It was great to see how the dancers are doing today. This is the first time I ever heard Sally speak. She is really a beauty. Is there any way a guy could get an introduction? She still looks great.
OMG! Thank you for this video. I LOVED watching Soul Train in the 80's...especially loved the dancers. I've always wondered what happened to them. It's GREAT to see them looking good and holding on to their swag!
I was a huge fan of these dancers. They were my favorite group. I loved watching Soul Train and when I had a football game or baseball game and couldn't watch I would tape it VHS. I got most of my dance moves from them. Great Video.
I grew up, waiting every Saturday for Soul Train to come on; I got all of my moves from you guys. I love all of you and it's nice to see all of you are doing well.
I grew up also waiting impatiently for Soul Train to come on on Saturday morning, Id watch my cartoons first, get those in, then Soul Train would come on and my living room became a dance floor and my momma, father, sister, brother, everybody would be dancing! Soul Train had something for everybody!
That was awesome, it was so cool to hear a little of the history of the people who gave the soul to soul train! You hear the stories about dancers who were just there to be used and abused, so to see the joy that the soul train dancers had every time they stepped up, very heartening. Kudos Asha!
the 80s dancers then and now. this is exactly what i wanted to see. everybody looks great. juliette haggerman still looks lovely. and the ultimate duo rick carson and manuel reed were my favorite. i hope there will be more videos like this. 80's all the way!! thank you for posting this.
Asha, I love this! You did a great job. Although I danced on Soul Train in what would be its final years, I am blessed to know all of the dancers interviewed for this piece. Well done!
what ever happend to the long hair asian chick.. the one who's primary dance move was playing with her hair.. she was awsome.. I wonder if Shalamar will be part of the documentry.. hope so
OH and I JUST told my daughter and her friends *who are all 13*..that what they call the jerk or the reject is what we called the backwards Running Man and the Roger Rabbit. And then had to show them those dances and the REAL Jerk from the 60s.
-Derek looks like Jeffrey D...are they sure they have the right clip?
-ha ha ha I remember the spank!!!!
-Tom and friend still looking like pimps/ thugs. lol
- Hey where's the original Asian girl dancer and the one chick that wore a chain on the side of her face?! They were my favorite dancers. Along with Jodey watley and Jefferey Danials.
I'm 21 and I wish I was that age in '89. Music was so much better during that time period. It was very cool to see the dancers interviewed! Keep up the good work Asha!
We live to see Soul Train every Saturday morning; then go outside to dance just like these people in a Soul Train Line. We could not have done these moves without them. This is one of the most important Arts of hip hop. Thank You Guy's and Ladies of these moves. That's the True the Reject was made on Soul Train just like the Robot, Bump,Funky Chicken, 4 croners
I wish they'd bring back a 2011 version of Soul Train.
Just great dance music, and kids having fun. Love peace and soul.
