Thank you, thank you, thank you - major depression since I was twenty five (mid-seventies and still a stigma. Now my husband calls it "Feeling sorry for myself." I call it being in the phone booth (phone doesn't work and I can't get out. Thank God I have a great shrink. How can I help this caude?
I want to help this cause. I'm one of the shunned. Bi-polar diagnosis in 2003. I love you all involved for being as brave as you are. Just don't tell the religion that shall remain unspoken, none of us wants any more "disconnection" policies!
Wonderful PSA - more people need to be aware that mental disorders - bipolar disorder in particular - are not something to be afraid of. As more and more North Americans come forth to publically discuss their condition, hopefully society will listen & become more accepting & be inspired to learn more about the causes, treatments, and options available for those with depression, bipolar disorder & other mental conditions.
Joey & everyone who worked on this PSA... This is such an important message and one that I am happy to share. Thank you for all you are doing to "Stomp The Stigma" and to educate the world about the importance of understanding brain dis-ease. Very well done!
The work that NKM2 has been doing over the past few years to educate and reduce the Stigma of "brain dis-ease" is so needed. As an educator to law enforcement and correctional professionals I can share with NKM2 that your work is making a difference in helping "Stomp The Stigma". Thanks, Joey.
