@dukenukem710 I'm sad that you feel that way. I personally like America a lot and have found most Americans to be pretty decent people (there are exceptions to this of course). I enjoy living in Japan, but it has its share of problems as well, as anywhere does. The Japanese pop culture things are why many people move to Japan but it is a thin reason to live here long term. The novelty wears off pretty fast. But good luck with your studies.
Since Vinnk is an American living in Japan, maybe he should tell everyone there how to spell "congratulations" correctly. How many times have you seen "congraturation?"
@Vinnk Well, to be fair, they don't have plural words as such in Japanese... or something. (Or maybe it's the difficulty in pronouncing the "s" sound without a vowel...?)
so thats all the disc checker does?it doesnt fix the errors on the non working disc?
isnt that kinf of pointless and use less,i mean why swap discs when you can just put the disc you want to check in first,it will either work or it wont,if it dont you could just keep trying other games you have to ensure ts not the drive
@bulletproof2353 Not all disc errors occur when you first try to load up a game, that's just the most recognizable area for it to happen. It could be on the A side or the B side. It might be in the write sector if you try to save/load a game.
The disk is mostly useful for game store owners who want to make sure that the data of the games they are selling is intact, and when you have LOTS of disk system games to sell you need to save all the time you can.
@bulletproof2353 Because just having a disc boot up does not mean it works. A sector on the disc that you would not get to until a later level of a game may be damaged. This checker scans the entire disc and makes sure there are no errors anywhere on it.
@ryanc519 Yeah, he is still in business. The retro game market is slowly dying with this like virtual console, emulation, etc, and the future for the used game market with Digital Distribution and all is a bit unclear. But as of today, he is still in business.
They usually come with the disks. I don't know if you can find them by themselves anywhere. Best I can recommend is to buy cheap games you don't care about and take their cases. And, heck, if you trash the disk then that game will rise in value! You'll be doing everyone a service!*
You go see the same person who made you watch this. In other words you should try to make a time machine and prevent your self in some past from watching this if you want that 5mins and 33secs back in your life..granted your future would be greatly altered..
Not really. Everything I think is a good find is some kind of reissue or something. I can't recall anything I've ever tracked down being all that difficult. Satisfying, but...
wait, famicon dojo is a store?!?!?!?!?!!?!?

@therealhardrock Have you also heard them talk about how important it is to hold an "erection"?
SeanOrange 10 months ago 2
@therealhardrock Not so often but they will forget the final "s" quite frequently. Congratulation!
Vinnk 7 months ago
@Vinnk Maybe you can also tell me why the Japanese mistake an apostrophe for a dash (Street Fighter II' and K' are examples).

@ryanc519 As far as I know! Hiro's still going strong. I haven't gotten there myself since 2006, but Vinnk is in contact with them regularly.

@SeanOrange I wasn't talking about the game cases I meant that awesome case that holds all the game cases that looks like a disk writer kiosk

Sean! YES! IT'S FULL OF POISON!
zeldajunkielol2 2 years ago
Hahaha, Hiro...that was great. =) Although that's probably true in both senses in Japan...unless Goldeneye actually caught on there, too.
MGNSMG 2 years ago
Just for the record, out of the 8 million copies sold worldwide, the Japanese version sold only 300,000 copies.
Tubewings 2 years ago
Oh, so it IS true in both senses... XD Makes an even better pun..
MGNSMG 2 years ago
Can y'all show more of your rare ... accessaries? Technically, y'all never showed any 'rare'games.
41dhos 2 years ago
Where was the "Famicom Dojo" store located at?
(there's actually store called "Famicom Dojo"? Wonder if there's been any lawsuits...)

Its in Oita Prefecture. And it was Hiro who works at the store Famicom Dojo who designed our logo.
