  • Awesome video! btw my sis followed this very popular diet plan called: Impact 790 Diet and already lost 6 kgs in a month. I can not remember the actual site just Google it.

  • its hard to believe that when he was playing ball at Georgia and in the Pros he only at one meal a day and that was salad and soup....where did he get his protein and energy from.

  • Why not but this is obviously not the optimal way of building muscles. Look at bodybuilders diet, even the natural ones. Their diet has worked for decades and is widely documented.

  • @82bdog:

So what? His lifestyle suggestion works and it is easy. You do not have to drink coffee or coke if you do not want to. He does and choice is the American way!

  • A salad and soup.... Riiiiight. Must be a whole chicken swimmin' in that soup bowl. Oh yeah, he did mention something about "juice" hint hint.

  • The idea is, You eat enough calories in a single meal to saturate your body with enough calories that when you wake up the next day you burn the fat off as opposed to muscle since the previous night your body experienced a very large meal, so your body assumes you have plenty of food. The problem is, Your organs are eating themselves once mid afternoon rolls around. I would be interested to see how long Hershal lives, I seriously doubt a diet like this would work very well for an elderly man.

  • @elfmachine100

Dude, I've been doing my homework and I can assure you that the body first has to use up it's glycogen reserves stored in the liver, kidneys and muscles first, about three days. THEN it dips into the fat reserves. Only when all the bodyfat is used up does the body then start burning muscle tissue then the organs.

Evolution designed us to be able to keep going as long as possible during times of scarcity. Muscle does NOT go before blubber.

  • @pinz2022 That's not entirely true. The type of fuel being used for energy depends on the intensity of the exercise. At lower intensity you will use a combination of carbs & fats to create energy. Obviously that diet works for him but we'd need to know everything he eats over a 7 day period. Obvisouly he must still be eating quite a lot of calorie to maintain this size. Muscles don't grow out of thin air.

  • @pinz2022 thank you for posting you know your stuff , too much misinformation out there .

  • He lying his ass off lol... smh lying ass lol

  • @Mitchaboi85 word how the hell he does 1500 push ups everyday and eats at night that dont make sense lol

  • Check out "The Primal Blueprint". Not only will you lose weight and bulk up but a great side effect is you will not desire alchohol at all.

  • @ritewng1 oh you mean the guy that tells people not to eat carbs yet he needs coffee and coca-cola to get through the day?

  • Love this! Thanks for sharing this interview.

  • AND he warms up training wit 1500 push ups and 3500 sit ups. that shit is fucking impossible idc about genetics

  • I've never seen a 49 year old with the muscle defintion and size like he has. Amazing. I wonder how much is due to genes, versus diet/exercise. I'm sure it's all related...but something tells me any diet remotely healthy would yield the same result for him if he keeps his exercise regime.

  • As long as you get your days caloric requirements in a single meal,it's fine to eat just one.

A lot of people on the warrior diet(which advocates the same thing) have raved about it.

Judging from his physique it does really well for him.

Me,i enjoy eating though,it's fun to munch away as i'm watching tv and stuff, etc.Sad to do it just once a day :)

  • that must be a hell of a soup and salad to keep his size

  • This guy is a genetic freak! Idk how he could play football at such a high level and have so much mass and barely eat?! I'd be grubbing Down hard!!

  • absolute freak of nature. wow!

  • Homeboy is smart. He's in fantastic shape, and he also is wise enough to know that people are different and this might not work for everyone.

  • don't know. my little kids eat more than me on a given day. i work out heavy at the gym, no supplements, and i'm almost 250 lbs. i'm not cut like he is, cause i drink a lot and smoke. but i'm still one of the strongest guys at my gym. he's just a phenom.

  • sounds like ketosis to me

  • And if I was looked up to by hundreds of people... I'd lie my ass off for shits and giggles too.

  • how big is this chicken soup? must be 3000 calories at least lol...

