  • this is the second school i saw this year who used chorale and shaker dance . my concert band played that this year. and our show was the planets. but it was mars, venus, and jupiter

  • why? its a nice solo but not that creative or clean? i like the show but its too slow i think...

  • that snare solo at 5:09 still haunts me to this day... o___O

  • @pandaman415 -___-

  • The formations are really clear, great diagonals, balanced music and overall, wonderful overall effect.

  • hmmm...

if we did that show, with 2008's colorguard, and this years amount of people. O_O lol

  • aww! I miss you guys :)

this was the best year ever!

    we were damn good

  • Ahhh...from illuminations: reflections of earth at epcot!

  • wow i really like this show! it makes sense, the forms are great and the music is amazing! good job! where is arroyo hs?

  • El Monte, California

  • I really miss this show. ):

  • I agree. Very good 4A show. I was a member of Richland High School 2003, who won the 4A Texas State Championship and played Reflections of Earth the following year, along with "Ride."

  • after watching this again now

i say we should've scored higher than what we did

    amazing year

    gonna miss it

  • yeah. there were some really amazing parts that shined thru and makes me wonder how we pulled it off x.x

  • I'm not sure what you scored, but I can tell you as an educator problems that I saw with your performance. First I would like to say that you have a very strong woodwind section, which is a rare in the marching band world. The were pretty well balanced, and in tune most of the time (especially clarinets...good job!). The bad news is that you weren't very musical: everything was really loud with little, if any, dynamic quality. Also there were a lot of balance problems between the brass.

  • Your marching was not too bad. I only saw a couple of phasing problems here and there, and you kept your intervals relatively well. I'm not a percussion person, but from what I know there were very few problems. There were sometimes where they got off, but were able to find themselves again. I thought the voice-overs at the beginning of the opener were a little overdone (I think we got the point after the first one). Overall, if I had to rate this performance I would give it b/t an 88-92.

  • WHOOA DERICK WHOOO

  • Damn, I wish I wasn't a Freshman this year! lolF

  • clarinets sound awesome 8)

dude I miss last year so much ..

lets kick ass this year guys :)

  • nice musical composition!

  • Woohoo!! Go Knights!! =D

  • Wow, nice job.

  • Oh wow I didn't know we had vids on youtube. We actually looked pretty good. I can see me. =D

  • uh huhhhh suuuuuuure you can see yourself ! hahahaha.

  • Wow, you guys are nice for a 4A band.

I'm not really sure if your 4A but I'm just assuming, lol

  • yeah we are a 4A band. hopefully we can keep it at 4A next year

  • Thanks

  • Is this Arroyo High from EL Monte?

  • yes this is the Arroyo from El Monte,CA

  • yeah

but now most poeple are like "oh! ARROYO! that band that trailer overturned on the freeway!"

  • OH!

  • holy SHIT you guys are good

did you guys play a song from phantom's '96 show?

  • I'm not sure about '96 but this year's show, yeah.

  • i donnno.....man....

  • nice theme

    i like it

my school has the same name as yours ;)

cept our school's marching band is dying out....

    it's regrettable...

  • arroyo grande?

  • arroyo high

  • oh the marching dons from up north! i've heard of your school and band too!

  • How well did the "chaos" go with the judging I wonder...

and no, before you all lose your minds by arguing against me, I don't mean it to be offensive. I really am curious about how well this show scored.

  • We received a score of 74.80, which is respectable for a band who had started doing field shows just three years ago, this year being their "debut" year in the WBA circuit.

  • i miss field show you guys :(

  • :T when i said oceans it sounds like im saying

    OH SHIT

  • sounds more like BULLSHIT

  • This was awesome. you guys have come really far. this was amazing. i particularly love those moments when the brass shined though. my heart goes out to the drumline and Tim the tuba. hahaha

  • awesome job guys. i am so proud of you. you have made it so far the past couple of years. i wish i could still be there to be a part of it. congratulations on a very great season. good luck in the winter. see you guys around... you know i'll try my best to pop outta nowhere and see you perform.

jonathon... good job yelling during the opener. jk.

