@cacolate YES. It is awful. It takes 2 turns, horrible accuracy 90%, and its usually not stabbed. Plus a STAB'd outrage does more has perfect accuracy and doesnt require 2 turns. Hyper Beam in competitive is even worse.

personally i choose thunder punch over fire punch since most water types have ice type moves and ice type pokemon have so many weaknesses but i guess it is a personal preference

@Rossolon while that seems like a good move set, dragonite is typically known to have better physical attack than special. But if you have one with a nature like quiet and you ev train his special attack, that moveset can be effective.

Poor accuracy with dragon rush.

You should bump off dragon rush and get waterfall or a stat+ move.

Waterfall+dragon claw+earthquake= excellent type coverage aagainst anything but but shedinja.

Dragon rush is an option over dragon claw if dragonite is holding a zoom lens.

If it can't learn waterfall use aqua tail.

I'm currently training my Dragonair that's on the verge of becoming Dragonite which it's at now, level 47. I nicknamed her "DRACONIAN" and as for the moveset I planned for it, being as it is, a Jolly nature with 252 ev's in both Attack & Speed, this is it;

AND for the last option I'm in more likely favor to give it Superpower then Fire Punch instead.

Stone edge isn't very effective. Fire punch makes more sense for Dragonite. Fire punch has more PP.

My Dragonite has a Adamant nature. Its attacks are Outrage, Aeriel Ace, Thunderbolt and Brick Break. These are all reliable moves which allow my Dragon to hold its own against almost any pokemon especially those annoying physical walls like Blissey and the dangerous water pokemon Milotic.

Make sure that you dragonite has IVs in attack. And is an attacking nature.

Or a simplier method if you don't know what an IV is, keep breeding dratini's until the text says "Likes to thrash about". You can even see in this video at 0:54 his dragonite has the text "Likes to thrash about". Meaning you'll have max or atleast close to max attack if you EV train properly.

To get Extremespeed, you need a male dratini from the Dragon's Den Elder after you beat the Blackthorne City gym leader. You have to have an open slot, and must answer 5 questions perfectly. If you miss just one question, you will NOT get the dratini. After that, take that particular dratini and breed it with a female dratini till you get a sufficient IV level offspring and raise that.

My particular dragonite is 106hp/252att/152spd with adamant nature @life orb/expert belt

You should have put the Spd EVs into HP; it makes Dragonite a bulky version of Salamence, and with Dragon Dance it cancels out its inferior speed, making it awesome.

Also, Dragonite can learn Ice Punch. Heck yeah.