  • I've been eating this way for almost five years...Losing over 125 lbs and still counting. More energy, more strength, joy and peace!!

  • alot of people dont relize how so many american children or children all over the world do not eat or eat poorly everyday they have to dig deep to find strength I wish some of these celebrities instead of worrying about dogs or some stupid charity would think like Micheal Jackson in care about the children people are so selfish

  • @thompkinsbilal2

    whoa whoa..

I think caring for dogs is a nobel cause.. someone has to think of the animals.

I dont think there are any " stupid charity". I mean, need is need.

however I understand your passion and that you are coming from a place of love and compassion for life.

  • hes such a humble man in athlete God bless him hes been through so much poverty in his younger life in grew strength from it like Moses did

  • A buddy of mine drink a fruit shake in the am and a bean and egg sandwhich a day and that's it and he's ripped!!!

  • i think its just ment for him. hes got gentetics man...im sure if anyone wanted to follow his routine cause u were inspired by him or watever.u would be harming urself and turn out to be a cut skinny ass weighing at 120 lbs. so dont do wat he does. make ur own routine.

  • Most NOI do that. I use to do that in college and I was in the best shape of my life.

  • there is something to this that we fully do not understand.Notice how he said that he had been doing this for years, maybe his body and in particular his mitochondria have adapted to his low calorie but not low nutrient based diet.

that's the thing we need to understand here,if its true what he is saying,we can indeed have a low calorie yet high nutrient based diet and protein is over-hyped still very confusing ,maybe we should feed the starving third world on salad and soup?it could be lies...

  • b0ss i eat one meal a day its fucking me up

  • @o2FRESH4u hahaha

  • Yes, I agree that a few meals a day is better than eating 5-6 meals a day. But I am just wondering what his one meal looks like in order to maintain that muscle mass? I'm afraid now that UFC owns Strikeforce we won't be seeing him fight again there since Dana White thinks he sucks and won't match him up with another pushover.

  • @sclaysdharma acutally im sure if he did decide to eat more then just 1 meal a day. he would reach a much higher potential. im sure he could make himself alot stronger if he did a carb+protein diet and did weights. but he's happy at were he's at now so it dont matter

  • warrior diet. fuck yeah.

    love this shit

  • Herscel is still just an unbelievable athlete. His work ethic is what makes him special, not may people on this planet have his desire to continue to get better and better.

The only other person I could even compare him to would be Bo Jackson, another animal in his prime.

  • 1."I eat one meal a day" not "I eat one small meal a day" you can get all your calories in 1 meal, trust me.

  • His diet is not the best but it works for him. Genetics is why he looks like that.

  • @alansjf33 Thats the biggest myth in the world, genetics is not why he looks like that. Incredible work ethic and a decent amount of calories from healthy food got him like that. It's a complete fallacy that fat lazy fucks spread so they can continue to eat twinkies.

People who work hard for what they have get sick of morons like you telling people we only look good because we have good genetics. We look good because we put in the work and aren't dip shits like you.

  • @ACLogikel you are just being ignorant. I am a former ball player , so i know that hershel had to put in great work in order to look the way he does at his age. But genetics has alot to do with his athletic success and that is a fact . The average athlete DOES NOT EAT ONE MEAL A DAY IN A BLENDER,AND CAN BRAG ABOUT NEVER LIFTING WEIGHTS, and still be a great football player. Same thing with lawrence Taylor who did not lift weights and lived on a steady diet of coke . These two were blessed.

  • Ridiculous Ridiculous RIDICULOUS GENETICS!

  • @jaxblade07 in most cases your right but, herschel worked for everything he has.

  • Another vegan kicking ass.

  • is Herschel really a vegan i thought he eat chicken soup, bread and salad. well he could be eating other animal products too.. like dairy.

  • This man is a beast and an amazing athlete. His combination of size and speed was only matched by Bo Jackson. Herschel is someone that ppl should emulate....

