  • Easy solution ,stay out of Africa rather than complaining.

  • Charlize states rape statistics. Now all rapes (in this context) are women being raped by men. So she isolates that part of the male population of SA. Then she goes on...

Charlize says:"...and perhaps worst of all that the rest of the men in South Africa seem to think that rape isn't their problem".

That's what the controversy was about. Us South African males were labelled as either being rapists ourselves, or we were worse. We didn't care about rape victims.

  • @19RedLineR74 maybe generally that is the truth. Every group has their exceptions, but for the most part most rape victims ANYWHERE in the world tend to be women.

  • @Rosannasfriend That's not the point. It's not generally true that men are indifferent towards female rape victims. That is what the ad is saying, and why those organisations don't get a sent from me anymore.

  • The statistics quoted in this video are the same as in the US.

  • Why was this ad controversal?

  • @KennyEverything We just studied this in an Anthropology class.

It was controversial because people accused it of being racist.

It's sad how awareness about these really important issues gets smothered because of people playing the race card over and over again.

  • And, of course, not a word about the male victims of rape in South Africa.

  • @SaintsWillMarch 1 in 3 women in South Africa will get raped at some point in their life.

Their likelihood of being raped is greater than their likelihood of getting a college education.

    Think about that.

The statistics for men are a lot lower.

  • I get the message; real men don't rape. But how the hell did she gain mind-reading abilities to say that even the South African men that DON'T rape are okay with it?

    :/

  • @citrinestone because they don't do anything to stop it?

  • @citrinestone Because if they did, there would be trying harder to stop the rapes.

  • well done, trolls! you cracked it! "must be cuza'ey got all'em dern negros runnin' around! maybe we oughter impose some kinda, apart-time to keeps 'em from rapin' the white man's wimmin!" yup, that's science for ya- circumstances have NOTHING TO DO WITH HISTORY, they're based purely in those "evil" melanin skin cells. Also, don't got any evidence? It's cool, man, just make some statistics up. git'er dun, der-de-der! sheesh next to yr "logic" theron's castration ad looks soo reasonable.

  • All rapists in South Africa are Black.

    They are animals.

  • 99.9% OF THE RAPIST IN SOUTH AFRICA ARE BLACK

  • @civilrightsforwhites ABSOLUTELY. THEY ARE SAVAGES. I AM SURE PPL THINK THAT CHARLIZE DATED A NEGRO !!! YEAH RIGHT! SHE STAYS FAR AWAY FROM THEM

  • Wow some of u ppl are really fucking stupid she is saying real man dont DONT Rap and she speaks the truth at least she speaks the truth and not like the other ppl

  • I think her point is very valid. By being silent witnesses (whether by directly observing the identity of the rapists), those other men who are not rapists themselves effectively become accomplices.

  • Or is completely retarded. I suspect he's just a troll.

  • Yunikage is either a troll, a person who doesn't understand English

  • whooooooooooooooooo! go charlize theron! she is exactly right. you can't rape people or treat people like crap and still call yourself a man. only losers rape.

  • how are you so retarted as to think this is pro-rape? Are you serious??

  • @yunikage God you are thick as two planks....."there seem to be so few men out there" (in south africa) is a DIRECT quote from what she said - she's saying that the men either rape, or they don't do anything about other men raping - so they are NOT men.....MY GOD!!

  • Damn, Africa, you scary.

  • yunikage please watch this video again and listen very very carefully to Charlize's words. hopefully this time around you won't get it twisted

  • ...?

  • She wasn't saying that it's ok for men to rape. She just stated the fact...that many men in Africa rape and those guys are not counted as real men....that's what I understand anyway...

  • Did you even watch the commercial? She's saying that real men don't rape and that there aren't a lot of real men in South Africa because most don't care about the rape issue or are rapists themselves. It's a completely anti-rape message. You're either trolling or in need of better comprehension skills, mate.

  • I don't think you understand what she says, you should listen it more carefully. She's saying that there aren't a lot of men in South Africa, because real men don't rape, and a lot of men in SA do.

  • you must be seriously messed up,cause she just said that real men DONT rape....jeez!

    t allo 8 doume...

  • Directly because of the end of apartheid. The Africans are raping and killing whites left and right.

  • What's wring with you? How do you imagine this pro-rape!?!?

  • You are so stupid yunikage. Period.

  • This commercial is only controversial cause she tells the truth that men don´t care all that much about womens status in their society. Not saying that all men are potential rapists but that the rapists feel they can do it.

  • she doesnt like rape shes from south africa so thats why she is talking about it!

  • yunikage, how does this commercial make her a fan of rape? Who the hell would be a fan of rape! You're an idiot!

  • How do you imagine this pro-rape!?!?
