  • I have these conversations with ex-morons, anti-mormons, all of the time, @ minute 3:42 on your video....and when I blow holes in their "logic" and point out that they are contradicting themselves, being hypocritical they just get mad and resort to other methods like demeaning, yelling, name calling, etc. Of course I can't do that (as you know) and that part is frustrating, but is teaching me better self control. I see it as good practice for the future/for the millenium. :)

  • @brilliantlycreated I generally don't waste the time. I think it denigrates the truth and shows a lack of faith. So, I give them one liners usually. I guess I was just bored that day.

  • @mormonfamilyguy How do you see it as a lack of faith?

  • @brilliantlycreated This is my opinion, but I feel that it is a lack of faith when I try to take it on my shoulders to do what only the Holy Ghost can do...convert others. All I can do is testify. It's the Holy Ghost that must convince and if I waste time with the hard hearts then I may miss speaking with someone who is ready to listen.

  • @mormonfamilyguy I agree with you completely, but I don't think it's a lack of faith that I have, I think it's figuring out whoose heart is hardened and who's heart can be softened that takes a little time. I have made head way with a few people, and I also think that if they show themselves with their language and ways, and I remain calm and kind, then someone will happen upon that exchange of words who is searching and they will see the goodness that the church teaches.

  • @brilliantlycreated That could be so true. You have the Christlike attribute known as longsuffering. I could learn that more.

  • @mormonfamilyguy That is probably the nicest thing you could say to me.....and shows what a smart therapist you are as well. But, I still think you are being humble. I am not perfect in my blogging, but I am getting much better. And, if you only knew how different I've become through the my conversion process or 8 years. If anyone needed to learn to suffer, I did. You have no idea.!

  • (part 2) Standing up to the anti-mormon rhetoric online has been an intentional therapy I gave myself to increase the lack of tolerance I have. It paid off. Yesterday, for the first time EVER I was hit square in the face in, in person by an anti-mormon who was well versed. I wanted to run away for about 60 seconds, then I wanted to say "you have alot of nerve!" for 30 seconds then....after a 20 minute talk, he softened. I could not believe it. I'm sure it was temporary, but wow was it nice!

  • @brilliantlycreated Congrats. Great job. We all need to do our part in the spiritual information war for the souls of humankind. We are planting seeds.

  • Yup. Mormon epistemology in a nutshell.

  • @cbl2988 Phenomenology.

  • LOL, I have a "logical" thinking cousin who I've had conversations with that remind me of this. That's why I laugh. He's a big time Atheist. Now I'm no scientist but when I logically break down his arguments he just gets mad.

  • @Dalessiokiller Yes. The cold, "objective" arrogance. It's boorish.

  • Excellent

  • @xeremos Thanks. Buddhism is also a great path from what I see to a type of phenomenally "feeling" through existence. So, I'm not surprised you'd appreciate the failure of cold logic or empiricism.

  • Amen.