  • Well... I hate to say it, but we really know nothing about how the Human body is sustained. There have been dozens of tests now on people who can live, and grow, and have new cell generation in their body, without eating any food for years at a time, just water. How can our body reproduce new cells without food? It seems contrary to all our known science. I don't understand it either, but Walker is walking proof. He looks like a guy who eats 7000 calories daily and takes sterorids.

  • How da fuck...

  • He definitely has to have one of a kind genetics , it's like he said in this clip.."everybody is not the same". Back in 1998 for most of the year I went on a one big meal in the morning with a small snack like meal just before bed so I wouldn't be hungry trying to sleep.I never got used to it.I dropped from 195 lbs down to 162 lbs at 5'11" tall. I stayed in a constant state of tiredness and lost strength. When I started eating 3 times a day again, my strength, energy, and weight came back.

  • @undergroundbasement When you eat that meal makes a difference, try a small snack in the morning, and eating the big meal at night, 3 hours before bed, not the other way around. Hershey eats his meal at night, not the morning.

  • He eats nothing all day until 8 or 9 pm at night. How is that possible? When I work out an hour a day hard I feel weak and dizzy if I go more than 3 hours without eating!

  • @dean2663 hmmm... how thats possible? probably, we are wrong about how to eat and what and when to eat, how often. what are the biggest animals, the biggest mammals on the earth? what do they elephants, hippos, horses...? where do they get the protein from? of course, when we are used to some way of eating... breaking these habits are hard, you may for some time feel dizzy, weak... when you have a mess in your room... to make it clean is hard... but then, its fantastic... same with human body

  • F*ck Chuck Norris. It's all about Herschel Walker

  • @EpiLesPaul24 Well you can't reallyy talk shit until you can actuallyy do +1500 pushups and then go on and win MMA fights in your late 40's...

-With love from the Keyboard Warrior.

  • Nothing wrong with this diet man. Its how we all used to eat back in the day. We would hunt and gather and then have a big meal by campfire light. You know the warrior diet.

  • Comment removed

  • hahah honestly this guys sucha fuckin hoax. first of all your muscles build responding to stress, when u keep applying the same stress ur body gets used to the movement and will stop building to that movement. and your muscles need energy to be used. its physically impossible to get the muscle he has from a fuckin soup and salad a day + 1500 pushups a day. anyone who believes thats a fuckin tool

  • @EpiLesPaul24 you must be young ,do your research on him 1st!

  • @EpiLesPaul24 Its genetics, i know black guys who are ripped like he is and they dont do anything

  • @oscie1

His success is due to his hard work. Genetics are a small (very small) part of it. Do us a favor and send us the link for 1 medical study published by an accredited medical journal or university supporting your claim that blacks have a physiological advantage over anyone else. If not, shut the fuck up....................please.

  • @drbayoms Your an idiot if you think success is only the result of hard work, genetics play a huge part, some people are born with more energy than others and are naturally more coordinated. Its clear to see that certain blacks from certain countries(ivory coast, senagal) for example are naturally ripped and big(cheik kongo) blacks dominate all the fucking sports and hold all the records for speed and endurance, no need for a medical study and im not black by the way.

  • @oscie1

Trust me, you did not have to tell me you weren't black. I pretty much discerned that from your idiotic post. Genetics DOES NOT play a MAJOR role in sports success. It is a factor (a small factor). I constantly see that lie being passed around as a cowardly way of diminishing the success of black athletes. It is a way of pumping yourself up by saying " I had to work harder than him". I am not black either. Post the Medical study......or shut the fuck up.

    PS, it's: "You're an idiot".

  • @drbayoms I disagree

  • @drbayoms

"Genetics DOES NOT play a MAJOR role in sports success"

Look up twin studies. Genetics play the dominant role in both cognitive ability and sports performance.

  • @oscie1 Black Africans are genetically more diverse than any racial group on this planet. It is the origin of humanity after all.

White people are just a small minority that migrated out of Africa and stayed inbreeding, they probably most likely descend from Africans that were similar to Ethiopians (pointed nose, wavy hair) and lost their pigment.

