It was a great communal meeting place, greasy spoon cafes, Bites & Derisford cheap shops; remember all the events/galas , celebrities. music, majorettes etc.
I remember when the roof above the stage was taken off for some daft reason!Plus also used the wimpey cafe..mum shopped at presto(used to be liptons)I would go to the Market and buy my singles there!It's a shame about the centre getting pulled down.Remember the rumours that when tesco was being built,there would be loads of designer shops around it to shop in???on a council estate?? It was never gonna happen.
NEVER .. i used to go to the centre daily .. remember cannyman :) the sweetshop , i got my head stuck in the bars on that stage thing climbing backwards through it and the firemen from whinmoor fire station came got me out haha , and that cafe that never had anyone in it that had sugar bowls with sugar cubes in , outside the centre ... fuckinell man ... sad to see it go , along with the high rise flats in swarcliffe ... childhood memories.. mad eh ...old skool ls14.. safe for the vid :)

I miss the old shopping centre, I could get everything from there... Now it's a TESCO that happens to have a few other places near it. :(

Patels was great, I remember the batmobile he had built, the Bites Cafe did a great cup of tea :-) I remember the wimpy to.
