  • Aldo Raine reminds me of Captain Jack Harkness

  • I'm from Maynardville haha but I live in Myrtle Beach now :)

  • The problem for non-native speakers is not the accent, actually the problem are terms like "wits", "behoove" and so on.

  • "it takes all four to end the war" <my favourite part!

  • Bien dice Aldo Raine "Long story short, We hear a story too good to be true, it ain't"

  • 3 persons don't eared a story too good to be true

  • BJ Novak stole this scene. lol

  • im from maynardville =P

  • @TheSeaUnder I'm sorry for you, I lived there once... I'll never make this mistake again.

  • i watched film in russian translation.

Surprisingly but russian voice acting for aldo raine is even better than the original brad pitt voice

  • Why the hell is there wine in front of them while they're tied up?

  • @Pulver1zer

    that's the fun!

  • Im from Union County,TN and Maynardville is the city in it Its population was 1,000 and its a small middle of nowhere place everyone drives trukes and dip and fram and there all white no blacks only whites

  • @SlipknotMaggotArmy3 - sounds like heaven!!!

  • @SlipknotMaggotArmy3 im from maynardville too and your really wrong lol. Sharps chapel has way less people than maynardville. i have friiends that are black that live here and its not only whites. It has a lot of differentt people and you should realy check your spelling on stuff before everyone thinks were a bunch of pathetic rednecks. BTW everyone his accent in this movie is completely wrong.

  • I went to see this movie opening weekend in Knoxville, TN. When Pitt delivered this line the whole theater cheered/applauded. Twas awesome.

  • I read some critics in the UK saying Pitt's accent was "cartoonish." I am from Georgia, very near Tennessee, and I say he nailed it. Pitt's accent is Appalachian, and it is right on. My Southern ears can pick out a fake.

  • @onemondaynight I think accents change depending on what part of the Appalachian mountains your hailing from. His accent is without a doubt southern but not quite deep appalachian whose accents are quicker and little more base in nature. some words sound so off (I'm from WV and i once had some women from ohio ask if i spoke english) -.- words like "Like" some out sounding like Liak or "Hey" sounding like a long A sound. we also say "Um" at uneeded times LOL.

  • who is the guy sitting next to aldo? i dont remember seeing him in the movie. the two "italians" are sitting in the cinema when this scene is. i dont get it, some help? :)

  • @FranciscosFilmtime Utevich, his scalper, played by BJ Novak =)

  • 0:27 something about that look Utavich gives makes me laugh!

  • @FallingRockAlchemist "The Germans' nickname for me is the Little Man? -_-"

  • i watched this movie when i was living back in florida wondering, "where the hell is maynardville, tennessee?" I now live 20 minutes north of maynardville and laugh every time i drive through it.

  • Lmao, I'm from the UK and had no trouble understanding Aldo's accent. I've never heard a southern accent that strong before.

  • @Letonintendo Well you nned to come south of the mason-dixon line and go on a road trip outside of the big cities.

  • @treyswolrd123 I have no idea where that is, but I'll be sure to go there if I ever have the chance of visiting America!

  • @Letonintendo It's anywhere below virginia except southern floridia. I.E. Georgia

  • @Letonintendo East Tennessee. I was born and raised here and talk exactly like Aldo. Funny, how everyone makes fun of an accent till a movie like this comes along and it becomes badass.

  • @Letonintendo You should go to rural Mississippi. That's the thickest Southern accent you'll ever hear.

  • how does Utivitch get caught?

  • @Ionutzr08 what happens?

  • wow what a slang. his swallong all the sentences.

  • synchronized blinking at 0:20

  • @Ionutzr08 hahahha nevr noticed tht

  • Aldo brought "Behooves" into my everyday vocabulary.

  • I filmed most of my videos in MAYNARDVILLE, TN lawl. Come check them out.

  • im am officially incorperating "behoove" into my vocabulary

  • Brad Pitt should be nominated. I loved Lt Aldo, I loved the way he spoke.

  • i love utivich

  • Ryan started the fire!!!

  • Comment removed

  • wow superb lighting

  • a river dare chee

  • I could give him an Oscar just because his TN accent....hahahaha

  • for those of you that don't know, brad pitt actually nailed the accent, have a few friends from tennesse that sound just like that

  • 0:20

  • the best part of the movie! hahaha

    antonio margariti!!!

  • am still pissed that brad didn't get a nod for basterds at the golden globes.

  • I honestly didn't think Brad's role had enough to warrant a Globe nod.

And besides, Christoph Waltz was so busy usurping this whole movie in the most awesome way possible, that there's no way any other male leads could do enough to get awards attention.

  • can somebody post the undertitles of this scene!? please, i loved to listen to pitt and his nice accent, but this scene broke my neck. after he answers where he comes from i just don't get an idea what he tells landa until the point with the story to good to be true

  • @NiManOnTehRockz

"I've done my share of bootleggin. Up here, if you engage in what the federal government calls illegal activity but what we call just a man trying to make a living for his family selling moonshine liquor, it behooves oneself to keep his wits. Long story short: we hear a story too good to be true, it ain't."

  • thx, still tough for somebody with no experience with people from tennessee :D but i got it .

i can imagine how hard it must be to understand the passages in german.

anyway, love the movie, love brad pitt

  • Im french and I understand him :D

U have to listen very carefully and its ok :)

  • thx! very helpful -.- not that it has been answered very precisely

  • mainerville tennessee, I done my share of bootleggin, up 'here we engage in what the federal government calls illegal activity but what we call just a man tryin to make a livin sellin moonshine liquor it behooths oneself to keep his wits, long story short, we hear a story too good to be true, it aint

had a buddy in basic from tenessee. spend 16 weeks with a guy from the volunteer state and things start to click

  • Ryan the temp!

  • The guy sitting beside him just stares at him. XD

  • I love the way Tarantino intrigue audience with only dialogs. And with Pitts ability to act this movie makes spectator to keep his eyes on the screen. Brilliant film. Love it.

  • I'm amused at the fact that Col. Landa actually poors the two of them some Chianti or whatever that was, and their damn hands are tied behind their backs. That's a real sonofab.itch right there.

  • That's a bingo!!!

  • I live in Knoxville, TN and when he said Maynardville, the WHOLE theater started cheering.

  • "Wait... You'r Aldo The Apache, and I'm The Little Man?"

"Well your not as short as I thought you were going to be not like circus freak small"

That was my favourite line in the film

    or the 'Italian' scene

    brilliant film

  • You uh, botched those lines a little bit, but okay.

  • priceless

  • long story short, we hear a story to good to be true, it ain't!!!!!

  • "...It behooves oneself..."

I could not help laughing everytime Pitt opened his mouth.

  • Yes, his pronunciation is so weird O_o

  • bonjurno

  • Gnatzies

  • MAYNARDVILLE!!!

  • what a badass!