  • this guy is a freak of nature, and i mean that in the nicest way possible

  • It's called the Warrior Diet. Check it out.

  • Chicken? The man is a vegaterian.

  • @3089280288 : Says who? He only said he doesn't eat red meat and people do put chicken in salads. He said nothing about being a vegetarian.

  • @auggiedoggy He was on the Apprentice and I believe he mentioned it.

  • @3089280288 : Ok. I was only going by what he said in this video.

  • how many calories does that soup contain

  • Comment removed

  • the real question is how big that salad is. if it is like pounds and pounds of salad, then this diet isn't beyond belief.

  • I"m with him. People will be surprised that you will find yourself more energetic. You have to get used to if for a few days but this is best. I do it and I now swear by it.

  • @davidvirgodc How is his diet biologically plausible?

As an aspiring medical student, I call BULLSHIT on his pseudoscience.

  • @The3nlightened0ne remember doctors are not the individuals with the highest IQs ..

  • @Sexiiimamita180

Yet in comparison, our IQs are high enough to endure the intellectual rigors of medical school.

Let me guess, you believe Herschel's philosophy on nutrition despite its contradiction to science? How do we know that Mr. Walker himself isnt bullshitting through this medium?

  • @The3nlightened0ne an aspiring medical bullshiter, science has absolutely no opinion on this diet what so ever.

  • @doddsalfa So by definition, pseudoscience suggests this diet.

  • @The3nlightened0ne

His body (the way it looks) is the result of the diet. That does not mean it will/will not have an adverse affect on his long term health. So what, it works for him. Also, you are embarking on a "profession" (if you are being truthful) that makes it's living off of "bullshitting" the masses. Nobody here is impressed.

"As an aspiring medical student". Should we bow before reading your post? Most of us are "aspiring millionaires". Want to see my lottery ticket? Fuck off

  • @drbayoms Woah, easy there kid. No one's hurting you.

All I'm saying is that there is no scientific proof for the benefits of his diet. I speak from an unbiased perspective, unlike you, a deluded fanboy.

I strongly recommend you read legal medical and nutritional journals on dietary influences on the body. A physique like his does not conform to a diet he speaks about.

Tell me, why do you believe this advocate of pseudoscience? No pun intended. I respect you for reading this.

  • @The3nlightened0ne

There are tons of diet regimens that can lead to an aesthetically healthy looking physique. That does not mean it is healthy. I take him at his word when he says "I eat this way and this is the result". And respectfully, the field you are aspiring to be a part of, would be more guilty of pseudoscience. Big Pharma/Medicine is notorious for "independent studies" & suppressing information about certain drugs.

  • @The3nlightened0ne

I read the medical article. Correct me if I am wrong on this. Was there samples of chromosomes, genes, or proteins taken or examined? Or was this simply a series of test given to MZ twins? Any information in this study about the education level of the twin’s parents? Any information about the parent’s profession & income? Any information about the mother access to health care?

  • @The3nlightened0ne

Parent’s education level, health, income and yes genetics correlate with “intelligence“. Any samples of any kind taken from parents? I am not being facetious. I also did not see anything pertaining to physical genetic advantages. Which was initially implied by someone else, and “co-signed” by you. If I missed something let me know, no sarcasm.

  • @The3nlightened0ne

Neural development of babies is closely tied to a mother‘s health among other things. I saw nothing on that. What I read (it seems) is a study taking twins and then administering a group test. The threshold for determining genetic cognitive ability has to consist of more than a group of test. Were there any actual genetic markers (allele arrangement, increased levels of androgen or proteins, hell I don‘t know)?

  • @drbayoms You still havnt given me my proof.

  • @The3nlightened0ne

Not to be difficult, but I saw nothing that said: Yes, we can find in the genetic structure of a person the markers that will determine their intelligence.

