the only turbo 6 in the soarer/sc's was the 1JZ-GTE . they had the 2JZ-GE non turbo version for the soarer/sc. 1UZ has alot of power potential, actually more than the 2JZ-GTE if you have enough money to throw at it, the hks v8 supra had a 1500hp 1UZ Twin Turbo. and there have been 2000hp 1UZ's out there in drag cars. but, it ain't cheap that's for sure.

One example (even tho its not forced induction) 305 HP 350Z..........268ft lbs of torque. 2002 mustang gt with catback and intake est. 270HP..........310ft lbs of torque. oh come on man, we are talking about the 2JZ - GE, the platform of one of the greatest engines of all time. Yes you're right, stock the 4.0 V8 was a touch faster. But tuning capabilities don't even compare.

tuning capabilities of the 1UZ isn't as far as the 2JZ because the 2JZ got popularity from the Supra.

then for need to remember that the 1UZ is an all aluminum motor with DOHC and quad valves, "same configuration" as a 2JZ would be. 1UZ's arent offered in turbo's... but what if you turbo'd a 1UZ.... then you got something crazy. other wise, both motors are beastly AND overengineered from factory >:D

@dubvipers 1uz engine is a god. My old SC400 ran for 247,000 miles, and my dad drove it 160,000 miles without doing maintenance on it because he knows nothing about cars. It was a bitch on maintenance when it got to me but hey, it ran(and fast) for a while. hell it didn't even break down, i hit a tree. the only thing that didnt torque or break under the hood was the engine, although all the little oil seal areas did.

You are funny guy, torque doesn't mean nothing not even in 1/4 mile or drift, or circuit racing, IT'S FUCKIN' WEIGHT...REMEMBER THIS, WEIGHT is most important.

You can have 500hp car but if weights over 2 tonnes that's shit compare to Supra.

Torque is more important to heavy cars, much better handling, and of course lower fuel economy. Light cars usually using smaller, (forced induction) engines to keep mileage lower and still bigger power.

But you are talking about 2002 Mustangs which comes with shitty 3.8 V6 and power smaller than Type-R Integra DC5, and 4.6 V8 with also 260hp, but at least it's SOHC.

Horrible? Is that mixed driving? My supercharged V6 gets about 18 mpg with a good mix of city/highway driving so I'd say those figures aren't too bad. I've gotten as low as 14 mpg on pure start stop driving. Highway though I can get up to 33 mpg if I cruise control and just steer it (No brakes or gas).
