The air is being moved by a regular speaker(active), and the moving air moves the cone of the (passive) radiator.

chevyman217, basically u have a sub box that has two speakers in it. one speaker is powered by an amplifier, the other speaker isnt (it cant be, passive radiator). the the air from the speaker that is powered, moves the passive radiator. so basically, you get more air movement, which=more bass, without having to power multiple drivers.