  • Comment removed

  • @The3nlightened0ne I agree I have been a big fan of his since I was a kid (i'm from georgia) and I think he's eating more than what he says. I workout alot and you have to eat enough calories to keep muscle like that.

  • It's hard to believe that salad and soup can maintain/feed that much muscle. Especially if he's running 4 miles a day or doing significant cardio like he's stated.

  • I'm not saying he is a liar, but i'm saying he has given conflicting information on some of his practices. 1000 pushups a day is a lot to begin with, but 5000 a day is a whole different story. For me, 1000 repetitions of most excercises would eventually lead to tendonitis for myself, as I need at least a day for tissue to rebuild itself. Herschel is impressive, but I have enough reason to doubt some of his claims. I know someone who is a chronic liar, it's almost like a mental condition

  • @IIarcon2II No hes just an animal hes a great athlete and he pushes himself im not a good athleter nor did i have great cardio but i went thru fights just pushing myself now i run 5 miles a day so now im a fucking beast but thats beside the point he can do it my grandpa used to do it when he got out a prison 500 push ups and a 1000 sit ups so i figure herschal walker is twice as big more muscle probly rich o wait he is so doesnt work so he can excercise all day and maybe he does sets of pushups?

  • Herschel Walker is amazing. His physicality and his mindset. Yes, I know about this guy. His accomplishments. But I have a hard time believing some of his claims. I've heard him say he does 1000 -1500 pushups a day and another occasion 5000 pushups a day, of course along with situps and whatever else he does with training. I've known people who are perfectly intelligent and pleasant, can carry a normal conversation and have normal relationships, but they can be chronic liars.

  • @IIarcon2II

I suspect you are one of those people.

  • If he is for real, then he has some seriously gifted genes

  • he must shit like goose then.that would run ritght through you

  • This guy is lying. Everyone who believe's him is dumber than he is. Anyone who knows about exercise science, knows that a guy that size, can not live off one meal a day. He is 220 pounds, and it would take 3000 calories, if not more to feed his body, let alone keep and build muscle. If he really ate one meal a day, he would wither down to nothing.

  • @Corbin352002 What incentive would he have to lie? And, honestly, are you a scientist or a nutrition expert? Didn't think so.

  • @Corbin352002 Maybe that one meal a day just happens to be the biggest meal in the world. He probably sits down to eat for three hours.

  • @Corbin352002 well said. +1

  • @Corbin352002 agreed

  • yea whatever,no way he keepsthis type of muscle frame on 1 meal a day and that being a soup, not possible

  • @mmadigest You are an idiot if you think that he eats just a salad and soup. YOUR BODY NEEDS CALORIES TO OPERATE. It doesn't work like that.

  • @LMW87MMA Yeah well his body doesn't operate like a normal person. How many 49 year old men have a friggin body like that?

  • @Number1RoleModel HIS BODY CANNOT OPERATE AGAINST THE LAWS OF SCIENCE. Your body builds muscle and burns energy because of FOOD. If you burn more calories than you take in, you lose weight. If you believe a guy with split personality disorder when he says that he does things that are scientifically impossible, do you REALLY believe him? Are you that stupid?

  • @LMW87MMA Conventional nutritional knowledge is designed to make people sick from overeating. Then they can go to hospitals and waste all their savings on drugs and tests. Conventional nutritional knowledge is designed to create consumers rather than healthy enlightened individuals.

Our body'd main source of energy is oxygen not food.

  • @LMW87MMA Conventional nutritional knowledge is designed to make people sick from overeating. Then they can go to hospitals and waste all their savings on drugs and tests. Conventional nutritional knowledge is designed to create consumers rather than healthy enlightened individuals.

Our body's main source of energy is oxygen not food.

  • @LMW87MMA doesn't mean he is not drinking protein shakes with mad calories and protein in it

  • @Number1RoleModel He has specifically said "I don't worry about protein". Stop trying to argue with me, I know what I'm talking about

  • @LMW87MMA No you don't, I believe Walker...Just look at him and what he has done, he knows what he is doing and I will believe him anyday over a nobody like you :)

  • Comment removed

  • @Number1RoleModel Hmm, so you believe someone when they claim to defy science, and that his body can produce energy without burning anything for fuel. Where did you go to school?

