It seems the only reason an official Kirby RPG doesn't exist is because HAL designs all Kirby games from the ground up to be accessible to beginners, and couldn't make a simple enough RPG for a 4-year old to pick up. Tending to have a lot of text and dialogue, it's not a genre that makes itself very accessible to a series targeting illiterate players, and which has next to no dialogue. In addition, Paper Mario 64 pretty much already made a name for itself as the ultimate RPG for beginners.

@Mysteryblocks The SaGa series originally started on Gameboy but it was stupidly renamed Final Fantasy Adventure because the localizers were afraid that people wouldn't buy a game with an unfamiliar brand name. None of the SaGa games have the same stories, like FF, but they use a unique system of leveling up: what you do in battle determines what goes up; use magic, INT up; get hit, HP up. The Romancing SaGa games (the first three) didn't come here though RS3 has been fan translated.

@Flegan777 (continued) We did get SaGa Frontier 1 and 2 as well as Unlimited Saga and Minstrel Song (RS1 redone with extras). In addition, many people consider SaGa to be somewhat harder since you can't just grind. The stronger you get, the stronger the monsters get (the various species of monsters grow larger and more dangerous as you do). Money is also scarce and is generally earned from sidequests rather than battles. You also instantly game over if the main hero runs out of LP (life points).

You have to admit that Gray's short introduction was funny compared to the other characters'. The things the characters said during battle gave me a couple chuckles, too.

@Flegan777 No, no, the little snippet they say when they meet new characters. Captain Hawke says something about not having a ship anymore, etc. Gray just says "I'm Gray.", with no other details about himself.

@PMSolvalou That's a good question. It couldn't hurt to put Kirby in a genre outside of his normal grounds, right? An RPG would be a great new outing for me, especially considering that:

1. They've got a great model to go on right here.

2. Kirby hasn't done much outside of platforming and sports/minigames