  • its not diep julius, its me >:[

  • he's talking about MOLECULES and COMPOUND probably because jonathan sounds like he's yelling. :D

  • yep yep.... thats exactly what i am talking about. =) i know who's who... =)

  • lmao my bad julius xD

    <3

  • i love the tenors .... so kool .... again, thanx for the season =] ..... drummers, get ready for indoor... we are gonna rape lines with the line >=] ... gay i know, im sry

  • great show guys .... i love it =D .... man, those dark skinned tenor players fucking rape =]

  • that guy is a sick noob... ;) the other one rapes... nah in general that's a sick tenor line

  • seriously, joe needs to stfu and go suck dick already. lmao

  • I just want to say BRAVO to the colorguard who had their most successful year. I know last year they started late with new girls and they did their best. This year they gave those other schools a run for their money!!! You go girls!!!!

  • THANK YOU! =]

  • man that call to attention was so clean >_> it surprises me every time i hear it. good show guys. thanks for the good season, even the silly freshmen

    -emo

  • damn the pit feature at around 1:39 is BOMB

  • lol i think the bari sax was BOMB

  • hahaha.

  • I must say, you've guys have grown A LOT over these past 4 years that I've seen you. Such huge improvements in your program! :)

BTW, nice closer. "Firebird" by Igor Stravinsky is my fave especially because Phantom Regiment played it this past year.

  • Thanks for the compliment! I also enjoyed your band's field show this year. It just so happens that your closer is the same piece I had to conduct for evaluations at Drum Major camp haha fun stuff!

  • Haha, did you go to Irvine? Our drum majors and our woodwind captain went there. I went there the year before. And one of the drum majors had One More Time as an evaluation piece too! (I'm the brass captain at Gab BTW heheh)

  • haha I went to the Irvine one the year before. This year I was at the UCLA camp.

  • daymm look at that marimba player.. who is that.. so awesome.

  • seriously

  • guard improved alot if we wouldve had at least one more feild tourn befor finals we wouldve had a better chance.... xD

  • everyone always says one more. =/

  • Actually the narration is necessary to explain the plot and the trumpets are not whiny. They are in fact almost too energetic lol Anant if you're reading you know what i mean haha

  • Hell yeah Derick, thug life. Lol I like the narration, basically because it's my part x]

  • i think the bari sax was too energetic

  • really, jason? you think he was too energetic?

  • what bari sax?

  • i dont like the narration x.x

balance needs some work, trumpets are whiny overall

intonation also needs work. but i think that the concept was pretty good.

  • I bet that if our band was placed in SCSBOA instead of WBA we would have definetly made it to 4A championships. Our scores in SCSBOA would have been like 85-87!!! Also if you look at the previous shows you cann see mucho improvement. Yeah still #1 in the district!

  • I can't believe that they only gave us a score of 74.80!!! I think it should have been like a 79.

  • I think atleast 84... :D

  • i thought it was better than fountain valleys show

  • LOL

  • btw 14ptquake. we got great placing for the stuff that we were taught, but the individual execution and judging we got like last place. SO even though percussion did get last place. had we gotten an 80, nothing would have changed... LOL

  • joe you're dumb

    1. we didn't get last place

    2. regardless of if our placing would have changed, we deserved a way better score than that.

    3. stop talking joe you make me sad

  • seriously, he needs to to stfu already and keep his big mouth shut.

  • lol,

    baddy.

  • yay my first field sho

  • woot!!! the best field show colorguard did this year :)

  • cant believe how sexy that sax arc was xD

  • man i love this show :D lets do it once a month for fun guys :D and when diep says ocean sounds like o shit :D

  • lmao thats not diep, its me fool.

diep only has 2 vocals in the beginning, molecules and compounds -_-"

  • that sax arc was PERFECT

    lol heck yea =D

  • sadface :(

i'm going to miss you seniors D:

    i love you guys<3
