Wow $1million dollars donated by the US after dropping millions of mines and more bomb tonnage than in WW2! How stupid can you get? If the US govt gave Ho Chi Minh a fraction of the cash they spent during the Vietnam War, the US could have been friends with Vietnam in 1955 rather than 1995. Instead all those lives and money were wasted because of American imperialism
I couldn't agreed with you more, the US Govt made a huge mistake by supported the French to retake Vietnam and ignored Ho Chi Minh pleading the US for help to become a Democratic country. As a GI Kid myself, i hope we all learned from this mistake and moving forward for the better future between the two Country. God Bless !
Very incredible to see these former rivals embrace each other. The fact that these left-over explosives are still claiming lives is horrifying, but I am glad that people are cognizant of this and working to clear out these bombs and mines.
