false. they only need surgery in some cases, like a too big child, a premature or very overdue child. if there are experienced midwifes and / or doctors, it can be absolutely possible to give vaginal birth with breech. don't always believe what your doctor says! many injuries that the baby and the mother have after vaginal birth are due to false use of obstetric techniques. that just sucks.
