  • amazing layout :D

  • ok thanks

  • HI CAN YOU TALL ME WHAT EXACLI QCI DECODER IS NUMBER OR MODEL??

    YOU'RS SOUND NICE I LIKED

  • @woltar9 Its a QSI-U. P42/1050/442. That's Name/Type Number/Sound file. The 442 signifies the Nathan K5la horn. Hope that helps. QSI recently replaced the Universal (QS-U) with the Titan. I havent heard one yet, so I cant vouch for how they sound or perform.

  • when you get the your other p42 can you install a titan in it so i can hear the sound before i buy it?an d also i don't understand this cv 115.5.31 or

something like that. how do i program the cvs like that? please replay.

  • @iqbaln206 Sure, can you give me a $150 so I can pay for it? hahaha...

No seriously, Im not putting sound in that one. May put LEDs and Reverse LEDs in.

  • @bigB6flyer what about the cvs?

  • is there space for a small extra speaker since the titan has stereo?

  • @iqbaln206 there's really only room for one 1" square speaker

  • @iqbaln206 I doubt it

  • what if i don't have a buzz saw to cut the led s for the ditch lights ? and with the right modifications will small led s work for marker lights?

  • @iqbaln206 just nip them the tower leds with a razor. Yes small leds will work for the red backup lights. Use a 1/16" or smaller bit to make the holes. Follow flymanjg's how-to video close as you can.

  • @bigB6flyer will an exact-o knife work?

  • @bigB6flyer if i dont have that can i use a exec to knife?

  • @iqbaln206 Probably, just be careful. You may want to pick up some tools. Dont buy a $100 decoder and then go cheap on the tools you need for installation, you know?

  • one more thing to ask.but first....the titan is out!!!!!!!! but do you recommend i keep the one inch speaker included or get the high bass speaker that flymang used?

  • @iqbaln206 that's good news. Go w the high bass. Make sure you get the square 1" aka 28mm speaker and enclosure. You'll have to sand it down to fit. Follow flymanjg's video. Good luck!

  • do you expect that it has the same f functions?look i know i have not even pre orderd my p42s yet i just want to know more about the decoder.

  • @iqbaln206 Its supposed to have 10 to 14 functions. QSI website will answer most of your questions.

  • @bigB6flyer i tried qsi first they did not have answers. that is why i am asking you.

  • so do you recommend that i wait for the titan?

  • @iqbaln206 yes

  • @bigB6flyer i'm also gonna wait for the titan.

  • what cv do you need to change to get this sound scheme on the qsi titan

  • @iqbaln206 I dont know how to do it on the Titan. They are just now hitting hobby shops and I dont own one. With the QSI-U, the one shown in this engine here, it is preprogrammed with one horn program, in this case the Nathan K5LA. Please consult the QSI website for more info.

  • what cv do we program to select p42 fdl 16 a with k5la

  • pleas replay!

  • i am sorry i meant the same

  • will the installation be same?

  • so is it the same thing as this decoder but better?

  • @iqbaln206 Essentially, yes.

  • how much will it cost

  • @iqbaln206 Looks like the Titans will be about $100. MRSP is like 115-120.

  • dose it have A whoop compressor ? and are they real sounds?

  • @iqbaln206 Im not sure about the A whoop term but it, occasionally makes a noise that sounds like that. Im not sure if theyre real sounds but this is one case where I like the QSI sounds better than Soundtraxx version of the FDL16 (both the original and the recently released Modern version, which are recorded from actual sounds). To me, this is the closest sound decoder to what an actual Amtrak P42 sounds like in real life.

  • @bigB6flyer thank you so much! i was going to get the soundtraxx tsunami fdl 16 modern but i noticed that the bell sounded like a dash 8 bhw bell thank you for your opinian i am no expert on this type of decision and also when is the qsi titan comming out?

  • @iqbaln206 QSI is saying this fall with Steam sounds coming first and diesel last. I would expect real soon. They are supposed to be awesome. I havent heard the sounds yet but hopefully the decoder will live up to the hype.

  • @bigB6flyer great! cant wait! i hope it is the exact same sounds

  • @iqbaln206 but better quality

  • @iqbaln206 There will probably be more features and its 64 bit so its newer techology. Most decoders now are 16 bit, even Soundtraxx. QSI sound has always been high quality.

  • how big is this layout?

  • @gothicskull13

    6x11

  • very cool!

  • Would the guy who did the how to video is it Flymanjg?

  • @NscaleAmtrak

Yes, the how-to video I followed was by Flymanjg. He hasnt posted anything in awhile, but he is an incredibly talented modeler.

  • Nice!

  • That horn soiunds like a nathan P3

  • @CoasterFan2105 It does a bit, but its the Nathan K5LA file that was uploaded onto the decoder. My sound isnt the best in this video.

  • The LED's look great and the doppler effect sounds awesome!

  • @aocruiser Thanks!

  • That doppler effect was sweet!

  • @CSXKid5016 Hey thanks. Yep that doppler effect is pretty cool.
