  • i really like it!!! would like to know the difference between using a nylon verses a ponytail/ rubber band of some kind?

  • Is there a reason you choose to use a comb to slick down your edges rather than a brush?

  • I loved it!!!

  • very pretty

  • very good

  • Great look!

  • CUTE LOOK!!!

  • Very Lovely, i like the blondish brown color in your puff!! nice touch!

  • @ikimonogakari2 Thanks, but that's just my color growing out. The color is almost completely gone now! Just a teenie bit left on the tips.

  • @ShidaNatural how many inches is ur hair here?? or how far do ur hair go to?

  • Love this!

  • okay, this is gonna sound stupid , but how did you cut your piece of nylon so it's thick enough and long enough? I know I shouldn't probably do this but I like my pony tails/puffs smooth and tight, can you really get it smooth and tight with your piece of nylon? I'm sure that is much healthier for your hair. Please respond, God Bless

  • cute..love this look on you

  • love the music

  • WATS THE LAST SONG AT THE END? N CAN I JUST USE A BAND 2 REPCE THE NYLON?

  • I love this video. I was doing my braid outs and twist outs with small sections of hair. I would make like 12+ braids. It takes me a while to finish braiding my hair and the way you did you hair looks easy and quick to do and style. Thanks for posting this video and the music is great. I loved listening to it while watch your video ;-)

  • love your personality...and the PUFF (I know 500 years late) is the BOMB!

  • HEY GIRL COULD U TELL ME WAT U USED AND EXACTLY WAT U DID.. THANKS

  • Really cute! and OMG u do NOT look like ur old enough to have a 14 yr. old daughter!!! u look no older than 27 when ur all dolled up!

  • Love the video, love your hair

  • Daaaamn Yu did a Nicee Job w. ur hair ! Love it !

  • omg you recorded/uploaded this vid on my birthday!!

    ++ LOVE your hair ;V

  • @y0nNeTte Well, Happy belated Birthday!

  • Beautiful sweety, love your hair.

  • @lovingutube1 Thanks!

  • I tried this and my hair didn't turn out like yours. :'(

  • @intoxicatedbiscuit What products did you use?

  • @ShidaNatural I used the Cantu line of products. The moisturizer and the gel. I even let my hair stay in braids as long as you did.

  • Hello again, I'm not sure if you saw my other post but I was thinking of doing a braid out with rollers on the ends to curl my relaxed hair. How should I care for hair at night...rebraid it or just wear satin bonnett? Thank you so much for sharing you expertise!

  • Did you do this style on damp/wet hair or was it dry? Also where did you get your hat from that you were wearing?

  • @ymw08 My hair was dry when I applied ShidaNatural's Moisturizing Cream right before putting my hair into braids. I think I got that hat from either Charlotte Rousse or Wet Seal. I know I bought some of my knitted hats from these 2 stores, but can't remember which one. I've also gotten some of my knitted hats from Delia's.

  • Hello, I want to do a braidout on my hair as a transitioning style but have a question as to how I should take care of it at night. I plan to use Miss Jessie's Curly Pudding as per a suggestion of my hair dresser. So what should I do when it's time to go to bed, rebraid my hair or put on my satin bonnett. Thanks!

  • @jayjaysofresh It was my pleasure!

  • cool dude lol x :P

  • Very pretty puff

  • daht was real cute

  • super cute!!

  • Hello ShidaNatural, I hope all is well. I have been in transition for 1 year and I have finally achieved 100% natural hair.....no more perm!! I am now in the trial and error part of finding the right products for my hair. I really enjoy watching your videos (very informative). Keep up the good work. God Bless!!

  • LUV IT!!!!!

  • lve your nieces musicc. like her style. good tutorial too!

  • Oh wow a nylon!

    Thanks ^___^

  • Your niece is so talented! I love her song! :-) I checked out her Myspace page. You must be really proud of her. Btw love the tutorial!~

  • Whats the name of the 1st song...something about good girls? I like your video. I use Jojoba oil to moisturize my natural hair naturally.

  • The song is called "Good Girl"

  • feeling the music (she sounds like tiffany evenas who made "promise ring") and the puff.

  • You go girl!! This video was SO entertaining even w/ the lil taking-daughters-to skool hiatis. haha, you did such a good job on showing how to achieve this look and your niece is hott! (no homo) She is so cute, and her music is so catchy, hope she makes it!!

  • You answered a huge question for my daughter. The stocking ....she had no idea of how to puff her hair.

  • Watch many puff video's love yours the most. Thanks again!

  • @denariarmstrong1 Wow! I'm honored! That means a lot boo boo.

  • Great vid! Your hair and makeup look really nice-I enjoyed the tutorial-very nicely put together:)

  • @swallacegray Thanks!

  • what type of moisturizer did you use in your hair

  • I used the moisturizing cream from my recently launched hair product line, ShidaNatural's Healthy Hair Care Products for your Moisturizing & Nourishing Needs. My latest video tells you all about the products in my new line, and how you can purchase them.

  • I do my puffs almost the same way put what I was missing was the gel and rattail comb part. I was having trouble getting my edges slicked down. So when this wash and go gets old I am going to try this.

  • lol i was trying to pay attention to the tutorial but i kept dancing to the music! i love the song and after 3 times i finally controlled myself and was able to watch the video.

  • great vid! very cute syle & your niece's music is jammin!

  • lovin this style. Watched it over and over to see how you did it with the stocking. Thanks

  • @denariarmstrong1 It really is very, very simple. A piece of stocking/nylon is the best headband in the world. lol

  • Gorgeous!! I do my puffs the same way. I can't wait until my hair grows to your length! Those glasses are fierce, btw!

