No, it is absolutely not necessary for gall bladder surgery or any other surgery unless the bladder could be damaged if full. By all means, SAY NO if they say you have to have one. It's BS if they say it's necessary.
They just do cath's when ur sleeping if its a long surgery unless its a surg that has to do with urinating you wouldnt prolly need one. Let me know how it went. Ik this was posted a long time ago. Let me know! Im a para, and get to cath myself every 3 hours so, its nothing to be too freaked about. and yes i can feel it lol.
Probably not for gallbladder surgery. I've had mine out and didn't have one. Didn't even have one for back surgery either. I asked before my surgeries and was told no. They only do it if the surgery could damage the bladder if its full or if the surgery is more than a couple hours. You def don't need one for all surgeries like some people say, it's not true. You can always refuse it to, the surgeon can't order it if you say no.
i've had a catheter in and well it's not as bad as that guy on youtube has let us to believe. it pinched a bit but not as bad as thta guy. granted a female doesn't go in as far as the male but it's not painful
Hell no, it was the worst pain in the world for me. DON'T GET A CATHETER. I'm a guy and its painful as shit. I don't give a shit what you say but that shit is more painful that stitches. Also your dick farts after its done and its weird.
One thing that I forgot to tell was that endotreachael tube. That was the worst pain in the throat and it was hell. But later a doctor said that is no problem because one can desensitize before the day of surgery. To desensitize just put in an endotreacheal tube for a minute then just have a mild sore throat for a few days and do this about once a week and there will be no totally burn like hell sore throat after the proceedure when you need it the least. It taks practice but I have done it.
The catheter for me was the best part. The real bummer was arter it came out I had to get up to piss when I still wanted to veg out. While cathy was visiting dick he stayed pumped up nearly the whole time. Some people get so luckey that they get to keep cathy for a week after the operation. Next time I get any surgery I will be sure to have the thing.
I dont get why people "just get used to it" if you dont want one dont do it period. and since i am assuming your a guy Did you get used to the "be a man deal with it " tatic ? Ive been hearing that for over 2 years in my medical issues....
Let me tell u

Yes, you'll have one, but it's not that bad, I have kidney failure, so I've had plenty experience, it hurts at first, but you get use to it.