  • @LMW87MMA Digesting takes a lot of energy and is a large toll on the body. If you can alleviate that drain then the body will be much healthier. Most of our energy comes from oxygen, the sun and other rays from the universe. It doesn't come from pounding protein shakes. That's nothing but a con job perpetuated by advertising and profit seeking. The more something is advertised the less beneficial it really is.

  • @howitzer24 Sounds to me like you're "breathatarian" or whatever that bullshit sect is... whose proponents have been exposed endlessly and whose followers have often died. You're following something that is universally scientifically debunked. I'm not going to reply to you again after this because you're obviously a) crazy or b) incredibly uneducated.

  • @LMW87MMA Breathing gives us life.

What do you think Walker's motivation is then for lying about his diet?

  • @howitzer24 the protein is for building muscles not for energy. right?

  • @JULIOKILLZ I don't think he's in there to be champion, just doing it for the hell of it. He'll take a step up in competition, but I don't think he's looking to become a champion, just doing it for the passion and competition of it.

  • @mmadigest Herschel Walker spoke to my behavioral health group today (I am a recovering drug addict) about his battle with D.I.D. or multiple personality disorder. He said competition has always been a way for him to cope with some of the more aggressive personalities he developed. He also said clearly that he does not fight just to fight. He fights to win. He looks at winning like "life and death". A very cool dude with lots of insight. I was blessed to have him speak to my group.

  • @JULIOKILLZ

    your mistaking hype for attention!

  • @JULIOKILLZ your a fucking retard. Of course there is someone that would beat him, but the man is 48 years old you incensitive prick! Imagine how good he would be if he started earlier. He is an old man, beatin the shit out of young guys, and all the money he gets he gives to charity. The man is a class act, and an amazing human being. So please, Go fuck yourself :)

  • @0621mike well said....

  • @0621mike Hey, Fuck you

  • @JULIOKILLZ You no nothing MMA so stop it. And that list of fighters you mentioned there, in the earlier post... those guys are over rated bums, Fabricio Werdum is terrible, the only way he can win fights is with his jiu jitsu, he gets knocked out daily. And your boy Allistair was in the light heavy, but got knocked out so much he moved up to heavy weight. BUM, CHUCK LIDDELL BEAT THE SHIT OUT OF HIM!

  • @0621mike

arguing with a cunt with a cunt attitude- nothing gets resolved. Werdum has only been finished once in his entire career he isn't terrible at all. Just because he uses his jitz to win fights does not mean he is terrible-it just means that is his strong point.

  • @0621mike You're the know nothing. what does it matter how werdum wins. with or without his bjj it's still a win fuck nugget thats like saying shane carwin only wins by knockouts you fucking moron. So what if chuck liddell beat overeem before, you act like chuck went undefeated his whole career. want me to name every one who chuck lost to. your stupid fucking argument holds no water.

  • @0621mike Point is =, herschel is a monster, he is 48 k, and is just trying to have fun. So get off his nutz, and mine.. please.

  • @JULIOKILLZ Are you calling Herschel Walker a bum and has beens, you idiot.

  • @doddsalfa fuck you

  • @JULIOKILLZ talkin shit about 50 year old fckn legend... nice...he just does what he wants to do dnt hate on him cuz hes a badass

  • @gonzojon : He's hating on a 50 year old. How pathetic is that? lol

  • @JULIOKILLZ The guys 49 years old have some respect you worthless parasite.

  • Herschel Walker is a freak human being!! I bet he'll look like this when he 75.lol

  • first thing that brought to my head is "roids" if not then thats amazing man, thank you

  • One meal a day and he looks like that? Riiiiiiiight.

One meal plus 10 litres of protein supplement every half hour.
