I loved hearing this and was gutted when it wasn't the actual menu music. In fact, this style of music wasn't features in the ost at all. Perhaps bungie liked it at first but after the beta decided they wanted a more sombre feel to the music so decided to scrap this. Who knows? Nevertheless, this was great and I hope the new composer for the halo series will be just as good as Martin O'Donnel

@SuperGreat0610 theres a whole wiki of it, not on wiki itself but theres a website you will find if you type halowiki into a search. it'll take alot to explain it anyway, but if your after a simple awnser there were these aliens called foruners that created a speicies called flood and had to eradicate them to save all life, built the halos and the ark, and fired them, but saved some of each life form to keep them alive, but apparently died out themselves. then the covie thought they were holy.

i like the way in the beta that marty isolated different layers: melody, countermelody etc. from the first "real" trailer and used them for the melody. i love the part with just the brass and timpani, sounds amazing can't wait to see the full soundtrack.

The music sounds all around better then HALO 2 or 3 its really got that epic tune to it. I felt 2 and 3 the music sometimes did not match the gameplay. Especially when the crap band incubus came in on Halo 2 and pooped all over everything with their hippie tunes
