into a Moped, a fugg'n Moped

    How Lame Is That?

  • @Kitsuneranger Cy-Kill was a bad guy. He turned into a Moped. That's kind of lame in of itself, sure Transformers did lame things too but they never had a bike as the leader of the fucking bad guys

  • @sonic8005 a motorcycle

  • @sonic8005 Wrong, he changed into a motorcycle - hence the name CY-KILL.

  • @Kitsuneranger just wondering how old are you?if you caught the original line and toon check here.

  • @frankenstinful I'm 26

  • @Kitsuneranger so you didnt catch the original run.

  • @frankenstinful or toys for that matter.

  • @frankenstinful No, i had no interest in them

  • Was that a Gobot Iron Maiden's Eddie?

  • Dang, not just the show, but even the Gobots commercials were more ghetto than the Transformers commercials.

  • @brinpol they both had the same production values.

  • @frankenstinful The the Transformers people must have been wizards...the Gobot people, not so much.

  • I'm sure we all recieved a Gobot as a kid when we asked for a Transformer. =P I still liked 'em tho.

  • Me: mom can i get some transformers for christmas?

    MoM: sure hun

    Christmas day

    Me: WTF is this Crap!

Dad: (wispers in moms ear) told ya he wouldnt fall for it

Mom: but Kmart had such a good price for them

    Me: CHEAP BSTRDS

  • people keep telling me that Go-bots were out before the Transformers, not!!!!!!!! the transformers was originally a toy line from Takara "JAPAN" that was out way before it hit the U.S and gobots were ever conceive

  • I seem to remember some of the Go Bots, or was it another transforming robot line actualy went on to be remade as Transformers.

  • @stufaman if i remember right, it was the diaclone line produced by Takara in the early to mid 1970's

  • @CatsLairArchives02 That's true, along with many other brands of changing robots in 70s Japan. Both TF and GoBots were unions of several smaller brands collected and made thanks to 80s US marketing magic.

  • Cy-kill loves asking rhetorical questions.

  • @BassMasta178

actually in the cross over comic book series Megatron kills Cy-kill... was pretty funny actually.

  • I had the third "new" Go-Bot in this commercial (couldn't pick up the name from the audio here). Was actually decent quality with metal limbs. I also had the larger version of Cy-Kill, which was cool until his "wheel backpack" broke off.

TF was definitely a better toy line, though.

  • ridiculous!!!

  • I always hated space/monster themed Go-Bots and Transformers. You could tell they were complete cop-outs because their "vehicle" forms were like, unrecognizable dopey crap that you were supposed to "imagine" was some sort of spaces ship or something...

  • cy-KRAP can't make bots for shit

  • actually gobots were out before transformers

  • @vlawd5

its a misnomer, Gobots where a head on the market but only because Tonka rushed them through development. Hasbro had Transformers actually in development months before Tonka. Both toys had there good points but you could tell which were actually developed with well thought out plans and which weren't.

  • gobots = transformers knock off. plain and simple

  • @RantingRedHead1988 Gobots came first.

  • Ahhhhhhhh the Gobots. As a kid receiving a Gobot instead of a proper Transformer such as Soundwave, or Wheel Jack for x-mas was like going out with the hot redhead you had a crush on, cross eyed sister sporting a prosthetic leg. At least with the ugly sister a garbage bag could remedy the situation. No garbage bag could ever make CyKill a descent Megatron substitute. :(

  • @garciagungfu You almost make it sound like you have a point.

  • @garciagungfu

i liked both the toy series when I was a kid. I agree that the Gobots toy line was horribly simplistic but it was just like the show in simplicity.

  • @ByAnyMeansNeccesary TF & Gobots back than was like gold and silver is now: One was WAY more valuable than the other.

I remember kids in my school had to trade 3-4 gobots for a single TF.

    I once got 4 renegades for 1 Inferno :D

  • GoBots Vs Transformers The Movie

  • GoBots??? I swear this cartoon was called Machine Men.

  • I wonder if Cy-Kill could beat up Megatron?

Also, didn't they make a black or dark blue version of Cy-Kill later on?

  • Yes they did, but didnt sell too well

  • Why would you name a "monster" gobot bugsi? Lol.

  • Both came out around 1984

  • No! I'm saying that Transformers ripped off Gobots.

  • The Transformers came first, since the molds were older. Takara didn't call them Transformers then. Tonka copied the Japanese robos of 1980, while Transformers was being renamed, repackaged.

  • @icandoitbetter sorry dude, I did my research, go-bots came first =3

  • @6thhokagephil I dont know how old you are but I was there alive at the time (early 80s) and following it. Gobots did appear first as Tonka products in 1983. BUT the molds used by Tonka (which were Bandai and Popy released only a year before in Japan) are not as old as Takara's Diaclone's and Microman's of 1974 which later became used in the 1984 Transformers line. Even Takara beat Bandai/Popy by a few years in Japan.

  • @6thhokagephil TFs were being designed in 82!

  • I gotto admit Phsy-kill has a Damn AWSOME voice! ^^

makes me wanna buy the monster gobots! LOL ^^

  • Cool commercial. It's too bad that GoBots went this direction though. Powerful alien robots turning into bugs and rocks and shit should have been left to Transformers.

    GoBots > Transformers.

  • Um actually it was the other way around.

    Transformers > Gobots.

  • Wow i never saw this commercail when i was a kid. tanks for the upload.