  • @LovelyLady301 Thanks girl. About the glasses... If you look closely, you may see the hairline at the nose part of my frames from where they broke in half, and where I had to superglue them until it's time to get another pair. lol

  • life saver!! thx much!

  • I hope this way of doing the puff works for you.

  • I love your hair & the puff style looks great on you! I've recently transitioned to natural hair & the Joie Naturals My Gel is awesome! Congrats on your 1 yr anniversary!

  • Yes! The Joie My Gel is what's up!

  • Great video! Your niece sounds fantastic!

  • Thanks!

  • man, your hair is growing so fast. it looks lovely. i like the color

  • I actually just trimmed. I'm slowly trimming off my colored ends. I can't wait til all the blonde parts are completely gone. My ends were very damaged from overprocessing my hair with color over the years, but I haven't colored in over a year or two, and my hair is becoming more and more healthy the more I clip the colored ends.

  • funny video! I am now offically in this going natural thing to win it....My last perm was nov 13, 09 so im now one wk over -Yea Me!!! I normally get my relaxer every mo like clock wk. If u can help... I tryn 2 learn more hairstyles to hide my new growth until it has grown out enough. Help. Healthy First Right?!?!

  • Hey MegaMizzDiva.. I transitioned for about a year before doing the BC, and my main style during the transition was cornrows and braidouts (with a headband). I also wore a sew-in weave occasionally... and yes, healthy first... growth will come. :-)

  • Even your simple puff is beautiful, I liked the structure of the video and I must say that the music is also wonderful. She will have a good career.

  • 14- year old daughter? Girl u look like ur only 20 something urself ;=) Great tutorial...and music! Your Niece sounds awesome. Much luv to u both.

  • 20 something! Gee, thanks!!!

  • Another great video.Your hair is looking so healthy.

  • I love the way your hair looks. What cream product are you using to provide mositure? I have found that my hair is super dry in the winter time.

  • @e93usefu It's actually my own product that is being launched within the next week or two. It's called ShidaNatural's Moisturizing Cream and it's part of the ShidaNatural's Hair Care Products for your Moisturzin & Nourishing Needs (line). You will hear more about soon when I make the product launch video. You're gonna love the moisturizing cream, especially during the drier winter months.

  • Thank you so much for showing me how to get the edges slicked down. Very helpful. I love your hair by the way!

  • Your hair has grown nicely. Love the look. Yeah I have a Mac too and they do come with alot of bells and whistles. But if there is an Apple Store around where you live, you can take classes there for free. Just go to Apple's website.

  • Great video...And I will definitely be trying this one .. It is very cute.. Oh and I love the Fox grill( read from another comment) My moms club and I go there sometimes..

  • Yea, the Fox Grill has the best spinach dip!

  • Your puff ROCKS!!! I can't wait for my TWA to grow out. It is taking too long and I want to rock so many natural hairstyles.

  • Just be patient... You'll get there.

  • Now I know what to do with my hair after I am done taking out my yarn braids. Ugh...if I ever finish! Looks very nice.

  • Congrats on your YouTube Anniversary! I like your puff (I've had some big ol' braids in my hair for a couple days now and now I've got an idea on how I'm going to wear my hair for worship later; thanks). When I wear the satin caps with elastic on the inside (I think I have the same one that you had on for bed), I reverse the cap so that the elastic is on the outside. That way it doesn't rub on the hairline possibly taking the hair out. Ashley makes good music, it had me *chair dancing* LOL!

  • On the topic of HD videos, I have only one on my channel and I don't think I'll be doing another. It takes up too much space on the computer. Also it was a while ago that I loaded it up on YouTube, but I think it did take a long time for it to load. HD is nice, but regular HQ is fine too ;-).

  • @BargainClipper This video does look a heck of a lot better than my other videos though... much, much, much more clearer.

  • @BargainClipper Good tip about the satin cap... Thanks!

  • You're welcome!

  • Hair---AMAZING!! Love the Puff!!

Songs--I really loved the First and Last songs...Great beats!

  • you niece sounds like mya...which means she is very good! lol is she a natural diva like yourself? :)

  • you looks amazing. warm tones definitely suit you.

  • Hi Shida! Was wondering what are ingredients that you look out for in products? Meaning, the ingredients that you don't want to use on your hair that are in products.

  • @libbymarshae The ingredients I stay away from are: sulfates, silicones (cones), mineral oil, petroleum, & petrolatum.

  • Thanks for replying!

  • Great Video and Music! Loved the hair and Ms. Ashley has talent!

  • What's up Shida! congrats, congrats, congrats! your hair is growing sooooooo much as I've told you on FB. Your show is phenomenal! congrats on that as well. I'm so proud of all your success. Tell Ashley that she's going to give KiKi Sheard a run for her money!

  • This is absolutely beautiful. Gr8t idea using the scarf to lay down the edges. I am using my Shea Butter And Ashea Shea Butter Pomade to achieve this look. Your hairline is to die for. Have a blessed day and Merry Christmas and an even more Prosperous New Year!!!! Love you Shida : - )

  • Let me know how you like the Ashea shea butter pomade.

  • I just loaded up a video about your products. My hair was so moisturizing that I was able to braid it again last night w/o using any more products. I used the banana clip today and it is still gorgeous. Wow great products. Take care and God bless : - )

  • Very nice puff! This video will be added to my faves!!! I am struggling to find a gel that will hold my edges. I don't know if it's the gel or my application (wet vs. dry hair). Anyway, you have encouraged me to try again! :o)
